It's sort of about this guy who was in a relationship with a couple of years back. His parents were total asses, and for some reason they took this dislike to me. It got to the extent that any time we had a fight, no matter who was to blame, his mother would call me up, and blame me, for like, him not sleeping, and feeling poorly and whatever is. The truth was, I always tried to be sweet to her, but you know, I'm not having a dig, I just think it makes for an interesting song.
I'm not really such a bad girlfriend as I say in the song....so don't run a mile guys. It's just a little bit of dark humour for ya :P

I wrote this song with Lauren quite a while back actually. We were just messing around and stuff, and this is what we came out with. I like the lyrics from her, and I think it's refreshing to see someone almost have a dig at themselves you know?
Musically...yeah, it's supposed to sound vibrant, fun, loud and energetic. It's just pop-punk you know....good honest fun music. I always take a band as a template when I'm trying to map out how the song should sound, and for this one, I decided to use a bit of a mix between Blink 182 and Good Charlotte. So it has like the cheery, upbeat energy of Blink, but also the sort of pace that you could attribute to GC.
Yeah..so....not a man of many words...en....joy.

This song is the second to be released by CrushCrushCrush!from their debut demo disc. The song is a punchy pop-punk effort dealing with relationships and perceptions. It begins with a quick, choppy guitar and drum section, which then goes silent, before the large, sweeping verse comes in.
Each of the verses is sung in a rather aggressive voice, which still somehow manages to sound cheery, over the top of slow yet chirpy guitar chords.
The choruses sound a lot chunkier and quicker, and are reminiscent of earlier Blink 182...but with a girl on the mic.
The song ends with a group chanting over slightly heavy, tired sounding breathing, before Lauren finishes the song by just speaking the final line, then blowing a kiss and laughing.
