About Me
When I was young, I wasn’t very popular, I spent most of my childhood with my brothers and sisters, they were really my only friends, I can only remember me being very happy growing, that’s the main thing I remember, I didn’t have friends but I was always smiling and happy. I remember when I was 11 I got my first crush, on a girl called Hayley, she was very unusual to say the least but I guess I was just drawn to her, anyway we became best friends and we were pretty much inseparable, we were only ever friends though.
Then at 14 my family moved us to London and things changed, I went into a normal school which was pretty different to what I was used to, in Wiltshire I spent all of my school life at an all boys school, so girls were an unusual thing for me personally, I didn’t really know much about girls, other than my sisters and other female family members that’s the only girls I ever really knew. Anyway in London I was in class full of girls, there was like 7 boys and 13 girls so that was different and very exciting, I was always nervous and uncomfortable around new people and girls in particular, so in the first couple of weeks of school I was always worried whenever the girls would talk to me, but within a couple of weeks I was better around them and even became friends with at least half of the class. It was probably the most enjoyable time of my life from the age of 14, I was becoming quite popular at school and it was the first time I had proper friends who I’d meet up with outside of school, at that time I was learning to play guitar which people seemed to find interesting and I was always asked to play a couple of songs, I’ll admit I was pretty terrible at it to begin with but kids don’t really care as long as it’s kind of fun or interesting which I guess it was.
At 15 I was now pretty capable playing guitar and singing and I took my guitar to school with me everyday and I’d play during break time and lunch time which was fun, I almost felt like the kind of school. It was at this time when I fell in love with a girl called Emma, I was crazy in love and after about 3 months, we finally kissed and before I knew it we were dating - well what passes as dating to a 15 year old - we were together for about 6 months which is a pretty long time for a 15 year old. I haven’t dated anyone since then, I’ve had friends and most of my friends are girls but I haven’t actually been in a relationship for just under two years, I know I’m a loser.
Then at 16 it was an amazing year, I loved every minute of my life, my grades turned out to be amazing and I decided to go to college for a year to study music. It was a great learning experience. I had a lot of fun in college at that time but I was eager to just get playing, after the year finished I decided to try and make a go of a music career, I’ve been touring small clubs in the UK for about 7 months now, sometimes playing to over 60 people sometimes performing to less than 10 people, it can be frustrating at times but I believe that I can make things happen and I’d like to think I’m not far off from getting signed but we’ll see what happens. |
