Lily's first interview talks about her Album and her success so far.  Q: Hi Lily, so for people who aren’t aware of you, what kind of music do you play?
Lily: I usually don't limit myself to a specific type of genre but my music is mostly a mixture or Gothic Rock and i guess you could say metal or emo. Whatever you wanna call it.
Q: Your debut single, Digital Love is now released, what kind of success has it had so far?
Lily: Well it's sold over 3 million copies which makes me very happy, or course. I always had a special feeling about that song. (Smiles) I knew it would attract alot of fans.
Q: And what do you expect to achieve with your new single The Bitch In Me?
Lily: I kind of want it to be a reflection of me. I want my whole album to be a reflection of me actually. Most people don't even know who i am and this is my way of telling people who Lily is and what she can do. I also want it to be an eye opener for the subjects in the song. I'm not sure if they realized what they did to me and maybe this song will give them a slap in the face.
Q: When can we expect your debut album to be released?
Lily: I've been working on it and so far April is looking great for it's release. There's not an official date yet but It'll be done for sure by April.
Q: Have you got any collaborations planned for it?
Lily: Nope. I wanted to do my album completely by myself. I think an artist should be able to be on their own first then earn the respect or admiration of other artists so they'll want to work with them later on. It's sort or like a pride thing. I want to be able to say i earned my success on my debut solo album on my own and an artist didn't help me.
Q: And what kind of current music do you listen to?
Lily: I mostly listen to Rock and Metal. I'm not crazy about Pop or Rap but i'll listen to it every once in a while but i'm always listening to Rock.
Q: Who are your biggest inspirations in the music industry?
Lily: Well, i would have to say Metallica, Nine Inch Nails, Joan Jett, Cyndi Lauper, 4 Non Blondes, Johnny Cash, Pearl Jam, and my list could go on.
Q: If you could describe yourself in three words, what would it be?
Lily: Weird, Smart, Beautiful.
Q: How successful do you think you can become?
Lily: As successful as I push myself to become.
Q: What separates you from every other musician?
Lily: I think i'm more honest and not really one to sugar coat my feelings. I guess you could say im very opinionated and couldn't care less about what people think of me. Then again, there's other artists like that too. I don't know, i guess it's in my music. |
