As she's lifted from under the stage, a single spotlight shines down on Nadia Berry who's wearing a black leotard and heels. A huge white screen stands tall behind her as she opens with her new single "Shadow", the position of the lighting causing a tall shadow to cover the screen. She dances with it, sliding up and down against the screen and making fast movements; it's a simplistic performance, but one that's most definitely visually appealing. Instead of the single spotlight, all of the lights shine brightly for the final chorus as she drops onto the floor and on her back, as part of the stage moves around in a slow, circular motion. Sparks begin to fly up into the air around the moving stage part as she belts out the chorus, still on the ground. "Shadow" Lyrics (N. Berry)
In the most unpredictable place Catching the eyes of an unfamiliar face It's this feeling that just can't be bought And who would've thought? Whenever you're least expecting to find love It's that feeling you manage to get a hold of And you know that once you step near It's the moment that I stop seeing clear
As the butterflies begin to spread their wings That's when love makes us do stupid, stupid things Getting lost in the moment, don't ever find me It's just me and you and the possibility of we
Just when I think I'm lonely forever I see your shadow growing nearer That's when I know we're getting closer On the verge of our bond becoming stronger So let's fall fast, we're going in deeper And when I see your shadow growing nearer That's when I know we're getting closer
In the most unusual place Love always transcends time and space A stranger in reality, yet like a life-long lover Feels like you've been waiting for my feelings to uncover But they're all on display No reason to be led astray We're just like a firework that's waiting to burst And I'm jumping in headfirst
I don't need your touch to feel completed Your shadow on mine was all I ever needed No sweet talk, nothing captured in a single word One glance is all it took for the way I feel to go unheard And I just can't let go... Gotta let my feelings show...
Just when I think I'm lonely forever I see your shadow growing nearer That's when I know we're getting closer On the verge of our bond becoming stronger So let's fall fast, we're going in deeper And when I see your shadow growing nearer That's when I know we're getting closer The screen lifts up afterwards to reveal her band, as she smiles to the crowd, before "Fake It" begins, a song from her upcoming album Open Heart Surgery. The more aggressive pop-rock number sees Nadia rock out with her guitar player as she leans against him, roughs up his hair and covers his mouth to go along with the song lyrics. "I'm growing tired of all the lies There's only so many of them I can listen to Cupid's arrow shot you between the eyes So tell me something new that's happening with you You're just oh so damn predictable Grew tired of the front you constantly put on You say that girl was oh so damn beautiful So don't even question me about what you did wrong
Too many times you've used the same excuse And too many times I've given you my heart to bruise Too many times I let it slip, now I'm cutting you loose No more tears, no more fake apologies So go and take it, take it Don't bother, baby Don't even fake it, fake it I've had enough"She sits on the edge of the stage for the second verse, reaching out to the eager fans who hold their hands out to her, then walking back over to her band. She kicks the drum cymbal with her heel, before moving over to her drum player, sliding one hand through his hair, as he then stops to let her play. She lays her microphone down and surprisingly pulls out some fast-paced and impressive free-style drumming, the crowd cheer her and the song then launches back into the chorus. "Just another day in the life of you Did you think that I was only born yesterday? You shower me with excuses so you can remain untrue Just another cover-up so that you can have your way You're just oh so damn annoying Knowing that we were so close and yet so far Your games are just oh so damn boring Tired of trying to change everything that you are
Too many times you've used the same excuse And too many times I've given you my heart to bruise Too many times I let it slip, now I'm cutting you loose No more tears, no more fake apologies So go and take it, take it Don't bother, baby Don't even fake it, fake it I've had enough"She drops to her knees for the minimal drum beat middle-eight and flips her hair, clapping one hand against the end of the microphone to get the crowd joining in. She then stands up for the final chrous and makes her way over to her microphone stand as she gives a powerful vocal, leaning the stand down slightly to kneel and sing into the microphone, before standing it up and throwing her fist in the air as she looks up for the end of the song. "I'm waving goodbye and I'm wearing a smile Happy to walk away from all your drama Had hopes that we could have lasted a while And you know what they say about karma So I hope you're ready for it to come And no, I don't intend on remaining friends So once everything's said and done Was it all worth it in the end?
Too many times you've used the same excuse And too many times I've given you my heart to bruise Too many times I let it slip, now I'm cutting you loose No more tears, no more fake apologies So go and take it, take it Don't bother, baby Don't even fake it, fake it I've had enough" She lowers her head and laughs softly, "Thank you! Damn, you guys are pretty loud..." Nadia says, "Apologies to my guitar player and drummer for messing up their hair, I'm sure they don't mind" she adds, looking behind at them and laughing once more. "This song is one of the more personal ones on my upcoming album and I revealed the lyrics a while ago, it's called 'Darkest Hour' and I hope you like it." The lights dim as a single spotlight once again shines down on her for the more stripped back performance, nothing supporting her other than a piano backing. Her sweet, higher tone of voice for the opening of the song is enough to give the audience chills. "How do you cope when the clouds block out the sun? Standing alone in the dark, lurking in the shadows How do you cope when the bullet shoots from the gun? Becoming the prey to the darkness, I'm falling below I'm running towards the light that runs from me Reaching out for a hand that constantly pulls away Chasing after something that refuses to set me free Losing sight of hope when everything fades to grey..."As the song builds, slow, but powerful tribal drums kick in for the chorus as she slides her hands down the microphone stand, her eyes closed, passionately singing the lyrics. "Thought I could put my trust in you, faith in you Stupid enough to think you were the one I could cling to I gave you everything I had, got nothing in return Left with a shadow for a friend, one hard lesson to learn So many memories we had together that I wanna erase Whatever did I do to make you throw my love back in my face? Sometimes a brave face ain't enough to face all the pain Whatever did I do to make you not feel the same? Something so, so sweet, turned so damn sour Whatever did I do to you to deserve my darkest hour?"The drums stay present for the second verse as soft, blue lighting fills the stage. She grabs the microphone and walks over to the side of the stage, kneeling down infront of the crowd, before standing up again for the chorus as she holds one arm out, her vocals stronger than the first chorus of the song. "I'm stuck in the deep end, are you gonna save me from drowning? Hanging on by a thread, I'm struggling and wearing thin All these tears I'm crying, all this wine I'm downing So just for a moment, I'll be able to escape from my own skin Any way's fine if I can manage to forget about reality for a moment My mind's a cage, I'm hopelessly trapped in my own hell I desperately need an escape away from all the mental torment So don't shake me out of this intoxicated spell
Thought I could put my trust in you, faith in you Stupid enough to think you were the one I could cling to I gave you everything I had, got nothing in return Left with a shadow for a friend, one hard lesson to learn So many memories we had together that I wanna erase Whatever did I do to make you throw my love back in my face? Sometimes a brave face ain't enough to face all the pain Whatever did I do to make you not feel the same? Something so, so sweet, turned so damn sour Whatever did I do to you to deserve my darkest hour?"Nadia makes her way back over to the microphone stand for the climax in the song, a shower of sparks falling behind her for the final chorus. The song then comes to an end as the crowd give her a warm response, she thanks them and then introduces her hit single "Good Girls Don't Lie", which certainly goes down well with them, judging from the cheers she gets back. Bright, warm colours of lighting shine onto the stage to suit the more laid-back and summery feel of the song, Nadia then walks down the stairs of the stage as two bodyguards stand either side of her. She walks through the crowd and to the section where all of the celebrities are sat, singing the song whilst walking past all of the seats, passing many popular faces as she gives a smile to some in attendance, including the guys of Misery Loves Company and Radio Vine, as well as Katie Coyle, who she gives a kiss on the cheek to. She passes many more, and soon comes to her boyfriend, as she puts her hand on his face, before making her way back to the stage, where the song is over by the time she gets there. "I LOVE YOU GUYS!" she shouts out, "You've been amazing, have a great evening and good luck to everyone!" "Good Girls Don't Lie" Lyrics (N. Berry)
Paint my skies with shades of red and black And rip my angelic wings off one feather at a time Cause I won't live a life under false pretenses I'm more suited to playing the devil's advocate Always the one to start a riot and make a scene Tainting my image which you thought was squeaky clean
Lock your eyes on me, a sly cat up to no good Doing things that only a bad girl would But never what a good girl should
So if it's true that good girls don't lie Then I'm the one proudly wearing the tainted halo Feeding you lies and covering your eyes A black widow who's been spinning a web around you Just waiting for the moment to inject the venom So if it's true that good girls don't lie Then I'm the one proudly wearing the tainted halo
Everyone's the fool when you're wearing a disguise But I'm taking it off and throwing it away Won't be the innocent girl to bat her lashes The truth is infront of you hiding behind big sunglasses But when it's hidden away behind a money-making scheme It's all the price you pay to live the American Dream
An angelic smile with my heart on my sleeve Thinking of ways to get you to believe When it's all just a new way to deceive When money makes the world go round There's always another dollar to be found
So if it's true that good girls don't lie Then I'm the one proudly wearing the tainted halo Feeding you lies and covering your eyes A black widow who's been spinning a web around you Just waiting for the moment to inject the venom So if it's true that good girls don't lie Then I'm the one proudly wearing the tainted halo SET LIST1.
