BLOOD OF WECZ IN RARE SUPPORT SLOTJust a little update from the band tonight....as you all know, the guys are hitting the world tour big time in July, along with CHIMERA, amongst many others. Wecz have a couple of days off between leaving South America and herading far far east, and have decided to fill that by returning the favour to one of their UK support acts, CHIMERA, for two nights only, in Japan. Ryan Lee, guitarist of BoW said, "It's been a hell of a long time since we supported anyone to be honest. We're used to headlining our own big arenas, and being under pressure so it'll be way way cool to open for someone else for just a coupla days. And what better way to do that than return the favour to Chimera, who are our good buddys. Be sure to check us out in Japan!" Chimera released this KICKASS poster  |

The new album update
We finally have it!....a date that is!
I know Ryan had told you all on the last update that the album was due on "around the 19th" of May, but we have got it all wrapped up, and it's almost good to go!
I'm delighted to say that for the first time ever, I have totally mixed and produced this album by myself, and I have never felt more acomplished in my life! Here we are at our 15th album, who would have ever thought Blood Of Wecz would ever have gotten that far? And in that time we have achieved so much! And yet here I am telling you all that my proudest moment has come from just producing the album!
haha, anyway we wanna thank you guys for your patience, cos you've had to wait too long for this album...but we'll cut you a deal! We'll have this album out on the NINTH OF MAY 2010, and you lot have to promise to know ALL the words for the start of the world tour! Im serious :p
So, yeah there you have it...the 15th BLOOD OF WECZ album, due out on May 9th 2010....
...oh and yeah, it's gonna be called "Memories of a Dying Atheist"

As a further point, the new album, to celebrate the band making it to 15 albums, will be released in three very different formats, each with a different front cover artwork.

Hi Weczians (I just made that up, do you like it?) Ryan here again...always seems to be me these days. Anyway, a coupla little things for you today on Wecz.com.... 1. We have been literally laid out flat with exhaustion all week since the announcement on Sunday night, but we want to thank EVERYONE who supported Blood Of Wecz and brought us that MAMMOTH fucking win in that competition. This is truly huge for us, and to come back after so long on the backburners and win a competition so prestigious was just immense. Plus, winning something which allowed us to just be us, playing pure unadulterated death metal to you guys was the absolute greatest thing in the world! Huge congrats to Mind and to Reckoner as well! You guys are fucking amazing and it hurt us to win against such great bands! All I can say apart from that is that our UK tour with Mind coming along with us, is gonna be fucking mental! 2. It appears, according to an article that there has been a "leak" of sorts on the internet. We were recording our new video in secret, and it would appear that some unscrupulous pap has got in to the studio and snapped us at work. Thankfully he said he couldnt hear the music and so it'll still be a surprise to you guys...but since it's out there anyway...here are the slightly blurry and one tiny, pictures of us recording the new video...   |

Howdy, y'all....just a coupla words from Ryan this afternoon....
Hey guys out there in cyber world *waves*....um we just wanted to let you know that the entire world tour over the summer has now completely SOLD OUT....except for the huge 115,000 capacity Hyde Park, but thats right at the end of the tour anyway, so we still have aaaageeeesss to sell it out...right?
Anyway, we promised you a big announcement, and here it is...because of how quickly the tickets sold out, and how amazing the crowds always are in this particular city (coupled with the fact that the gig is outside, but shhhh), we have decided that we will RECORD A NEW LIVE DVD AT MILTON KEYNES BOWL!! This DVD will not only contain live footage though...oh no....
What we want is to bring the whole experience to DVD...so the cameras will start rolling the second we leave the stage the previous night, and will document our every move...we're talking after parties, signings with the crowd, meeting fans, whatever, until we reach Milton Keynes.
From there, we will document what we do during the day, you will see exclusive top secret soundcheck rituals and all that shit, it'll be epic!
Then, onto the actual show, pending the approval of our buddies in Mind and Chimera, we would like to show the full gig, completely uninterrupted, including both support acts! This would be (we think) a first in live DVD world, and would add an authenticity to the live experience!!
Obviously, this will require a lot of footage, but fuck, if it needs to be a 6 disc box set, then it'll be done!!

Holy shit! We can't wait for the DVD to come out. Sounds epic! We like the idea of filming not just the show but everything that happens in between. Thats a kick ass concept. We will be eagerly waiting for the DVD!

Evenin' gang! A little message coming at you from Wecz HQ tonight! Whilst the band are on holiday pre world tour, we have just recieved back from the printers, the new artworks for two of the formats available on the new Wecz album!! As Ryan promised last month, the album (named Memories of Atheism Past) will feature a concept of a man who, in his dying moments, is contemplating the afterlife in terms of his views as an atheist, wondering what will become of him if he is wrong...songs will alternate between heaven themed and hell themed (all still in the brutal death style you have come to love) and will bring the story to a conclusion....BUT...in two different ways! One version of the album will feature bonus tracks (3 of them) - about hell, whilst the other will feature a 15 minute epic classical piece (mixed with death) which will draw the album to a beautiful conclusion. There will also be a third version, as promised, although it is yet to be announced. All versions will be released on May 21st (slight delay) Version one (with the 15 minute epically classical death metal outro) will feature this artwork!!  Version two (with the three properly old school hell influenced death metal bonus tracks) will feature this artwork!!  Hope you are all as excited as we are about these new albums!! BoW.com |
