The Days Following Battle of the Bands
Jack Straw:
For Jack, things were on the up. Ever since Battle of the Bands people started to look at him in a whole different light, he is no longer a failure. He is part of a great Rock Band! He spent the days following Battle of the Bands relaxing, he didn't actually talk to any of the other boys for at least two days. He has some time off from work so he took advantage of that and his quarter of the £5000 prize money from coming in second place, and went out shopping. He obviously didn't have enough to buy himself a new car or anything, but he still had enough to get himself some nice new clothes and an expensive watch. Two night after Battle of the Bands, Jack went out onto the town, he went alone in hope of finding a couple of lads or ladies that he knew; wearing some of his flashy new clothes he went into a local nightclub to see if he could find anybody he knew. Being unsuccessful in finding anybody, Jack sits at the bar and orders himself a pint. Within 10 minutes a girl who was probably in her very early 20's walks up to him and asks him; "Are you Jack Straw? From Fathers of Fury?". Jack smiles to himself and looks up into her eyes. He is about to answer but then stops. Stunned by her beauty. Jack then notices she is obviously starting to get uncomfortable, because he is just staring at her. "Yeah, yes that would be me," he says, then looking into her eyes he asks, "and you are?" The girl returns his stare, "My name is Alexis Jones". Jack asks her to sit, and they start talking. They talk for an hour and a half, and when he looks at the time he realises it is almost one a.m. "I am so sorry, but i should really be going now. It has been great talking to you, here is my number." Jack scrawls his number on a beermat and gives it to her. Alexis looks up at him, and gives him a sad smile; "Why do you have to go?" Jack stops, and thinks about it for a second; "I'm meeting up with the lads at midday tomorow, and i need to be up and ready - it has honestly been great meeting you and..." She gets up and kisses him. "and... and... Do you wanna come back to mine?" Alexis looks up at him and just nods. Jack and Alexis then head back to his house...
Ollie King:
Ollie spent the first day after the event at Talia's house, making up for the time he had spent rehearsing the show, after 18 months of being together constantly it was a bit of a change, and he felt as if he had to make it up to her. He too her out to one of the most expensive restaurants in Manchester. Ollie was soon back in her good books. The next morning, Ollie woke up around Talia's house with her head laying on his chest, he just lay there thinking about recent events. He thought about his chance meeting with the other lads, and the amazing show, and also about what is next for the group. The one thing that made him worry was, what if the group takes off and him and Talia spend even less time together? What is going to happen to their relationship? Talia starts to stir and he pushes the thought to the back of his mind. "You want a cuppa babe?" He asks her gently, she just nods and rolls over so he can get up. Ollie walks down the stairs after putting on Talia's pink satin dressing gown, and puts the kettle on. The kettle boils and he goes back up stairs with the two hot drinks. He puts her drink down on the cabinet next the bed. Ollie sits down on the edge of the bed and looks at Talia, admiring her slim figure and her beautiful brown hair. What would he do without her? A thought hits him; but he pushes it away instantly. Then it comes back and he thinks to himself, 'well we have been together for 18 months now...' and then the thought is gone as he remembers he made arrangements to meet his brother today. "I'm gonna get in the shower, i'm meeting up with my brother and i told him i would be at his for midday. You know what he is like," Ollie gets up and then gets ready. Within the hour he is ready and out the door; and by twelve Ollie is at his brothers house. They exchange pleasantaries and then get up to date with one another. Ollie asks his brother about what he should do with his idea, "Go for it, you are the only one who knows how you feel." Ollie smiles and agrees. He thanks his brother and eventually leaves, but rather than heading home he goes straight to the finest jewelers in the area. He picks out the most expensive ring he can afford and head straight back to Talia's house. He knocks on the door and gets down on one knee. Talia opens the door and looks down to see the most amazing ring she had ever seen, and behind it - Ollie. "T, will you make me the happiest guy in the world? and Marry me?" Tears come to her eyes as she nods her head vigourously and then dives at him. Ollie hugs her fiercely and whispers in her ear "I Love You"...
Isaac Thomson:
Isaac imediately picks up a fever and has to rest for the next day. He hasn't felt this bad since... Well, his stepfather... Isaac has a lot of time to think, and he soon comes to the conclusion that he just isn't made to be in the spotlight. "I'm gonna quit the band." He texts all of the guys and calls a meeting around his house for two days time. The night after he sent the message, Freddie knocks on his door. Isaac lets him in and they chat. "I'm gonna quit the band Freddie. I don't think i was made for..." Freddie stands up looks at Isaac and says "Shut Up. You are chickening out. You dont wanna leave this band, your just pussying out. Don't be so selfish. It the one good thing that ever happened to me, and Jack too. You leaving is just gonna send our lives back into that shit hole where they were before!" Isaac looks at the ground. Unhappy with what Freddie has said, but he knows its the truth, its one of the only good things thats ever happened to him either, the only time he has ever been included in something. He looks at Freddie "I'll think about it" Knowing that he is going to continue - but trying to make himself look like less of a push over. "You can go now, i need my rest" Isaac says, "I will see you tomorow at twelve". Freddie gets up and leaves. Isaac then instantly goes to bed...
Freddie Johnson:
Freddie took the opportunity to go and visit his grandmother, he hadnt seen her in a while. He arrived and his grandmother embraced him with as much force as she could. Freddie could feel her frail arms wrap around him and realised how old she was getting. Freddie took his grandmother into the lounge area and sat her down. They had a chat and got up to date with eachothers news, his grandmother seemed very impressed with the Battle of the Bands result, but he knew she was just expressing an interest so that he wouldnt leave her and not come back. After cooking dinner for his grandmother and eating with her, he decided to leave. Just after he said goodbye and gave her one last hug, he walked out of the front door and received a text message from Isaac. 'Meet at mine, 2 days from now, midday, Isaac'. Freddie knew exactly what Isaac wanted to say, and he didnt like it. The next day, Freddie went over to see Isaac, to make sure he could give him a good old talking too. He knocked on the door and waited patiently for Isaac to open the door. When he goes inside they sit and chat for a while, Freddie knows that Isaac is trying to build up to saying it, "I'm gonna quit the band Freddie. I don't think i was made for..." Freddie's suspisions were correct, "Shut Up. You are chickening out. You dont wanna leave this band, your just pussying out. Don't be so selfish. It the one good thing that ever happened to me, and Jack too. You leaving is just gonna send our lives back into that shit hole where they were before!" This makes Isaac look down at the floor, Freddie just stares at him, waiting for his reply. "I'll think about it" he says, Freddie takes this as he will stay - knowing that Isaac is just trying to look like a bigger man, but leaving him to feel that way rather than letting him down. "You can go now, i need my rest" Isaac says, "I will see you tomorow at twelve". Freddie gets up and leaves, going straight home, happy with his little mission. Freddie gets home and goes and plays the drums for a bit to relieve some of his pent up frustration. He then goes to bed to rest for the next day...
At Isaac's House... 12:00
Isaac waits for the arrival of his friends; first to arrive is Jack with a huge grin on his face. "Why are you so happy?" Isaac says to Jack. "Well, I've met someone" He grins again. This just makes Isaac feel like crap; why doesn't he ever get the girls? Before he can say anything else, Freddie walks through the door. He looks Isaac straight in the eye and then frowns; Jack sees this but chooses to ignore it - knowing its never good to get in Freddie's way when he is in a bad mood. Freddie sits down and waits for the last of them to arrive. Half an hour later Ollie finally arrives. He is in a good mood and it relieves a bit of the tension between the group. "Wuhey! Guess who's getting MARRIED!!!" Isaac and Jack rush over to congratulate him, "Well in man!" Jack exclaims. "Hey, come on, we are here for a reason. So are you gonna say it Isaac or am I?" Freddie almost shouts. The whole room looks over at him, then at Isaac. "Well?" Ollie says. "I was having doubts. Doubts about the band. I didn't think i deserved to be in it. But Freddie came over and told me I was being stupid. It was then I realised, that we could go somewhere, we could be something. I think we should release a demo to some local radio stations, and then try and get signed - or just go independent. But either way, i think we should try and really get into the music industry. I mean we are deffinately good enough, we just have to believe." Isaac's words stun Freddie, he had known that he had changed his mind, but he had never thought that Isaac would go all the way and think about going main stream. "Yes," Freddie exhales, "Let's do it boys!"
And so, Fathers of Fury decided that Music was what they wanted to do. And so it begins.
