The EP had somewhat chart success, as it peaked inside the Top 10 and had success worldwide on iTunes - though short-lived only. Things went quiet around Barbie Doll and the reasons are still unknown, last thing we got to know was that she experienced issues behind the scenes. What exactly? That remains a mystery. The whole character Barbie Doll is a mystery. "Asleep" is the latest single by Barbie Doll. The song was written and produced by Barbie Doll, with a total length of 3 minutes and 17 seconds. The production of the Indie Pop/Bubble Goth Track is being kept very simple yet creepy, dark and mysterious. Listeners compare the track to previous 2015 release "Dead". The song itself shines thanks to Barbie's raspy vocals that smoothly go with the production, giving it a usual Barbie Touch, that makes her so unique. Lyrically, the song is about a rape victim trying to find the light in the dark tunnel. The song 'tackles rape and tries to say that you shouldn't give up. I am so glad I checked out your music. Riley is a fan and put me onto this. I must say that this song is hauntingly beautiful. The lyrics are so simplistic yet the subject matter is a pretty enormous, dark and somewhat taboo one among musicians. You've tackled it brilliantly in my opinion. Pretty heavy stuff here.
