Q: So how different would you say your second album is compared to your debut effort?

Hannah Beth: I honestly think this album beat my debut album by like a landslide. (Laughs) I worked hard on it and the work really paid off.

Q: Your in the music industry at a time when female solo artists dominate the charts,
how do you think you compare?

Hannah Beth: I think I am still kind of a newbie and I haven’t gotten to the level that people like Miss Vanity, Stephanie Fierce, Girlspice, and others have gotten at or I should say passed. I know that I’ll get there someday. It may not be tomorrow but I’ll get there. (Smiles)

Q: So which of your contemporary’s do you admire most?

Hannah Beth: Well everyone knows im like crazy about Stephanie Fierce (Laughs). She is one of my main influences. I meant my list is very long. I admire many different people not just because of their music but because of their styles or personalities and the affects they’ve had on me as an artist or as a person.

Q: Your dating Brandon Caulfield, he’s not exactly what you’d expect a popstar to date,
what made you two fall for each other?

Hannah Beth: He’s not like any guy I’ve dated before. He’s really sweet and a genuinely good person. He is also the first boyfriend my brother has ever liked so that must be a sign. (Smiles) He’s just one of those people that you’re lucky to have in your life and you don’t want to go away.

Q: And what does the next 9 months hold for Hannah Beth?

Hannah Beth: I’m gonna be promoting ‘Tough and Tender’ and I’ll be releasing 2 singles that I may save for the next album. They are cover songs from Selena, one of if not my biggest influence, and I’ll be performing at the ‘Gay Flag Festival’ in the summer so I’m gonna be occupied.

Q: So you’ve recently finished touring, what was that experience like?

Hannah Beth: It was no joke (Laughs) It was really fun and I loved being on that stage and seeing all my fans and them singing along with me. It makes me feel like I’ve accomplished a little so far. I can’t wait to do it again. I start touring again with Michelle Green and Radio Vine in April in Australia and New Zealand so I'm sure it'll be wonderful since i've never been to either place.

Q: You’ve had a lot of success with your latest album, does that surprise you?

Hannah Beth: Yes, it does. I know that’s terrible faith but It exceeded my expectations. It just means that the next album has to be bigger and better.
Q: So you left the music industry for a little while, did you miss being in the industry?

Hannah Beth: I did. I was always writing while I was gone. I wanted to come back sooner but I didn’t think I was ready. Had it not been for my brother, I probably would still be at home debating when I would come back.

Q: The death of your father must have been a very difficult time, how did you deal with it?

Hannah Beth: I just wrote and wrote and wrote. There was so many things going on after my father died I didn’t know what to do but write. I became really distant from everyone and I was like in shock. It’s still hard to this day to know that I can never talk to him or see him again. Some days I will be waiting by the phone, waiting for him to call to check on me and then I have to bring myself back to reality that he’s really gone.

Q: We hear your younger brother is interested in becoming a musician, what can we expect from him?

Hannah Beth: I can’t tell you. (Laughs) He’s such a mystery to even me sometimes. He loves music a lot and I wouldn’t be surprised if he became bigger than me. He writes a lot just like me. Sometimes we write together and it’s a weird process for us. We can sit for hours and play around but while we do that, we bounce ideas off of each other.

Q: Your album is very diverse, with emotional songs mixed with upbeat pop songs, what inspired the album?

Hannah Beth: Life. Simple as that. All the songs on the album is a story and they are experiences that I’ve dealt with.

Q: Were you surprised by the success of the album and the singles off of the album?

Hannah Beth: I think ‘Catch Your Eye’ was a fan favorite. (Laughs) I was surprised by how much success it gained. I was ecstatic to know so many people loved my music.

Q: When can we expect a new album?

Hannah Beth: Well, with the way I’m going, I would say maybe before the year is over. I’m always anxious to get in the studio and I’m writing almost every day now so I’ll never be short on songs. It just depends on how everything goes right now.

Q: Will there be any interesting collaborations coming soon?

Hannah Beth: Sure. My brother Hayden, Brandon Caulfield, and I supposed I should keep the rest a secret until it happens. (Smiles)
