Title: “Of Mice And Men”
Artist: Brandon Caulfield
Release Date: September 5, 2020
Recorded: Blackbird Studios, Nashville, TN
Genre(s): Americana, Country, Rock, Blues
Length: 72:44
Label: Southbound Records
Producer(s): Brandon Caulfield, Johnny Deacon Mariner

“Of Mice and Men” is the seventh studio album by American singer-songwriter 'Brandon Caulfield', set for release on September 5, 2020 through 'Southbound Records'. The record was produced by Brandon Caulfield alongside first-time collaborator 'Johnny Deacon Mariner'. The album was recorded from January 2020 through to June 2020 at Caulfield's own privately owned Blackbird Studios in Nashville, Tennessee although some of the tracks were written back in late 2019 at his home in Nashville before ever entering the studio, a slight change in philosophy from Caulfield who has always preferred to head into the studio with a blank slate and create from there on out in order to give things a less structured and slightly more archaic free forming nature.

In the build-up to the album, three singles have been released from the album with the first being “Straight On Out” released on April 25, 2020 which peaked at #02 on the singles chart. This was then followed up with the release of a double a-side single in the form of “When The Fire Goes Out” and “Sunday Night Blues” which was released on July 18, 2020 and peaked at number #06 on the singles chart. With the release of this record, it marks the first release of original material from Caulfield since 2015's “Wildflowers”, his last record overall was 2018's collection of Bob Dylan songs “Beyond Here Lies Nothin'”.

The album production and mixing was completed in early August 2020 by Brandon Caulfield and Johnny Deacon Mariner and features eighteen tracks with Caulfield stating that this record is the most expansive he's created so far in his career with primary mixes of Country, Rock and Blues where in the past there has been one overlining genre tying the album together, he took influence from a bigger mix of elements this time around. The album will be released through Southbound Records on September 5, 2020.

OOC: Just a lyric only release for this one. Tried to attempt to write descriptions but it felt like an exhausting task and I just wanna get this album out of the way to focus on other stuff, so it is what it is. Hopefully you can paint your own picture with the songs! :)

Track 1.
“Of Mice and Men”

“We weren't ever allowed to dream 'round here
Back then It was always nine to fives and calloused hands
Nobody ever managed to get themselves outta here
You know what they say of mice and men and their best laid plans

I've got a flair for the dramatic and a love for the sound
That's gonna be the driving' force to drag me out
I've got a sentimental heart and it beats loud and wild
But I don't really mind
I don't really mind

Why do I keep coming back around here?
Is the question on my mind throughout these years
I'm tired of the judgement
Tired of their vibes
Tired of their small town mentality
That they just can't hide

Have you ever seen the lights outside of town?
Have you ever seen the lights shining down?

I took a wander through the streets I grew on
Nothing much has changed but the fields that we played upon
I saw the windows of my childhood home were boarded up
But I went inside and took a look
I guess something still runs in my veins
My nostalgic masquerade

I still remember a boy that got caught in the river out west
I never knew anybody that had died before
I still think this old town is depressed
But I just can't stick around here anymore

Why, do I keep coming back around here?
Is the question on my mind throughout these years
I'm tired of the judgement
Tired of their vibes
Tired of their small town mentality
That they just can't hide

We weren't ever allowed to dream 'round here
Back then It was always nine to fives and calloused hands
Nobody ever managed to get themselves outta here
You know what they say of mice and men and their best laid plans”

Track 2.
“Slow Dancing With The Girl From The South”

“It's not all that foolish to me, if it means a lot to you
To take your hand and dance
Like we're the only ones in this room
I'm not afraid to show my cards, or wear my heart upon my sleeve
I could quite get used to this
If this is how it's always gonna be

You have me by the heart
You've had me from the very start
You have me by the heart
You've had me from the very start

I've heard all their careless talking
That this will never last
They'll soon move past the honeymoon phase
And their sunshine will pass
But I ain't been one much for the sun
I'll take the rain every day
I will fight the wildest of storms
All you have to do is stay

You have me by the heart
You've had me from the very start
You have me by the heart
You've had me from the very start

With a glass of red wine in your hand
Something in the air
The music swaying loud and free
Hearts a-falling everywhere
Darlin', your love I can't go without
How I long to forever be slow dancing with the girl from the south

You have me by the heart
You've had me from the very start
You have me by the heart
You've had me from the very start”

Track 3.
“Searching”

“Walking through the old streets
That I've walked on so many times before
Indiana doesn't feel the same to me
Doesn't feel like it did back when I was so small
The arms that it used to hold around me
Used to keep me safe and warm
Seem to be holding me at a distance these days
Like it doesn't love me anymore

And I'm searching, searching, searching for a face I can barely remember
Maybe the years just haven't been kind
Perhaps I spent a little too much time in California
And left the real me behind

I never thought things would get this desperate
But then she called me up one night
Her voice had changed so much through the years
But then again, so had mine

We wandered down the same streets
That we used to run around, so wild and free
The park where we shared our first kiss
Doesn't look the same to me
She said we could sit and talk for hours
In the rain like we used to do
But don't you have some important people waiting
Or can they wait a little longer for you
I just looked and shrugged
Tonight, my friend your first in the queue

And I'm searching, searching, searching for a face I can barely remember
Maybe the years just haven't been kind
Perhaps I spent a little too much time in California
And left the real me behind

I never thought things would get this desperate
But then she called me up one night
Her voice had changed so much through the years
But then again, so had mine

Always searching in my life
For a better place to be
It occurred to me as those hours passed
That I've lost a part of me

And I'm searching, searching, searching for a face I can barely remember
Maybe the years just haven't been kind
Perhaps I spent a little too much time in California
And left the real me behind”

Track 4.
“Young Lovers, Younger Hearts”

“I wonder what they'll say when I go
When they lower me to the ground nice and slow
I hope to have had some sort of impact
I hope that I've been able to leave a mark of some note
Maybe in the love that I've given
Maybe in the songs that I've sung and wrote

I ponder what's waitin' for me in the next life
What's waitin' for me in the next life

Will I hear the words that are spoken of me by my loved ones?
Will I be in stories told to those that never knew me?
Will I hear the notes and melodies of my favourite old songs?
Will they forget and just pass through me?

I often sit back and wonder if you were scared
You were alone and so unprepared
It's no way to leave this world when the one you love is so far away
Couldn't you have just given us
One more fucking day
I remember when they called me
I dropped to my knees on the cold hard ground
I remember everything from that day
I still hear the traffic, the birds, the sea and the sound
I still hear the traffic, the birds, the sea and the sound

Will I hear the words that are spoken of me by my loved ones?
Will I be in stories told to those that never knew me?
Will I hear the notes and melodies of my favourite old songs?
Will they forget and just past through me?

Young lovers, younger hearts
Young lovers, younger hearts
Young lovers, younger hearts
Young lovers, younger hearts

Ain't supposed to die at the start of their life
Ain't supposed to die at the start of their life
We ain't supposed to die at the start of our life
We ain't supposed to die at the start of our life

Track 5.
“California Sunshine”

“I've grown tired of these blue sky's
Just praying that someday they'll turn to grey
Tired of the sunshine
Just hoping for a little rain
I've grown tired of these blue sky's
Tired of the drought
Everybody needs a little rain sometimes
To help them remember the things that they may have forgotten about

I don't feel much like smiling
I don't feel much like anything at all
I don't see a brighter future
I don't see anything ahead of me at all

I think maybe I need a change of weather
Because this California sunshine
Isn't making things better
Yeah, this California sunshine
Isn't making things better
This damn California sunshine
Isn't making things better

I don't feel much like smiling
I don't feel much like anything at all
I don't see a brighter future
I don't see anything ahead of me at all

I've grown tired of these blue sky's
Just praying that someday they'll turn to grey
Tired of the sunshine
Just hoping for a little rain
I've grown tired of these blue sky's
Tired of the drought
Everybody needs a little rain sometimes
To help them remember the things that they may have forgotten about

I don't feel much like smiling
I don't feel much like anything at all
I don't see a brighter future
I don't see anything ahead of me at all

I think maybe I need a change of weather
Because this California sunshine
Isn't making things better
Yeah, this California sunshine
Isn't making things better
This damn California sunshine
Isn't making things better”

Track 6.
“Gettin' Out Alive”

“A place like this has led me astray
That City still talks even though I'm two thousand miles away
It brought me love in those early days
I was caught in the traps of that California haze

They'd tell me that those streets were paved with gold
I'd have just settled for a sidewalk paved with good intentions
It's brought me a lot of good memories
Far too many for me to mention

I remember warm summer evening's walkin' you home
Days spent down by the riverside teaching the fine art of skippin' stones
Our first home bought together
Bringin' home the twins
I remember all the good times
That this beautiful fuckin' City brings

We were sweethearts from the very beginning
There wasn't a single day that I didn't feel like I was winning
I just wish those days could remain
Instead I associate the City with the worst kind of pain

Gettin' out alive
Gettin' out alive without you
Is the hardest thing I've ever had to do
Gettin' out alive
Gettin' out alive without you
Is the hardest thing I've ever had to do

Cherished dreams that we planned to make true
Were just a little out of our reach
The most painful memories are of the greatest time
An imagined life runs through my mind
All the promises we made
Are now in vain
All I'm left with are the broken pieces
All of our great expectations failed
I'm trying to make good
On the promises we made
The love is there
But the face has changed

Gettin' out alive
Gettin' out alive without you
Is the hardest thing I've ever had to do
Gettin' out alive
Gettin' out alive without you
Is the hardest thing I've ever had to do”

Track 7.
“The Last Time”

“The last time I was here, it was raining
But they tell me it don't rain much around here anymore
The roads were closed
Because of too much flooding
And all the debris was washed ashore
I went searching through all of the rubble
Trying to find something that didn't exist anymore
The last time I was here, it was raining
It ain't raining anymore

The last time I was here, you were waiting
You're not waiting here anymore
The glass was smashed and the door latch was broken
All the books scattered across the floor
You couldn't hear the birds as they sang in the morning
The way they always did before
You couldn't hear them above the sirens
The last time I was here, you were waiting
You're not waiting here anymore

So may your spirit flow through the wind
May the moonlight know your grace
May the needle move your favourite record round
Forever dancing with a smile on your face

The last time I was here, it was raining
But they tell me it never did rain much here anyway
The roads have never closed
Due to too much flooding
There's no debris to be washed ashore
But I know that the last time I was here, you were crying
You're not crying anymore

So may your spirit flow through the wind
May the moonlight know your grace
May the needle move your favourite record round
Forever dancing with a smile on your face”

Track 8.
“Don't Look Back At Me”

“My vagabond heart yells, walk away.
I'm sorry for the way I've been but this is how I was made
I believe I'll be like this 'till my dying days
My vagabond heart yells, walk away
I've tried so hard but I just can't change

From the railways to the roadsides I venture alone
My calloused heart is hard as stone
Don't get me wrong, I can see the beauty
It still brings me to my knee
Lonely without company
Can't breathe when they're here with me
Don't shed a tear for this disease

Don't look back at me
Don't look back at me
I only cause pain and misery
Don't look back at me

A roadside bar is a man's best friend
Drinkin' whiskey straight so the night can't end
Motel rooms don't include champagne on ice
And those bed sheets cut like a knife
It don't bother me none
Cause we won't be sleepin' tonight

Don't look back at me
Don't look back at me
I only cause pain and misery
Don't look back at me

Play guitar as per the request
Dimming the lights as she takes off her dress
Boots kicked under the motel bed
Fucked up thoughts running through your head
I believe I'll be like this 'till my dying days
My vagabond heart yells, walk away
I've tried so hard but I just can't change

Don't look back at me
Don't look back at me
I only cause pain and misery
Don't look back at me”

Track 9.
“When The Fire Goes Out”

“Same sadness in the same old room
Old conversations and the same old blues
No ideas what else we can do
When the fire goes out

Those sparks used to flicker but they soon fade out
Embers have turned to ashes now
It's so sad when there's nothing left to cry about
When the fire goes out
Oh, when the fire goes out

We'd always ask
What would you do when your dreams come true?
But we'd never ask
What would you do when they don't?
What would we do when this love burns out
Or this home becomes an old haunt?

Well I think time is too precious to keep holding on
It appears to me that all hope is gone
But we keep on singing for the sake of the song
When the fire goes out
Oh, when the fire goes out

You say that you're afraid of starting over again
Just like the fire's afraid of the rain
But we have nothing to lose and everything to gain
We'll remember what it's like to be in love
Instead of this pain

Same sadness in the same old room
Old conversations and the same old blues
No ideas of what else we can do
When the fire goes out
When the fire goes out
Oh, when the fire goes out
When the fire goes out”

Track 10.
“Golden Years”

“There's a cold breeze coming from the window
Your bag's in the hallway
Your shoes are on the front lawn
I guess I've just been a fool caught by the wind again
There's a spiderweb hanging by the curtain
You can just sit and wonder who the hell it's hurting until the fly is caught in there
I've been the fly stuck in that web

They say it's a long way back to feeling normal
An empty space where you used to lay
How the hell do I trust another
When the evidence suggests they like to throw it all away

These were supposed to be our golden years
Why did we waste em' fighting back all of these tears
We've spent them building armour
Just to place around our hearts
Afraid to see em' breaking
And tearing apart

We used to say that we both brought the weather
Talking bout' how the rain surely can't stay around here forever
But it's been a lifetime of raining in my soul
And a lifetime of rain in yours too

They say it's a long way back to feeling normal
An empty space where you used to lay
How the hell do I trust another
When the evidence suggests they like to throw it all away

These were supposed to be our golden years
Why did we waste em' fighting back all of these tears
We've spent them building armour
Just to place around our hearts
Afraid to see em' breaking
And tearing apart

Yeah, yeah, yeah

They say it's a long way back to feeling normal
An empty space where you used to lay”

Track 11.
“Straight On Out”

“You can walk out whenever it feels right,
When there's no use in us crying
If there's something better for you out there tonight
There's no more reason for us to be trying

Turn around and walk straight on out,
But darlin' just remember not to look back at me.
Your future's ahead of you babe
If this is not part of our destiny then this just wasn't meant to be
But darlin' just remember not to look back at me

I've had to learn how to love once again
And somehow you have me wrapped around your little finger
They say that love is such a dangerous game to play
But I've noticed that you don't tend to linger

Turn around and walk straight on out,
But darlin' just remember not to look back at me.
Your future's ahead of you babe
If this is not part of our destiny then this just wasn't meant to be
But darlin' just remember not to look back at me

It's warmer here than it's ever been
This house has become a home
When we remember the state it was in
But I can remove your name from the door
If you don't want this no more

Turn around and walk straight on out,
But darlin' just remember not to look back at me.
Your future's ahead of you babe
If this is not part of our destiny then this just wasn't meant to be
But darlin' just remember not to look back at me

Turn around and walk straight on out,
But darlin' just remember not to look back at me.
Your future's ahead of you babe
If this is not part of our destiny then this just wasn't meant to be
But darlin' just remember not to look back at me”

Track 12.
“The Best That I Can Give”

“Well the pills they gave me in California left me feeling blue
Everywhere I looked in every little corner, they seemed to be talking about me and you
I've never much been one for the press
They seem obsessed at capturing me at my most depressed
I knew I needed to find some place new
Moving on, helped me through
But getting over you, is something I never can do

I've changed a lot since that day
Learnt to adapt, when I needed to change
Learn to accept, when I need a break

It gets the worst at night
When we shut off the light and let the silence in
I know I'm not the only one that's hurting, I know I'm not the only one a-suffering
It's not a perfect love story, let's face it, nothing ever truly is
But she's brought me the light in the darkest of times
A light I never thought I'd be able to let back in
I just wish I could figure out a way to stop both of our suffering

The comments have been far from kind
And I know she wouldn't condone this level of hate
She'd have wanted me to find love
Not just to lay alone in bed forever and wait

And if I could write a letter and send it up there to you
Just to get some answers through you
Maybe it would make things easier in this fight
Yet, it gets the worst at night
It gets the worst at night

I've tried to move on as best as I can
I've got a life to live

I've changed a lot since that day
Learnt to adapt, when I needed to change
Learn to accept, when I need a break

It's far from the picture that we had planned back in those days
But it's just the best that I can give
Just the best that I can give”

Track 13.
“Sunday Night Blues”

“I've grown so tired
Of those Sunday night blues
Emotions so fragile
It's taken it's toll on me
A night so dangerous
I know it's taken it's toll on you too

Sleepless nights under restless stars
With the moon laughing at me
Memories of us dancing around in my mind
And the clock reads “just go to sleep”

I've written the message a hundred times
I sleep better with you by my side
But my head's telling my heart not to hit send tonight

And my heart's telling my head maybe this time we'll get it right
But I just worry this is not how you feel
I wonder if you stopped loving me

We were so young and full of life
Where does the time go?
If only I could take take our ending and rewrite it
I hope you know that I would
Go back on the one thing I truly loved
The thing that I fucked up

Sleepless nights under restless stars
With the moon laughing at me
Memories of us dancing around in my mind
And the clock reads “just go to sleep”

I've written the message a hundred times
I sleep better with you by my side
But my head's telling my heart not to hit send tonight

And my heart's telling my head maybe this time we'll get it right
But I just worry this is not how you feel
I wonder if you stopped loving me”

Track 14.
“Love Is War”

“Sweat drips as the anxiety strikes
Staring at the ceiling it keeps me awake at night
Thoughts of you just keep me restlessly
Tossing and turning as I let the thoughts run away with me

Clouds of smoke rings fill the air
I swear in that haze that I could see you standing there
And it feels like I'm back on the front-line again
Ready to fight a war that I'll never win
I'm standing in the war-zone
Ready for the battle to begin
I'm fighting a war that I'll never win

When it's between me and you I'll always lose
When it's just me and you, I'll always lose
When it's between me and you, I'll always lose
When it's just me and you, I'll always lose

When it comes to love
You know how to play that game well
I'm a sucker for your charms
If this love is war
I know this war is hell

Clouds of smoke rings fill the air
I swear in that haze that I could see you standing there
And it feels like I'm back on the front-line again
Ready to fight a war that I'll never win
I'm standing in the war-zone
Ready for the battle to begin
I'm fighting a war that I'll never win

When it comes to love
You know how to play that game well
I'm a sucker for your charms
If this love is war
I know this war is hell

When it's between me and you I'll always lose
When it's just me and you, I'll always lose
When it's between me and you, I'll always lose

Track 15.
“I Ain't Telling You No More”

“Well, I ain't telling you no more
I ain't telling you no more
I'm not about giving up on us
I'm not about walking out of the door
I ain't telling you no more

I promised that I'd change my ways for you, and I did it
I laid it out there plain for all to see
And we both know you have hold of my heart so don't break it, babe
You'll never know how much this means to me

I ain't telling you no more
I ain't telling you no more
Darlin' I ain't telling you no more

I'm too far gone for this to fall apart in my arms
I've given up those bad habits that tried to drag me under
I've got my head above water for the first time in the longest time, babe
And yet I still tend to wonder

Is what I am, just what you need?
If this is enough for you
It's enough for me
To just be happy, content and free

I ain't telling you no more
I ain't telling you no more
Darlin' I ain't telling you no more

Well, I ain't telling you no more
I ain't telling you no more
I'm not about giving up on us
I'm not about walking out of the door
I ain't telling you no more”

Track 16.
“Duty of Care”

“Days are different for us now
Just spending mornings trying to keep it together
Don't really want to say it out loud
Trying my best to keep it down
But the silence gets harder to contain at night
I'd rather patch things up
Than risk another fight

Clouds of smoke rings fill the air
Empty thoughts when you're not there
Hearts are breaking in disrepair
Whatever happened to our duty of care

Days are spent playing games
Just to see which one of us will blink first
It hurts knowing only one will win
Video calls from movie sets
Leaves me feeling alone and bereft
If only you could see the mess
That all these mind games are causing me

Clouds of smoke rings fill the air
Empty thoughts when you're not there
Hearts are breaking in disrepair
Whatever happened to our duty of care

There's no button to reset
That will start this over for us again
We must learn to forgive
We must learn how to forget

It's clear that we both know what we're doing
We're experts at getting a reaction
Spent too many years learning how to work a crowd
But it seems those lessons learned
Are the very same ones that are letting us down
Can we just say it together
“I want you now”

I don't care if it takes us forever
If we stay up all night trying to put those pieces together
I'm willing to put my ego to one side
If you're willing to do the very same for your foolish pride
We can fix this mess tonight

Clouds of smoke rings double in the air
With you laying with me there
I can see the wounds are healing in repair
With love, there's always
A duty of care”

Track 17.
“Around in Circles”

“I think I need a little time to myself
A little space to figure out
It's been a while since I last felt fine
I know the absence of your love is hard to go without

Why must you insist on fixing hearts?
Just to let em' break again

All we seem to do is go around in circles
Yeah, all we seem to do is go around and around
All we seem to do is go around in circles
Yeah, all we seem to do is go around and around

I think it's over
And there you are again
Right on cue
Why do I let you do
The things that you do to me

Why must you insist on fixing hearts?
Just to let em' break again

All we seem to do is go around in circles
Yeah, all we seem to do is go around and around
All we seem to do is go around in circles
Yeah, all we seem to do is go around and around

Why must you insist on fixing hearts?
Just to let em' break again

All we seem to do is go around in circles
Yeah, all we seem to do is go around and around
All we seem to do is go around in circles
Yeah, all we seem to do is go around and around”

Track 18.
“When They're A Little Older”

“Your little smiles light up even the darkest moments
Nothing else matters in the world tonight
I can feel your soft heartbeats as you fall asleep on my chest
Rosy cheeks from the warmth of the firelight
So young and full of running
Not the slightest worry in the world
I don't know how they became so strong
My precious little boy and girl

Oh lord, please don't let them grow up, don't let them grow up
Don't change a single thing
Oh lord, please don't let them grow up, don't let them grow up
Don't let them see the pain this world can bring
I hope it doesn't hurt them
I can't bare the truth to break their hearts
I hope it doesn't make them colder
I can't bare the truth to break their hearts
When they're a little older

Will they have a normal life even when they know the truth
Will they be able to forgive and forget
I know that's not something I have the capacity to do
Will they have a normal life even when they know the truth
Will they be able to forgive and forget
And be able to enjoy their youth

Sometimes it feels like I'm doing this all by myself
But I know that you're observing from above
Sometimes it feels like I need more help
But I know we've still got your strength and love

But I know we've still got your strength and love”

OOC: And we are finished. I may write up a couple of descriptive stuff, time permitting in order to flesh out the album and go a little more in depth with the tracks, but for now this is completed. I know it's not the most appealing when there's not so much detail to work with but hopefully the lyrics paint enough of the heart on the sleeve, just trying to figure out how to get by sort of vibe that I was going with :)

Hayden: This was a very beautiful album, Brandon. I listened to it a couple of times just to really get into it and I'm very glad my sister met someone like you. I hope one day my niece and nephew will be able to listen to this album and feel what I felt; a little sadness but knowing that she was so loved. I'm sure this was difficult to not only record but release it.

OOC: Excellent work on everything! I really loved the lyrics to every song :)I think your lyrics are the kind that can stand out on its own without having descriptions, at least for me. It made me sad for killing off my own character lol but at least it did get to inspire a nice album Laugh

Brandon: Thank you, Hayden. I truly appreciate that, it's a tribute of course but I didn't want the record to come across as overwhelming devastating because that's not what your sister was about, without doubt the most positive person I've ever had the privilege of knowing. Obviously the record was always going to have that aspect of sadness but I'd like to think the beauty and heart of it is the overwhelming tone of the album. I hope it serves as a relic that Charlotte and Caleb can listen to when the time is right and understand the sort of love that we had for each other. They miss yourself and Isabel greatly, as do I. You're both always welcome to come down to the farm in Tennessee whenever you need.

OOC: Thank you, I'd have liked to have gone into a little more detail with the tracks but I'm glad that the lyrics alone tell enough of the story. You should feel sad for killing her off, you have blood on your hands, my friend! But nah, it gave me an interesting aspect to write from and I'm glad it seemed to come out alright! :)

Abie Lena: The more I listen to your album, the more I cry guts out, this is extremely heartbreaking, but yet it's still beautiful and tender. "Duty Care" is my soft spot on this, the way you talk about the lack essa of not having the one you love beside you it's disconcerting, I have lost my father and even though your tragedy is different than mine I can tell you I feel the same way. Country music, if I'm allowed to say that this is the style of this record, it's always close to my heart. Tell me, are you ok about singing these songs live? I can only imagine the hardness of doing so, anyways, thanks for this beautiful music.

OOC: FINALLY getting around to post a comment. Been meaning to for ages but wasn't in the right headspace to really read over and take in the last couple of tracks. Once again, I think that your writing is top notch and among some of the best I've read throughout my time here. It reads almost like a journal - a very introspective record. I love that. Not that there's anything wrong with some playful pop but I really love getting further insights into characters when the music is very personal and specific to them. Brandon has always been a character with a strong sound and image, consistently at the top of his game. It's great to have new original material from him after all this time!

OOC: I'm glad BrownSugar bumped this so that I could check this out! I'm glad that since I've been away, you've continued to write such heartfelt, beautiful lyrics - Brandon's have always been some of my favourites. Sometimes lyrics are all you need to get a feel for an artist's music and direction, so this works perfectly. Wonderful work! :)

Brandon: Thank you Abie and I'm sorry to hear of the loss of your father. As musician's we often strive to create something relatable but there are times in our lives where we just need to create for ourselves and that is what this record was for me and I'm certain that this is something that you understand yourself having created some of the most emotive songs I've ever heard. I don't know what will occur when it's time to perform these songs live, I'm certain it will be tough.

OOC: Thank you, I'm glad that you enjoyed it. I think the type of music Brandon makes kind of lends itself to creating more personal songs that are about his own experiences, but I think this is the first full album where it's very much about what he's gone through and how he's dealt with moving forward and the challenges of all of that. I'm glad that it was enjoyed in some way, thanks again! :)
