Roman McHankard was born and raised just outside of Little Rock Arkansas. His father is a small market owner and his mother stayed at home to keep his house tidy. Roman has an older brother; however Roman and his older brother didn’t get along and haven’t spoken since Roman’s older brother moved out. Roman always did well in school, every year he would take 2-3 advanced classes in high school and get on the honor roll yearly. Roman was also quite successful with the ladies too; he always had a date or some kind of late night fling.
Roman had his world turned upside down when he turned sixteen, and a girl who he had a fling with had gotten pregnant. She gave birth to a little girl, who Roman named Faith. Little Faith was born on May 16th, 2004. Roman to assistance with his mother; Roman continued to be successful in school and was a major fatherly figure to Faith. Although, Don did have to give up all his late nights with girls. He was fine with that; he wasn’t ready to have another kid on his hands.
While taking care of Faith, Roman learned to play the guitar. He taught himself to play it once it became clear that Faith had an interest in the guitar. After a while Roman was able to master the guitar and play it beautifully for his little girl. Once Roman graduated high school, he had a tough choice; either to go to college to further his potential, or stay home to take care of his growing little girl. In the end he decided to go to Arkansas State University, since it wasn’t far from home.
Roman decided to go for music major, since his daughter enjoyed hearing the guitar so much. He continued to work on both the guitar and his voice, while studying music history and how to make a song. Don became fascinated in how music works and he vastly studied it. He believed he had everything down to a science. He believed over time that someday he would be able to make some imprint in the music industry. But Roman soon realized a trait he needs to make the music industry that he didn’t had. His ability to write songs. Roman could make tunes with his guitar, and he could make up melodies in his head. But once it came to writing them down; Roman couldn’t think of what to expand to them. He didn’t have the ability to write a full song down. Even with that in mind Roman continued to work at got his music major and went home.
Roman continued to work at music in his spare time but took up the job as a radio jockey for a country station in Little Rock. He spent as much time as possible with Faith, and he enjoyed watching her grow up. After many years of working hard Roman finally gotten the ability to write songs that he deems acceptable for him to play. Now Roman hopes to gain success and fulfill his dream to become a someone in the music industry, the same dream that started when he realized his little girl liked to hear him sing and play guitar.
