Scott looks at Layla in disbelief. "I'm dumb Layla, I'm dumb? Of course. I mean I should have expected you to stand up for her of course. My question is how did he get that close? He didn't run from across the room and kiss her. They must have been close enough in the first place for him to just lean in and...kiss my fucking wife." Even thinking about someone else's lips against Gia's was making him feel sick with the pain of it all."
He coughs and waits for her to finish. "She isn't my ex wife yet no, but soon enough she will, so why not just start calling her that now? Jesus I didn't call her a babysitter did I? I know she's their mother! My wife? Technically maybe." He rubs his hand down his face. "She loved me. She even said it herself. She doesnt love me now. I know that much Layla." He shrugs. "You just told me she keeps going to harm herself. Why should I leave my daughter in the care of someone willing to do that...or in the same house as a violent guy threatening to knock people out, huh? Maybe I should look after her. I am her dad after all."
"I know! I know, I know I know. I was wrong, and I can appreciate why that would hurt her. I really do." He thinks for a minute and slumps on the side of his car. "I couldn't even live..." |

"You're making a mistake. She married you even when she knew how you were. She knew your past, she knew there could be a possibility you could go back to your old ways but she stayed because of love and that hasn't changed. You can ask her yourself, she'll say the same thing, she loves you." She looks at him. "You know she would never hurt Sophie at all she just wants the pain to end but not at the expense of her children and Mark isn't going to hit you, he's just pissed at you as well."
She sighs. "Then you can understand why she left so stop blaming her for it." |

Scott sees Layla extend her arms to him. He thinks for a minute before moving in. As soon as he hugs her he starts sobbing into her shoulder. "I'm sorry. I can't help it." |

Scott gets in the car and looks down at Sophie, who smiles at him, oblivious to anything that's going on. "Daddy's sorry Soph. He's been a very stupid man and he hurt mummy. But he's gonna try his best make everything work out." He wiped his tears and started drive home.
