Milian finally gearing up to release her music



Before Milian was signed to Big Diamond Records she was live in Tampa, Florida & was raised by her single mother. She was bullied when she was in high school but it didn't stop her from archiving her goals. In 2018 she was signed to "Lil Wayne" record label "Young Money Entertainment/Republic Records" & started to record her album. in 2019 she was dropped/let go from Young Money Entertainment/Republic Records due to unknown reason why she was dropped but Universal Music Group decided to keep Milian until they find right record label for her so she still with UMG but in 2020 UMG finally got her signed to Big Diamond Records & she finally went back to studio & continue to work on her album. Her debut single "Show Me" was release and peaked at 16 on the charts also she signed with Dahlhouse Entertainment as management, Her original date was supposed to release album in Q2 in 2021 but however it pushing back till to the point she needed her much time to get album finished and it was done but however her original album titled "Roses" was shelved after she didn't like the way it come out and label ask her if she wanted to take creative control but this mean she'll have to scrapped the album or just stick to her album till she ready and she choose to take control on her album and went away from social media and in public eye for 2 years . In 2025 she posted on Instagram as she hinted that she'll be coming back with her new single and new sound.

Milian, welcome to IJM aka It's Juicy Music as our first interview with you

Milian: Hey thank you for having me as your first artist to be interview!

how are you & how does it feel to have a comeback single that sounded like you wanted?

Milian: Well I can say is that it's finally happen like i'm been working on the album for like 2 years well 4 years cause i have to count the old session that i had and now i'm finally be able to like had the sound that it felt mature and didn't have to worry bout anything else so right now i can say that it coming and i promise people and you that it won't be disappointed.

So we'll get into the new single "Love Me" in a bit but for right now we wanted know what make you wanted start doing music and how was label treating you?

Milian: Well i started doing music when i was in elementary age and at first i wanna be actress and dancer but then i had a strong feeling bout me singing so then i was like i wanna be singer and at age of um what like 10 year old i was appearing some tv doing acting and dancing then talent show and sports i was serious at that age so it was like non stop work for me cause i wanna be in industry where i can learn from it and use it so um so far it been fun.

So how was in high school for you personally and signed to Young Money Entertainment while in high school then dropped from that label so what was going thru your head?

Milian: Oh boy um so for school it was tough in high school like it different than middle school cause middle school it wasn't hard but kinda pick on here and there i dealt with it before but high school have starting to where im at breaking point to where i'm at this close to do homeschooling away from bullies like it was nightmare from the day i got to sophomore year i wasn't notice at freshman i'm like okay so far it good but sophomore is where i was bullied for being pretty and first of all i don't look pretty and be bitchy i'm just ordinary girl you'll ever meet! So it does put me down a little but i kept going for the goal is get signed and prove people wrong i mean for those who don't see me success. While i'm still in high school I sent them demo i recorded and then Young Money/Republic want me to meet them in office and i sing for them and got signed and then i was already got start working on my music and i was in studio at night then school by day so at first it was crazy but amazing however in mid 2019 i got a call from label and they drop me and Modest Management who got me sign with label also drop me so i felt like my career is over like i had no where else to go to.

Okay so how did Big Diamond Records came in to sign you also how was it with "Show Me" as your debut single ?

Milian: Well i was in Senior year in 2020/21 so I was working at mall till i got a call from my manager and say that UMG say that they want you to meet Big Diamond Records in person at their office in NYC so i was offer and was like hell yeah i could give music second try and i did and they were like professional and pleasure to meet them also they say you're not a star yet but if you improve yourself then your a star so immediately they wanted me to improve my skills to keep up where other artist is at, so after school i didn't even think about going to hang out with friends like i had to work *laugh* like i had no time but to get to where i am and also i was recording some songs here and there like there was a song called "Show Me" and i immediately knew it was my single and i wanna meet this person who wrote this song and they say no you gonna have to wait and see which in my head i thought i might be crazy if i hear "Coke" wrote this song and then i meet her i went insane like "OMG HI I'M MILIAN I'M HUGE FAN OF YOUR MUSIC SO IT WAS NICE TO ME YOU!" *laughing uncontrollably* omg it was funny but it was embarrass thing i ever done like i know in my head like if i ever meet someone that i look up to i gotta chill at this point like no more fangirling unless the if it someone i couldn't contain the feeling so yeah love this single and she was fun to work with so it was fun.

Now let get into important question that everyone had been asking, what made you not be in public eye or social media for 2 and half year?

Milian: Well um the real reason why i went away is to find me and also kinda new a break just so i can relax and also i was not happy with the way label and they wanted me to market as the perfect girl next door but for me i wanna go where nobody else would be taking so it gotten to point where i wanna scrapped the album that it finished then have it come out as a fresh start session for me you know, so that one reason which i went away to record some new music and discover me the second reason is depression I was in that for 2 months or so tryna find the sound which one is working which is not then i got argue with someone that i used to have a friend now i don't it just put a dapper on me and it hard like i couldn't take it so i stop social media and being in public eye and i needed some peace. So once I finally be able to found the image and new sound also look i was be able to go back to studio and back to work after few week of break.



So we heard a little rumors that you might've have an mentor and was kept it secret till it was right timing so if you do wanna confirm who is your mentor?

Milian: Well now i can "laugh" ok i was mentored by Billy and here the story so i notice that he like my post of me singing cover and he even like the debut single i put out so then he sent me and my team an email and he stating that he was impressed by my talents and that he had beliefs which he could help me develop me into an even bigger artist and i was told to do not tell anyone bout this till it's right timing and now i can it just a 2 years ago i can't say it like i'm still in shock like can't believe it and i was omg yes i would love to had mentor and after i met him he was cool so down to earth so i glad i met him in person and he was excited to work with me like it official i'm gonna be mentor by him. Then we began to sharpened my skills and he have me doing drill like he a had me running around in the park with him just to build my stamina up when i go on stage when i dancing and singing at the same time and had to sing while running like um what "laugh" then he actually taught me a little trick that no one else knew so i can't tell you the trick but i can however say it worked so he treat me like a big brother like he'll give it to you straight but motivate me like to get better at it so yeah i can be honest and say like it's great to have Billy as my mentor like i don't have any regrets of it.

So your new single is called "Love Me" that was previously announce in last month on your website & we were expecting some dance electronic but didn't know it was gonna be some pop era for you like we're pretty amaze but hearing snippet on your website is crazy but we knew we're on to you on something like maybe somebody done her right, So what your take on your song and explain detail on what "Love Me" mean?

Milian: So "Love Me" is about how she expected certain thing she need like she need a man that can treat her right and she hate when some guys would love her then go fuck with some other chick like it not cool so it either you love me or fuck off so yeah oh also i write this song like in 5 min like for real 5 min "laugh" so it was different then the previously session i did back in 2022 or 2021 cause man i didn't write all the song it was kept given after given i didn't have a chance to write cause of label and it was organic for me like damn but now i write on some songs it depend how it fit description i need for that album so um so far i was happy with that progress

What artists are you influence by & why?

Milian: My influence would have to be is Weekend, Coke, Naomi, Orion, Keshia Love, Elle-Grace Summers cause i felt like their music has got me inspired

When is your album is coming out and explain what the detail of your album? Also you single or taken?

Milian: Oooh this is tough um the album is gonna be out i don't know when it coming out but hoping in Summer or fall it depend on how it goes so far cause right now it's complete but can't reveal tracklist unless there an snippet from me so i gonna be teasing and teasing till i'm finally ready to reveal some songs on the album but it been cut after cut till it was perfect for me so right now you'll have to wait and see also yes i'm actually single for most part "playful tone voice" so boys if you want to come get me you can "laugh"

Where can we expect to see you in 2025?

Milian: I wanna have a career that has release album and going on tour real soon cause right now it been impact cause of the new era i'm really ready to come out and there may be a video of "Love Me" coming up real soon which i can't get into it but i can say it was good time cause i can't even explain or have the word coming out of me but it really starting to show that it ready for world to finally see my true body of art work of the debut album
