News:11.17.10: Openers announced. In case you missed it CTS performed at the Chaos Awards debuting two new songs. "Gloomface" and "One Thousand & One Nights" which both will be on the new album Revenant of Solitudes. We had to push the release date up.
It will now be out on November 30th and Gloomface will be released on the 23rd of November. Album took a little more time to mix then I thought it would but it is all taken care of and it sounds great. We just got done listening to it last night and I love it! Jakey did the keys on this record which came out fantastic and just brong back memories we had with Luna. Enough of that though my brother Nick Futrell will be playing keys live for us on tour. Thats pretty cool. Can't wait for the tour and can't wait for all of you to hear this new album!

Negative RecordsBiography:Casting Thin Shadows came together after Regan met John Smith at a Smashing Pumpkins concert. They both had the same taste and ambition for music and decided to form a band. The first member to join was John Smiths younger brother Marcy Smith. After he joined he knew a keyboard player that was a female and her name was Luna Star. Marcy also started dating her when the band got signed to Eventual Records. Sinca Monte was the next one to join after he met Marcy through Luna. Then Dante joined after being offered the position because he was in another band that recently broke up in New York called White Sparrows which was a goth rock band like Casting Thin Shadows. The band recorded a demo album that was called "The Crucifiction" which challenged the Bible as to being nothing but "make believe" stories. The band had influences from Smashing Pumpkins, Ministry, My Bloody Valentine, and The Cure. After they toured on the east coast they released the second demo album trying to catch attention titled "Tales From The Wicked" whcih was an album about nothing but war and losing people you loved so much. With this album they caught the attention of the new label owner of Eventual Records Lino. He immediately signed the band for a three album deal that ended up being a life time deal and a negotiable contract. The band recorded it's first album for Eventual whcih was "Nightcrawler" the album was influecned by The Cures "Disitergration" very much and became a fan favorite and a classic for the bands discography. The band went on world tours and released album after album until after the double album "666/777" whcih was two albums one being about hell and one being about heaven. John Smith has been quoted to say that this album was the begginning of the end for the band. John said not only was Regan heavily involved with drugs but so was Marcy, Sinca(Got kicked out during recording of this album because it got outta hand with him), and himself. Dante and Luna were the only clean members of the band at the time. Sinca was kicked out for his drug problem that got way outta hand according to the band and was replaced by Regans cousin Alan Kidd on drums. The band recorded its next album "Fate, Faith, Fatality". The band recorded their best album when they thought the album was going to do so poorly. Regan thought that this album would be the end of the band because they have now gained millions of fans because of how big they have became. Arguements happened every day during the recording of the album and random mood swings from almost everyone in the band was also a huge downstep. The band seeked help from the man who found the band Lino. The band listened to everything he had to say and completed recording the new album "Fate, Faith, Fatality" after nearly breaking up. After the band went on tour however John Smith decided to leave the band to focous on his new solo career "In The Arms of Sleep". The band immediately replaced him with the guitarist from the recently broken up Fear who was Paul Reeves. The band went straight into the studio and Regan was being criticized at the time that he can only write good songs with John and if it wasn't for him and Marcy the band would most likely not be as big as it was. Regan became frustrated with these negative marks he kept getting but tend to ignore them while recording the album "Light The Candles" which was a bit more popish than their other albums. The band went on tour and then decided they wanted to break away from Eventual and try other labels out. This caused controversory between Regan and Lino. They both went from being best friends to hating each other. Regan ignored it and the band signed to the metal label "Negative Records" and released the raw album "Whispers". After Whispers was released Regan still kept getting negative comments that he can't write good songs without John, Marcy, or Paul playing the guitar with him after recently releasing two albums with his supergroup Regan formed called A Static Theory. This was the true downfall of such a great band. Paul left the band to go play in Fear again who recently regrouped. Marcy left to focus on raising a family with his wife and 2 kids. Luna decided to go underground and produce indie bands music and DJ in London. So the band was left to a trio. Regan, Alan, and Dante. Regan went into the studio orginally recording as a new band and their debut album but Regan was talked out of that from his good friend Raven from Thunderwolf so he kept it as a Casting Thin Shadows album. The album ended up being "Requiem" and Regan wrote all the songs with Dante and Alan. He wrote every guitar part, keyboard part, piano part, and all the lyrics. Critics praised him with sayings such as "Regan could keep Casting Thin Shadows as a trio and they would still be just as good as a 6-man band." After this Marcy rejoined the band and made the band into a four-piece band. They recorded the collaboration album they did with some artists called "One Funeral A Maketh" which ended up being their highest selling album. With Casting Thin Shadows back on top Regan asked John if he wanted his spot back and he declined but Luna rejoined on tour during the One City A Maketh world tour they did. After this the band decided they were gonna try an electronic guitar based album which ended up being one of their lowest album sales to date. The name of the album was "Translations" and it was released on the label Regan had formed by himself called "Insomnia Records". After this album the band went on hiatus. Regan and Alan were forming a new side project which ended up being a band which was Quarantine. John became a full time music producer and has promised new In The Arms of Sleep material but still hasn't released any. Marcy went on helping Alex Sin with his solo career. Luna went back DJing. Dante went to take a break from music. After this hiatus was up the band regrouped and recorded what was to be their final album "The Golden Bough". The band had help from two friends on the album. Raven Comatose and Jakey Comatose. The album was a return to fame for Casting Thin Shadows they went on a world tour until some tradegy happened. Luna Star was found dead on their tour bus and the band immediately cancled the rest of the tour after trying to go through with a couple of the shows. Regan said it was the darkest hour of his life and after this the band decided to just end the band. But now the band has regrouped and have recorded a 14th studio album without a keyboardist which leaves the band as a 5-piece band for the third time instead of a 6-piece band which has been their signature image for years now. Keyboarding duties were performed by close friend Jakey Comatose on the new album and will be handled by Nick Futrell live.
