“Havana Moon” is an American rock group consisting of 'Brandon Caulfield', 'Avery Wyatt', 'Flynn McCarthy', 'Dylan O'Connor', 'Caleb Rhythm JR', 'Sarah Jade Harrison' and 'Jared Wyatt'. Formed following the recording of a Bob Dylan cover album while supporting Brandon Caulfield this bunch of longtime musician friends decided to continue playing together beyond the albums initial release. Following the release of the covers album, the group of musicians vacationed for three days at 'JR Rhythm's' holiday home in Cuba in celebration of the albums release, which is where they ended up discussing the idea of forming a legitimate band. The majority of the group have worked on and off with Brandon Caulfield over the years as a sort of unofficial backing band for the singer-songwriter but it was all under the guidance of Caulfield's songwriting and singing. It was during the recording sessions where they were playing a lot more loosely than they have ever done together before that they decided to formed an official rock group together, where the roles would be shared out more evenly between the musicians rather than Caulfield being supported by the group with his own music.

It was confirmed in an interview in December 2018 by Brandon that he was working on something a little different from before, more of a collaborative experience where on some songs he may be leading the group as a singer and guitarist as he had done previously or where he may just be playing rhythm guitar in the background while one of the other band members will be leading the group. He also talked about how the songwriting process will be much more collaborative than before, even stating that there would possibly be songs on the album that he won't have written. He made a point to distance the music of 'Havana Moon' from his own and stated that the music from the group will be more of a traditional rock and roll sound than his own work and that the primary influences will come from the likes of classic 60's and early 70's rock groups like 'The Rolling Stones', 'Creedence Clearwater Revival', 'The Eagles', 'The Animals' and 'The Allman Brothers Band' among many others.

In a post on his official website, musician 'Avery Wyatt' teased his fans that there was something big coming in 2019 and that the group was looking to make a real go of this, aiming for the same sort of longevity as the classic groups that inspired the formation of 'Havana Moon'. He also confirmed that there were many songs written during some incredibly constructive recording and jam sessions previously in the summer of 2018 and that the group were looking to get their music out there in very early 2019. Also confirming that they were aiming for their debut album to be released in early 2019 so that they could tour in support of it during the summer and fall of 2019. He also confirmed that the group would be signed to Caulfield's own 'Southbound Records' giving them the creative freedom to produce the very best of what they have to offer as a collective.

“Havana Moon began as just a group of musician friends vacationing together in Cuba, hanging out and jamming without the restrictions and stress of industry deadlines and expectations, but it quickly became possible that this group of artists could come together and work within their own rules. Signing to an independent record label in ‘Southbound Records’, recording and releasing our debut single “Shadows of a Tail Light” in 2019 were the very first steps of this journey as a band in an official capacity. In the ensuing years, we have met up and made music together whenever possible, however a two year period when the world was metaphorically on fire stunted any potential of this group finding some sort of traction or forward momentum, but enough time has passed now and the cobwebs have been well and truly dusted off from our instruments, vocal warm ups performed and feelings have been bled out onto notepads and napkins to allow us to look ahead to a brighter future, where sounds crafted from crumbs of ideas will flow through the airways and the ground beneath our unholy wheels will rumble and shake as we officially build towards finally taking our show on the road.

But first, we need to address both a change in line-up and a change in location. Initially based in Nashville, Tennessee it no longer became viable for the base of the band to be centred in the South as the majority of the group headed to the west coast in a post-pandemic world, of course this decision meant that our founder and leader ‘Brandon Caulfield’ had to make the difficult decision to officially leave the group, a decision that we all understood given personal circumstances. The relocation of the group, combined with personal circumstance changes led to an unlikely chain of events where the group were able to welcome ‘Savannah Haim’ into the group in an official capacity. Of course Savannah has been inadvertently associated with the group since it’s formation, having been around during it’s formation in Cuba back in 2019. The addition of Ms. Haim to the line-up will see our new vocalist front the band for the most part, showcasing her incredible vocal talents alongside fellow original members ‘Dylan O’Connor’, ‘Avery Wyatt’, ‘Flynn McCarthy’, ‘Sarah Jade Harrison’, ‘Caleb Rhythm JR’ and ‘Jared Wyatt’.
With the line-up locked in and the re-location to Los Angeles, California complete, the group are officially in the process of recording their debut album which will be released under ‘Southbound Records’.

With a turn of a page, a new chapter awaits.
