Bside: Unchained Melody (cover)

Released: August 3rd
Label: Junction Records

About coming of age and believing yourself and staying true to who you are, "Fifteen", is a masterful yet primal tour-de-force of folk/idie pop and rock that reveals a young strong talent that should surely be regarded as one of the best finds of this year, completely separating herself from the generic singers of today. There is a sheer vitality contained within the four minutes of the track that is as rare to find as it is great to hear. Produced by herself, her father Mitch Green and their exclusive music producer Andrew Blake, the track avails in capturing a powerfully studio sound that sinks into a persons ear. The track also explodes in a series of powerful verses and choruses that are enhanced by Michelle's heavy and sweeping vocal delivery. Instrumentally the song has many blends of the ukulele, forceful vocals and present drumming. All together her voice powerfulness and ability as well as the heavy instruments in the background is sure to engage the listener and most likely have them listening over and over again.

The B-side cover of The Righteous Brothers 'Unchained Melody' is equally as strong. Michelle Green proves to us that she has the emotion and vocal ability to pull of such an epic and vocally challenging song. Michelle brings her vocals to the next level signing along with the chords and belting the words "Are You Still Mine" at each verse. Emotionally powerful enough to make someone break down in tears, Michelle deserves the respect from many of the top singers in the business of today, because many are upstaged by her delivery in this classic blue eyed soul track recorded in the 1960's. With Michelle's powerful belts, harmonies and melodies, much of the industry should just keep their eyes on this 15 year old.

Quote:
"This is the debut single from our latest addition to Junction Records, Michelle Green, she's an incredible talented and we're honoured to have her on board. I know that there was another couple of labels interested in signing her and we're delighted that Michelle has decided to sign with Junction Records. She has an incredible future with Junction Records and we will back her 100%."
- Max Armstrong

" G2L is so excited about this song!"

Wow, congratulations to the people at Junction Records, this is a big day for you guys! GirlSpice and Daniel are two of the most talented artists in the music industry, so you guys must be very proud of yourselves for signing them. I can honestly say that if we weren't already signed to Hot Eye Records, this company would be the first place we'd ask for a record deal.
-Eric Quillington
Kid Anything- Indie/Britpop/Shoegaze; influenced by Sigur Ros, XXYYXX, Kanye West, Blur, Oasis

(Bringing together an eclectic group of influences, Ulysses' songs are sung with carefree abandon by Nick Junk)

Kurt Ulysses - Songwriter, Guitarist, Backup Vocalist
Nick Junk - Vocals, Mojo

Infinite- Alternative/Experimental Rock; influenced by Muse, Radiohead, and The Beatles

(Known best for their experimental music and their frontman's eccentric behavior, the band disbanded after Eric Quillington's death to pursue solo careers or, in Matt Robert's case, peace of mind. Infinite released four albums over the course of their career; Blue Nebula, Midnight Skies, Insomnia, and Dancing about Architecture.)

Eric Quillington (Deceased) - Lead Vocals, Lead Guitar, Piano, Primary Lyricist
Matt Roberts - Bass
Greg Oldson - Drums, Backup Vocals, Secondary Lyricist
Amelia Florentine - Keyboards, Piano, Lyricist, Backup Vocals

"When asked 'how do you write?' I invariably answer, 'one word at a time', and this answer is invariably dismissed. But that's all it is. It sounds too simple to be true, but consider the Great Wall of China, if you will: one stone at a time, man. That's all. One stone at a time. But I've read you can see that motherfucker from space without a telescope."

Greg Walls: We couldn't be any happier about our two new recruits and it's mind blowing that this label created by a struggling 23 year old musician has managed to be one of the big labels in the music industry, It's a huge honour to have both GirlSpice and Daniel signed and we're on cloud nine right now, probably the greatest day in this labels small history and we'd have loved to have signed Infinite but Hot Eye Records got there first, but I can safely say that your at an incredible label and we're honoured to be in such company as Hot Eye Records. Thanks for your high praise, it's really appreciated.

NEW SIGNING
UserPostedImage

Junction Records are pleased to announce the signing of the unknown Manchester based band Fathers Of Fury. They've been a recent success, having their demo played on local radio and coming second in a battle of the bands competition. Jake Wilson flew over to England on business and caught a couple of gigs, one of which happened to be Fathers Of Fury and they made a very good impression on him and the rest is History as they say. We look forward to seeing the development of this band under the guidance of Max, Jake and Greg at Junction Records.

In other news keep checking back here to read about a couple of new developments at Junction Records.

MESSAGE FROM GREG WALLS
Hello Everybody
I'm here to tell you all that I've officially left my role at Junction Records, this is an incredible label, home to so many talented acts and I've enjoyed every minute of turning this small independant label run by a rockstar into one of the biggest record labels around. I leave my role with a heavy heart but I'm not gonna be gone for very long, I'm launching my very own record label, I felt the timing was right and the experience I have, I feel with help me create something incredible. The doors to my new label will open this Saturday and the sign on the door will say Studio60Records. If you wanna drop by or send me a demo feel free, The office is located just off of Mulholland Drive, in Los Angeles.
Thanks for listening.

Greg

Chimera Signed
Formed in 2007, formerly known as Smash Up, Chimera have made fast progress from being a support band in a small club, to an almost arena headlining band,
it was in 2008 when they released 2 albums, 'Confessions' and 'Tomorrow We Die' [being an album that got 5 stars or 10/10 on every review], they toured in support of the two of them continuosly, forcing them to write 2009's 'Picking Up Old Pieces', which itself, was a very dissapointing album, they took a short hiatus after this, to release 2010's 'This Concept' - after a UK tour, the band were ready to hut Europe, but the day before came a very unfortunate accident, where drummer Luke Jelt passed away in his home in June, after an unexpected visit from newley announced drummer James Hollway, they band practiced with him from late august after being on a break to get to grips with the situation.

The band are currently working on an untitled 6th album, and have confirmed they will not be heading into the studio untill around December - February at the earliest, their album is expected between Spring - Autumn 2011

This morning a deal was struck up for a new owner to take charge of Junction Records. He may be unknown to many but he has massive experience in the record industry, the brand new owner of Junction Records is Lucy Tyrell’s father Jackson Tyrell.
He has previous music industry experience having managed a number of 80’s rock bands and has also been involved in the industry for 20+ years as a record producer but has mainly produced small unnoticed indie records, he was also in a moderately successful band and continue‘s to perform but has never released any material.
He takes over the label after the death of his daughter Lucy Tyrell who was the co-founder of Junction Records.
He had this to say in a statement.

Jackson Tyrell wrote:
“It’s been a tough time for me and my family but I think the right decision was to continue to have this label up and running, Max and Lucy made it a massive success and you just have to look at the incredible acts on this label to know the hard work put into making this label huge. Hopefully I can continue the legacy Max and Lucy have created but I’d like to put my own stamp on things, I’m not afraid to make tough decisions and you’ll see that when I’m in charge.”

MILES IN MINUTES SIGNED!!!

UserPostedImage

As some of you may recall Miles In Minutes stormed onto the music scene in early 2010 under the name "The Left Side Of The Moon" who were grunge at the time. After the first Cd by TLSOTM the band announced they were no longer together and that Will Walker(Former Guitarist), Robert Trent(Former Bassist), and Kyle Brady(Current Drummer) would begin work on a new project. Short after the announcement the current trio announced they would be adding lead vocalist Buster Cowings to the lineup and the band would be under the name Miles In Minutes. After the release of their debut album the band added Mike Schmied(Current Guitar and Keys) to the band. The band released a follow up EP that was nothing less then a disappointment. Shortly after the release of their follow up EP they announced MIM would be breaking up as a band. Kyle and Mike continued in the music industry filling in with bands like Suburban Sunrise and The Walls. When the announcement of the All Around The World talent competition the two asked Buster if he would be interested in joining the two in the show. Buster agreed and they are now in the Top 3 of the show. The trio will be on this years Warped Tour and have announced that they are discontinuing all former Cd's the band had released and that they are starting over.
