Better In Tongues

Better In Tongues is the fourth studio album by the Hip Hop duo Rum & Coke. The album is to be released by Studio60 Records and it's sub-label, Tric-Jam Records. It is a highly anticipated album due to it's 2 year long delay. Through the lengthy wait, not much information about Better In Tongues has been revealed. Based purely off of the very few singles released, it is rumored to be a concept album but it's not clear of what. The closest Rum or Coke have come to explaining exactly what the cryptic title means is when in a verse on Drew Westbrook's ONE where Rum rapped, "If it's Better In Tongues, I'm done keeping it in like a locker", which fans took as a hint that Rum & Coke would write songs about speaking a truth, whatever it may be, and not being afraid of being misunderstood, because it's "better in tongues".

The album was recorded mostly at several studios in California with producers such as inZane, Flame 1&2, Anniken Dahl-Smith, mISTER_b and Tisha Jackson, but majority of it was produced by the duo's very own rapper, Rum, under her new producing name, FancyÑ.

The span gap between Rum & Coke's last studio album, Perks Of Fame and Better In Tongues is the longest wait between records in their entire career. The origins of the album date all the way back to the development of their second record, Epiphany. After claiming to have written and recorded hundreds of songs for their second attempt after the critically panned debut Venom & Versace, it was said that almost 30 songs were close to making the final track list."Obviously we couldn't release all 30 songs, so even though they were all pretty great, we had to stick to one important theme and cut half of the track list." Coke said in a radio interview. Only 13 song made the standard version of Epiphany and the rest were said to be re-recorded and improved upon for Rum & Coke's 3rd album. However, Rum & Coke began work on a mix tape instead, which quickly became an album instead of the earliest version of Better In Tongues that was ready to be shipped. In 2014, Perks Of Fame was released overnight. The duo immediately went back to creating what was originally supposed to be their third album. The first single from their fourth album, Sentenced4Life, was released in June 2014. After the duo couldn't think of a single to follow-up the smash hit, they postponed the album and went back to the studio. Rum's partner at the time, Mariko Kobayashi, cheated on Rum during a live broadcasting of Celebrity Big Brother. Rumors swirled that since there was a possibility that the album was full of love songs for her now ex, Rum did everything in her power to stop the album release and demand for there to be revision. After quickly writing and recording a new song Fragile, it was announced as a single and a snippet of it was posted on Soundcloud in August 2014. From the clip, it seemed to be a song about dating someone only because you felt bad for them. It was scrapped soon after after Rum reportedly, "didn't feel comfortable about the track anymore." It is confirmed that the song was scrapped from the album completely. In November of 2014, a second single was finally released. Hotels became a multiplatinum record and is Rum & Coke's most successful single to date, despite being criticized heavily for it's murderous theme over something as small as being cheated on. From there the album was planned to be released on December 21st, 2014. The record was pushed back at the last minute because according to Coke, "We listened to the album again and it doesn't feel complete. We wont release and incomplete album." The album was rescheduled for a Valentine's Day release in 2015, only days after a huge Superbowl performance. The date was also scrapped and no other release dates have been announced since.

"There was just still so much to tweak." Coke says about the delay of the album. "We already know that we have our core songs, but we wanted to make sure that we also had our cherry on top. We've worked too hard and long on this album for there to be fillers. We wee in the studio re-writing re-arranging and adding new tracks so that the songs only go from good, to great to 'woah, when did Rum & Coke get this good??'" In October of 2015, the 3rd single, Keep It Clean, was released. "We like doing the unexpected. Nobody expected it to be some song about the forced sexuality of women in the business. We wanted the rest of the album to be just like that. [Better In Tongues] had started as an album purely about love, but that's nothing like us. I don't even believe in love [laughs], Coke still can't believe that she fell in love, we just don't make albums about love." Rum laughs while explaining the intent of the record, confirming it to be the first album they've released that isn't completely restricted by a concept. "I think that was the hardest part. When you have a concept, you can actually get to that point where you feel like you've said all you could and therefore, the album feels complete. Having an album with no concept and everything in the world to say.. it became a sort of never ending process."

Despite the "never ending" process, the album is expected in February of 2016. Though there is still no direct date, it is rumored that it will be released on the 14th of February, also widely known as Valentine's Day, due to the official lead single $5 Words, being released only weeks before.

You know things before you know them
Never cry, you just show them
All the details are noted
You appreciate what they don't notice

You know I like to be focused
But you're caught up on this love thing
Why must you waste time dreaming
We can't even find the time to sleep

Why you always gotta go there? Live your life so jaded
Naïvety gets you nowhere, think of how we made it
Spend your days swallowing sand,
Now all that you speak is straight pearls
I'm waiting for you to care a bit more
I'm just waiting for it to all unfurl
Just in case we die, just in case we die
I don't wanna leave, already dead inside

So tell me I belong here
So tell me that I have tried
Because I don't see this ending well
But the world has my eyes

My eyes,
hurt now
I'm tired of always asking how
I hate when I think too much
That just don't ever work out
My eyes,
hurt now
I'm tired of always asking how
I hate when I think too much
That just don't, that just don't work out

Lost in a cold world, right now
All that surrounds is dancing around
Used to be used to changing hues, not right now
Greener pastures that break blue laws, somebody tell me how
They try to paint it out but all I see is red
Feels like the minute I catch on, it's all in my head
Can't vouch for myself but still I rise, no ground
Can't afford change but quick to indemnify somehow

Shutting out the world, I'm tired of thinking for myself
If I bask in my success, I'll only realize how much I've failed
If today the world stood against me, I wouldn't stand in the way
Hum The Vicar of Bray, and still not know my place

But I guess today
Doesn't say much about tomorrow
There's so much pride to swallow
Just thinking about what follows

You could say I'm a little eager, I admit
Spend my days way up north jaded and beyond pretentious
There's a life I'm meant to live, I don't believe in settling
And you better hope I'm not the one, you better hope I'm not the one
My bandwidth is only getting thinner on a daily basis
Talking like they know of, gotta get back to the basics
I'm a fucking stigma, don't let them tell you nothing different
Done about everything and you thought that I was finished?
If anyone else was this stagnant, by now they'd be molded
And the wait just proves it, may not be at the top but it'll always be held open

Open up your mind and be matured
If everybody was on key, it wouldn't mean much to open doors
This voice of mine's getting hoarse, it's hard when the words you speak are barely received
Even those who claim to believe are somewhere fast asleep

But I guess today
Doesn't say much about tomorrow
There's so much pride to swallow
Just thinking about what follows

Do you believe it?
Do you believe it?
Do you believe it?
Do you believe it?
Do you believe?
Oh-oh!

(Still don’t know my place...)

I never more will falter
Until the times do alter
I never more will falter
Until the times do alter
I never more will falter
Until the times do alter
I never more will falter

Until the times do alter

You live in a faux reality with a remote mentality
That's why you can't hang
You live under a dated standard but it's hard to mind your manners
When your bangs ain't straight
Your culture is under attack, they're taking all of your artifacts
And calling them their own
Sometimes black is in but only when it's an orange and shit
It's hard being too bold

You know what it's like to be told,
"Too much! Too much!"
They don't know what it's like to be told, "Too much! Too much!"
You know what it's like to be told, "Too much! Too much!"
They don't know what it's like to be told, "Too much! Too much!"

You got a month, biitch, you got a month
Got at least half of what you want, how could you ask for mo-o-ore?
You got a point, yeaaah, you got a point
But we're just lowering ourselves to your stunts, ain't no need to be so so-o-ore
Who's keeping score, we all know who wins
Your motives are unrealistic, sparked by reverse ignorance
There's no need to bring up race when you know hate only follows
It's hard having a voice when all you do is swallow
I ain’t one to talk

But you know what it's like to be told,
"Too much! Too much!"
They don't know what it's like to be told, "Too much! Too much!"
You know what it's like to be told, "Too much! Too much!"
They don't know what it's like to be told, "Too much! Too much!"

Uh-oh!
You're always asking for…
Uh-oh!
You're not enough , you're…
Uh-oh!
And when you let it show…
Uh-oh!
And when you hold on, you're doing…
Uh-oh!

That hashtag in my selfies?
How anti-police
Confidence in my culture?
That shit is threatening
Someone who's self-empowering?
Overwhelming
Quickly called a supremacist because this society doesn’t see why I should accept me
But then again, maybe this song is

Too long! Too long!
Too long! Too long!
Too long! Too long!
Too long! Too long!

Thing is, I’m not looking for accept in any community but mine’s
Tired of waiting for your shit to smell better with time
I’m uplifting my own, maybe one day you’ll fall in line
I won't let my mores be muted, we’ll never comply

Muzzle on, clothes off
Damn right, you're subjected to it
Play nice, take loss
Don't you know this a cat eat dog world?

These casting couches only get wider, watch that dental turn whiter
Something to make that smile brighter and a little more convincing
Shutting up is the smart thing
Straight to the top, even if it will always remain the far thing
Cash crop, and once you hit your date, there's no need for bothering

For now, we should all unite, then cat fight, then sing about our sad lives
"I'm bored here, they toy hearts" only to keep quiet about the worst parts
This formula is it's own poison,
And those who fake immunity are the chosen

Well it's only called a secret, if you actually plan to keep it
The point is that you make it, no stars are known for subduing
To survive when victimized, sometimes you put yourself through it
They want the shine but never grind, stupid

There's a world out there
Most of us are unaware
The rest are few and far between
We like to muddy the waters but sometimes we keep it clean

Don't it make you feel better?
Being in the know is always better
Smart enough not to soak in your own filth
Privileged to contrast between what is and what isn't real
This wheel,
wasn't invented in a day
A cycle is a circle, you can never find your way out
Vicar of Bray, switch out
Some are made, some are concocted
Just like how the world twirls, there aint no real way to stop it
You just adjust your axis, there's a preference to positions
Find dependence on lean and chase linear angel visions
Only find a problem when believing in superstitions
Mirrors crack and black cats exist, there aint a need for pretension

See you nod along, yet you believe in something special
Feel a fire burning and mistake it for the devil
Doing what they've all done, these are "boundaries you're breaking"
No stars are known for being dull, baby, fake it til you make it

There's a world out there
Most of us are unaware
The rest are few and far between
We like to muddy the waters but sometimes we keep it clean
Long as you keep it clean
That conscious of yours reeks
Can you feel the soap sting?
Baby, come over here and rinse it out, rinse it out

Rinse it out, rinse it out (scrub it down, scrub it down)
Rinse it out, rinse it out (scrub it down, scrub it down)
Rinse it out, rinse it out (scrub it down, scrub it down)
Rinse it out, rinse it out (scrub it down, scrub it down)
Rinse it out, rinse it out (scrub it down, scrub it down)
Rinse it out, rinse it out (scrub it down, scrub it down)
Rinse it out!

There's a world out there
Most of us are unaware
The rest are few and far between
We like to muddy the waters but sometimes we keep it clean
That conscious of yours reeks
Something in the way you think
Just leave that up to me
Baby, come over here and rinse it out

(scrub it, scrub it, down)
Come over here and rinse it out..
(scrub it, scrub it, down)

Can you?

Can you,
whip up a psalm and supper?
Keep it, warm for the thought of me
Can you, accept that I wont be nearer?
Keep it, real, all else was but a dream
Can you, promise you wont go farther?
Keep it, that we're both on the wrong path
Can you, watch that dead end sign grow taller?
Keep it, 'cause then at least there we can still look back

Can you? Because I can't go without..

'Fore we bring the claws out, do you think we could keep it clean?

Keep it.

I think I'm in love
In love with the way you move
Love how you don't make me choose
Break your own rules, you break your own rules
Break your own rules, you break your own rules

They say the fog rises by the morning
So take what you see if you really want it
Even if we wiped the sleep out our eyes and woke up
We'd probably still be distorted
Stuck picking scabs so we never stop hurting
And the way I wrap around ya make you think it's worth it
Shuffling through these angles and you still don't deserve it
We probably could've been picture perfect

(Come touch me now)
But this ain't nothing like before
(Come touch me now)
Can't even remember what it was

How did you get, in my bed?
I was tryna get, you outta my head
We never could control our hands
But this don't mean you get your second chance

No feelings allowed
We're better off
No feelings allowed
Just get me off

Too many complications to our names
Don't you see that you and me are the same?
Tired of the hurt and tired of the pain
So let's just treat this like a game
Don't over think it or it's not right
Too many times that we've both lied
We think we can make it but only fail
If we don't get mixed up, we can prevail

(Come touch me now)

'Cause this ain't nothing like before
(Come touch me now)
Can't even remember what it was

How did you get, in my bed?
I was tryna get, you outta my head
We never could control our hands
But this don't mean you get your second chance

No feelings allowed
We're better off
No feelings allowed
Just get me off

(Don't think, don't think) I think I'm in love
(No love, no love) In love with the way you move
(Touch it, touch me) Love how you don't make me choose
Break your own rules, you break your own rules

(Don't think, don't think) I think I'm in love
(No love, no love) In love with the way you move
(Touch it, touch me)
You break your own rules, you're gonna break me too!

(Come touch me now)
No, this ain't nothing like before
(Come touch me now)
Never even knew what it was

Damn, how did you get, in my bed?
I was tryna get, you outta my head

Pitched Voice

Even love has it's limits , every relationship has an ending
But on the terms we end it is up to you, up to us, up to you
Love is too short for all this fussing, I know something else we can do
Just hold me, cherish that for once I'm finally vulnerable
Go, go!

(In the thundering rain ...) You've always been there
But now , blinder than I thought, I have to ask if you're really here
'Cause though I can feel your skin and touch your hair
I get a stronger sense that there's distance somewhere
Like a dead end is near
Confusion and fear, confused and in fear
Like I'm just driving down this road looking for the middle of nowhere
'Cause that's where I think you are, or at least where I hope
Hate the thought of you somewhere alone in a bar , downing poison like some kind of antidote
Damn, I guess you don't even have a clue how much I need you around
I guess I forgot to tell you how dark I get when there's no one else around
I used to think that I could hold it all down
But that was before life yanked my feet off the ground
The oxygen lessened and I was zoning out
And when I screamed "Let go", it threw me down
And you were nowhere to be found
I'm lying , I just didn't wanna let you down, didn't wanna let you down
I said you can lean on me--I gave you my word but I backed out
Every relationship has an ending but on the terms we end it is up to you
So just hold me tight and cherish that for once I'm finally vulnerable

(If I were you I'd) Take advantage of this moment
Take advantage of this moment

'Cause we both know how complicated it is
To knock down my walls and get me open again
(If I were you I'd)
Take advantage of this moment
Take advantage of this moment

'Cause we both know how complicated it is
To knock down my walls and get me open again

(In the thundering rain...) I really hope you play this
I hope you put 2 and 2 together--I put it in a rap 'cause I couldn't actually say it
Dumb of me to think that through the millions of ears this'll flow through , it'll get to you
But it ain't the matrix...or rocket science
You should know by now that half of the shit I do doesn't really make sense
To the naked eye , my thoughts go deeper than the surface
But no one really expects me to think in the first place, so they never tried to decipher it
But you did and you do, and baby I got a feeling that you always have
But still you ask the same question a billion times, I'll never understand the reasoning behind that
But maybe it's not my place to, maybe this is for the better
Maybe I'll start being completely honest and just maybe we'll stick together
But even you gotta know that you can't just pull out an umbrella every time there's bad weather
'Cause I remember watching a movie or two where kissing in the rain made everything better
It made everything wetter too and that's how we like it, so I wanna try that
I know we haven't been together in while 'cause my schedule is so packed, back to back
But I'm here now and I'm opening up just for you
So just hold me tight and cherish that for once I'm finally vulnerable

(If I were you I'd) Take advantage of this moment
Take advantage of this moment

'Cause we both know how complicated it is
To knock down my walls and get me open again

(If I were you I'd) Take advantage of this moment
Take advantage of this moment

'Cause we both know how complicated it is
To knock down my walls and get me open again

(In the thundering rain...) It's harder to see my tears
It's like when standing here I can trick myself into facing my fears
So maybe instead of me coming inside, you should come out here
'Cause I'm confused and in fear, confused and in fear
Tired of the wind blowing me back every time I'm near
Tired of letting down the one person in the world that I revere
Tired of being the victim of pain and letting the memories steer
Tired of saying I'm tired and ultimately realizing I can't change it
So I'm done morphing myself into something else for someone else when all I gotta do is face it
Knowing that you read my hand and here you stand, tells me you understand, if only you'd just say it
We've both been cut..have no trust...and barely know how to love, mmhmm
But we don't realize how much...we've accomplished...by proving lust can be turned into love mmhmm
I bet you forgot about that, but I didn't
Admit it...
We've came far from our beginning being an ending
So how you know if a break is anything more than an intermission?

(If I were you I'd) Take advantage of this moment
Take advantage of this moment

'Cause we both know how complicated it is
To knock down my walls and get me open again

There ain't no real feelings
No more blanks for us to fill in
Only tryna get my meal in
Just a lamb
When the bites get too deep
And even marks decieve us
Sometimes you gotta silence the screams
Of a lamb
Never said I was a sheep
But what you expect in warm sheets?
No past and 1 path, never was much of a mystery
No take backs but you came back, can I put you out of your misery?
The cold doesn't take it's toll when you're rolling off of my tongue
The truth never sits well but it sounds better in tongues

Better?
You're just a lamb
And no one ever likes the quiet
But the whispers seem to make more sense in private
Been sore for years now, don't need you to co-pilot
Said, I been soar for years now, who needs you to co-pilot?

Better?
Well, when all that hope stays
That single lit candle marks my darkest of days
We all just want to love and be loved but sometimes it don't work that way
Barely have room for myself, I can't get tricked into thinking there's space

Better
No fun
But better

Better
It's no fun
But better now

Better
Never fun
But it's all better
In tongues

(In tongues)
You say that you've been contemplating and all that we had was a reverie
That the wrongs were within my insecurities

(In tongues)
You say that I'm indigenous, because I never learned to speak my conscious
That maybe with a little communication, we would've known there was nothing to accomplish
In the beginning, we would've stopped this

But you're just stalling
Those syllables keep you walled in
And they build the prison
That locks your heart up when you need it the most
And you get devoured
By the lonely hour
The moment could have been ours
But like always, you choked

(In tongues)
There's just so much to say
We could forgive the pain
We could fix our mistakes
Or you could have it your way
Just don't burn your tongue
Just don't burn your tongue

(In tongues)
When you're talking to me, you need to fix yo' tone
I know what I want
It's clear that you don't
Just don't burn your tongue
'Cause you be condescending
With yo' $5 words

I'd say I hate you and you'd just say, "I'm indifferent to thee"
That shit cuts me deep

(In tongues)
I'd say how much I love you, just out of spite and
You'd say something 'bout the seasons and how they revolve around good timing
But it's all a lie

You're just talking
Those syllables keep you walled in
And they build the prison
That locks your heart up when you need it the most
Don't get devoured
(I like to be devoured..)
By the lonely hour
Make the moment ours
You shouldn't have to choke

(In tongues)
'Cause there's just so much to say
We could forgive the pain
We could fix our mistakes
Or you could have it your way
Just don't burn your tongue
Just don't burn your tongue

(In tongues)
When you're talking to me, you need to fix yo' tone!
I know what I want
It's clear that you don't
Just don't burn your tongue
And say some shit you don't mean
With yo' $5 words...

I don't know what to think
When you say what you don't mean
You use those big words
Even when there's no need
If only you'd just speak your truth
Let your words be free
It's better in tongues, I promise, it's better in tongues
You give me that look
As if you don't understand
I want to feel your voice
I've been needing your hands
Speaking to me like a child
Doesn't make you a man
Just let your words be free
It's better in tongues, I promise, it's better..

(In tongues)
Don't burn your tongue
Just don't burn your to-ongue

(In tongues)
When you're talking to me, you should fix yo' tone!
I know what I want
It's clear that you don't

Just don't burn your tongue
And say some shit you don't mean
'Cause you can be condescending
With those $5 words

In the 11th hour, it seems they all run away
Am I coward because I chose to stay?
You say it's impossible, impossible
To read my mixed signals

Well here goes..

You gave me butterflies
(And I'm still sick inside)
I could see our future
(And all of the signs)
I was happy to see you
(Happier that I survived the night)
And now you're making my knees go weak
Shit, I lost all strength standing by your side
Fighting for you and I
Want you to know that I tried
And put up with all your lies

But you want more than a lie
What's truly on my mind?
Those weren't tears that I dried
Just a war cry, they're just a war cry
Those weren't tears that I dried
Just a war cry,
they're just a war cry

I was mistaken, we can't play pretend
Yes, I wanted out, but I was all in
If I'm going down, why not go head first?
Is it wrong that for the wrong reasons I put us first?
I put us first
Knew it would hurt
Guess it worked

But here goes..

You gave me butterflies
(And I'm still sick inside)
I could see our future
(And all of the signs)
I was happy to see you
(Happier that I survived the night)
And now you're making my knees go weak
Shit, I lost all strength standing by your side

It all starts with a veil
No one's themselves when left all out in the open
This.. is our true habitat
The diamonds I hid behind were blinding
But there wasn't much more to see
I know I'm subjected
I don't respond well to rejection
I do as directed
Only to further my own direction
We all have our compositions, but no one sings their own psalms
Why does everyone here speak in tongues?
I'm left feeling the sounds they don't

My baby wont let me see his soul
Said a face like his could never do no wrong
Said a man like him just has to lead cause that's what's right
Said steps like his could only be taken ambitious and blind

So who am I, if not what he wants
Put his mask on, let's play
Take him head on, at his own game
No longer an opponent, just prey

Oh, oh
We can't all handle the truth, oh-oh
There's a mask for you and you and you, oh-oh
Slip it on, watch em fall through
Nobody's seeing this love thing through, they don't deserve a glimpse of you

No, no
None of us deserve a truce, no-no
None of us could ever function in 2, no-no
Nah, not until we stay true to our real habitat
Behind the mask, behind the mask

My baby wont let me fucking be
Swearing there's got to be more to me than what she sees
I know myself and let you know what I want, that's the deal
I'm the best damn person in the goddamn world, go smell the daffodils

Really, who are we, if not what we want to believe
It's so easy, don't think
Been stuck hiding, trying to stall
But what you ignore, evolves

Oh, oh
We can't all handle the truth, oh-oh
There's a mask for you and you and you, oh-oh
Slip it on and you'll never fall through
Nobody else is seeing this love thing through, get your last glimpse of you

Oh, oh
None of us deserve a truce, no-no
None of us could ever function in 2, no-no
Nah, not until we stay true to our real habitat
Behind the mask, behind the mask

Living out my days behind the mask
Living out my days behind the mask
Living out my days behind the mask

I like being alone
I'm only out here for the one thing I can't do on my own
Break a few hearts, earn a few scars--I expect nothing more
So all aboard
No flare guns, no life boats
If you actually manage to stay afloat
I got ice on deck, something for your neck and a few bandages
Rest your head, these mind games come flying in when you can't handle it

Been there, we've done that but now you're back in
It's inauguration, once you step up, you get sworn in

This love thing never does turn out right
This love thing always comes with a price, a price

Will it be your head, shoulders, knees, or toes?
Don't you know ho-ow this part goes?
Will it be a goodbye kiss or a first-aid kit?
Are you interested in a few bandages?
Check your...

Damn right, I've been bitter this whole year
(uh)
Fresh off of the front line, don't know why I'm here (uh)
But since you're so close now...
Stay a while, stay a while, stay a while
Fuck in the meantime, it's now or never
Call on me whenever, don't expect an answer
I'm here to scratch your back, mainly when it doesn't itch
I'm going for the long run, don't trip up on that inch

This love thing never does turn out right, even when it feels right
This love thing always comes with a price, a price

(Noo!)
I'm coming for your head, shoulders, knees and toes
Tell me when you're ready to go

(Noo!)
Not looking for a goodnight kiss or a first-aid kit
I'm just interested in a few bandages

Ooh, yea, ooh
You take what you can get
When there's no cake, you learn to eat like the savages

Ooh, yea, ooh
There's plenty to pop when you're heart aches
But you could always draw the attention away, walk into a new flame and inflict some new pain

Ooh, yea, ooh
Found myself in a place that was too much for someone with no one to embrace
Asking Alice "Why these instructions so broad? Why can't these ceilings keep the pain?"
Yea... go and ask Pharrell just how I'm doing
Don't pick your scabs just yet, I'm getting to it

Ain't it funny?
They all swear that they love me
Only wants what's best for my conditions
But drop no warnings at the get in
Everybody's just tryna get in
You see, there's love and then there's addiction
It don't take much to speak in tongues, long as you know your true diction

And defy it
It's not a lie if we never defined it

X-O X-O X-O-T-I-O

I slipped away, I'm fading through these phases
Should've listened to me, baby I'm crazy for your chasing
My demon's dominate, through these unrealistic fantasies
And I just let them manifest
And I just let them manifest
And I just let them manifest
Forget what they say, this is true romance
Write me a song while I do this dance
Baby, are you watching? Are you watching? Are you watching... are you watching...?

I need confirmation that I'm yours
Tell me what you're looking at them other girls for?
Stop being so selfish, baby, come through
I was blue but I feel better talking to you
I know I've called you on the phone about 10 times
But thinking of anything else seems to numb my mind
Drove by and your car wasn't outside
Love you so damn much I could fucking die

XO til I overdose, XO til I overdose
Cold sweats to the tip of my toes every time you pull me close (XO!)
Haunted by your ghost, controlled and I've been diagnosed (XO!)
I'm just tryna get a hold of what I need the most, you're what I need most
XO til we overdose, XO til we overdose
I know, baby, I know you didn't mean it when you said it was over a week ago
Setting fires to this road, now that we're home, we can finally walk it alone (XO!)
I'm just tryna get a hold of what I need the most, you're what I need most

If I just let it be
Simply did everything
That got her over me
Would you finally see?
What would you do? What would you think? Would..
You come back to where you belong? I..
Remember when all of me was your own
When my heart was your home

Can't pretend like you don't care
You know that just wouldn't be fair
These hotels haven't been there
These hotels just don't compare
I know you find somewhere else to lay
When you're away

But at the end of the day
You'll spend every cent to stay
And not in these hotels
I'm where you reside
Not a place you visit from time
Like these hotels

Guess I was the one Chasing Phases over that One Night
Guess you really left Graffiti and I'm Sentenced4Life
I guess you're my 23 and this is my War Cry
You'll always be my Poster Girl and it blows my mind
I hope these Fille de Joies don't keep you up All Night Long
In a world full of Hotels, I hope you find a home
I think I'm Better Off looking for my own
In time, these Bandages will peel off on their own
I could've been Your Baby in more than just Fun & Games
As Fragile as we are, I could still take your name
Because Guns & Roses, I don't believe this was in vain
You're always passing by but I'm still greatful that came

So come for me, come-come for me
I don't need a true story, just roll your tongue for me
I know you can lie to me... But can you lie for me?
It's all Better In Tongues? Get Vulnerable for me
Though it all took place Right Before My Eyes
Even Gravity knows where your true heart lies
'Cause lies ain't all you give
Might not know where you was but we both know where you live

At the end of the day
You'll spend every cent to stay
And not in these hotels
I'm where you reside
Not a place you visit from time
Like these hotels

Oh, oh, oh....

I'm not one for reruns
But y'all wont have all the fun
You can run
But you can't hide from all that you've done
And you shot through my heart, right? Right.
If I pulled this trigger, we'd be even, right?
Right.

These hotels that be in your bed
Could send a bullet flying for your head
That's why you should be home instead...

But what if he went missing?

You never know who you'll meet
What if there's another bitch like me?
You should be home, not in these

9-1-1, It's a critical emergency
Better duck duck, she done pulled out her big Tommy
Nothing you see is what it seems, everything here's all tall tales and faltered dreams
So dumb dumb, she's a black widow waiting to besiege

Boom boom, no remorse in her eyes
Bang bang, no scruple on her mind
Cha-ching, they'll pay the ultimate price, no man to be left alive
Medusa, she's turning them to stone
On a hunting spree 'cause one man did her wrong

You murdered her!
Murderer!
How could you murder us?!
Guess we'll be murdering too..

3-2-1, all the monkeys fell off the bed
Shame shame should have listened to what mommy said
Warned you 'bout girls like this, take your life once they get into your head
Now you're done done, 'cause you didn't feel like listening

Boom boom, no remorse in her eyes
Bang bang, no scruple on her mind
Cha-ching, they'll pay the ultimate price, no man to be left alive
Medusa, she's turning them to stone
On a hunting spree 'cause one man did her wrong

You murdered her!
Murderer!
How could you murder us?!
Guess we'll be murdering too..

Drip drop, how does the red rum taste? I wanna see it all over your face
Baa baa, guess I changed my clothes, now you see me and now you don't
Toot toot, baby blow your horn, I thought you were the one I blindly adorned

You murdered her!
Murderer!
How could you murder us?!
Guess we'll be murdering too..

Oh no no no
No no no no no-oo

They’re all the same, they’re all the same
No need to blame, it’s all a game
(Oh no..)
There’s no need to sign up, we all get to play
Count all your lives and hope you don’t break

Boom boom, no remorse in her eyes
Bang bang, no scruple on her mind
Cha-ching, they'll pay the ultimate price, no man to be left alive

Once upon a time I was innocent
Do you still think I was heaven sent?
Mr. Big, had them girls chasin'
Now tell me, exactly where that boss went, went?
Got you walking 'round, wearing my scent
Yea, the way I put it down got you all bent
Mr. Big, had them girls chasin'
Now tell me, exactly where that boss went, went?

It's all just fun and games, it's all just fun and games
It's all just fun and games, it's all just fun and games
It's all just fun and games, it's all just fun and games
It's all just fun and games and I know you wanna play

Don't even try to doubt it, doubt it
The way yo' heart beats and eyes close when I kiss on it
The way you flip out when you make plans and I forget
Our time, yo' clock
Tick tock
Who's watch is it?

How many guys have you said that to before?
You got them addicted the way they wanting more
but I am nothing like those rude boys you mess with
You going to have get use to this stick shift
You thought this was automatic
didn't think together we'll be problematic
The main man you looking for is right here,
in the front
you been with lot of boys?
But will show you how to stunt
Never been the runt, but somehow the underdog
fuck'em they always on toes for the unguard
and I have to much for me to lower my pants
crafty young nigga that can break your stance
so these other boys don't have a chance
So you just want play but I'm a hard game
Bring a lot to table and none of it is tame

It's all just fun and games, it's all just fun and games
It's all just fun and games, it's all just fun and games
It's all just fun and games, it's all just fun and games
It's all just fun and games and I know you wanna play

Now you've come across some girls who you should've never looked in the eye
The type who always lied but never needed an alibi
Lucky enough to make it out alive, dumb enough to let that naivety survive
So before you come up with some cheesy line, let me save us both some time
Look I've been around the block, here and there
Paid my dues, skipped out on fairs
Made it sound like I really cared, just to get my hair done
Threatened to move on when I didn't get what I want
Sucked them dry, left them broke
Hit the road, changed my phone
Learned how to keep in touch, even when they didn't want me back
Laying out all the facts, now you guess what's been left in my past

Yeah, I've made my bed and I ain't here to mess it up
Don't come crying when you think you've had enough
If you've come looking for love I suggest that you ho-o-o-old on
Didn't I tell you 'bout the last time I he-e-e-eld on?
Yes, I've made my bed and I ain't here to mess it up
Now that I'm in your head, I'll say when you've had enough
Been everybody's baby but I think that you've been he-e-e-eld wrong
If I take you for a ride would you ho-o-o-old on?

Okay, now now wont you sit back and relax for a minute
Just sip while it's cold, you don't really have to know what's in it
Enough ain't enough, we can't walk the clouds without abusing the limits
Funny how with every cup your head gets lighter yet deeper in feelings
Do you see the love in my eyes? Do you see the love in my eyes?
Do you smoke the slowly rise and cover up all of the lies?
Do you see the fire inside, the desire to claim what's mine, oops, make you mine
Over influenced by what I'm doing, under the influence of Hennessy
Now do you see what happens when you pursue some silly dream?

Yeah, I've made my bed and I ain't here to mess it up
Don't come crying when you think you've had enough
If you've come looking for love I suggest that you ho-o-o-old on
Didn't I tell you 'bout the last time I he-e-e-eld on?

Erica: you hear that? that's "redrum" having its way with me. I don't even care that we just met and redrum doesn't have a condom. I'll take that risk.

Nina: but would you call redrum in the morning, love?

Erica: good god no.

Nina: good call. A splendid rogering, but not the kind you want to take to dinner.

Tyler: Alright, First I'm going to say watch all the haters and fake fans just jump all over this with an overreaction say things like snatching favs, the slayage, and queens. Me personally. As in "MY OWN OPINION" as in "MY" view of the album I think Epiphany was better. This album was good, there was a lot of good tracks on it, but Epiphany was the their best work and that was just the second album but it was built so well with the production and music and just overall quality of work. Like When have you ever seen a group put out 20 yes TWENTY tracks and all of them be good.

OOC: Great job on the lyrics and everything. I think this was probably the most anticipated urban album on the forums to be honest lol. And I'm glad the song with Izzy was finally put to use, I was getting worried for a second. Oh and I like that sound alike much more than the original! But yes each song is pretty great and you're always good with the deep and poetic lyrics which I envy.
