Hot Topic Exclustive Behind the Scenes Look With James Garnder For many reasons, I wanted to take this job. One reason because the challenge of it and the popular demand of G2L's music. I'm so excited about going behind the scenes look of G2L's new music video "Imperfect Girl" that releases October 4th worldwide. And because- I kind of half of crush on Stefani Vola, so talented and stunning, so I'm kind of nervous and getting an hard one thinking about her. I know I will also meet Bre Turner- the lovely manager for G2L, also I will meet their gay bodyguard, named Elvis. (smiles) it should be an rememberance journey. I will get my packs and head off to Turner Backdrop Studios. SEPTEMBER, 24- TURNER BACKDROP STUDIOS. 7AM. SET UP/ HAIR AND MAKEUP/ SCENES 1-3. It's pretty early and the set is starting and many strong men are running around- I will go and check it out more. (few seconds later) I'm here into the building of the studios and just an black backdrop is on the set and also makeup artist stand by. I dont know where the girls are at- but I do see Bre. She is walking, with this long yellow and white summer dress with many papers in her hands. She walks to the backroom where the dressing rooms are. I look on the papers and this is planning to be an three day shoot with many sets involved. I'm so excited. I walk to the backrooms where one of the rooms that has an purple door, on the door reads, " Stefani Vola" I also screamed like an dreaming kid in the candy store. All of the sudden, I hear many people running. I go outside and see the GIRLS OF G2L, getting out of the long black limo. Many people pull them from different directions to take them to hair and makeup. Oh Dawn and Stefani just walked pass me- SNAP OUT OF IT JAMES! I'm just an queer sometimes. Just an few hours later, me listening to this old lady, tell stories about her life. Being at age of 71, it will pleasent. I walk back inside the building to see that the girls was half naked as they lay on the backdrop and the dim lights shine down on them. They look amazing. They all cover each other with their bodies. Next, they all get an beauty shot wiht NO MAKEUP as an close up with the cameras. They also look amazing without makeup. The wind blows as they then go to the next scene where all of the girls stand in the line with white dresses on and no makeup. They do rip the dresses off and then are dressed like normal teenagers and no makeup. I then look amazed. " That's an wrap" SEPTEMBER, 25- ART STUDIOS OF WARNER BROTEHRS. 5PM/ SCENES 3-6/ MOST STUNNING FOOTAGE I get their late as the girls are in this white room, white walls with this white piano as an white man with an white suit plays with soul as the two cameras face the girls and they sing. Designers then draw " I'm not Perfect" on the white walls as the girls stands on each wall and look away like they are looking into the future. Later, outstanding wild colors are done with their makeup as they run thought an field with roses and yellow flowers. They all sing as they have bright colored dresses on and then as their makeup are done as scars are on their face and body. They dance so peacely as the cameras go to the sky.
SEPTEMBER 26- MANY LOCATIONS. 5AM/ SCENES 6-10/
[size=4]This music video has been amazing so far and it's just getting started- the idea is having the girls telling their own stories in the video. We are now, the camera crew as AJ is the only one here. We are at an farm, very country and modern a lot of white horses are around and dirt. She is standing there with an little girl, that is similar to her. " The idea of the video is having them switch to childhood to adulthood." the director says. The cameras starts rolling as the little girl starts to run and cry as then camera two focuses on AJ running also with an long white dress on, the little girl holds an mic, as it drags and they both get on the horse horses. The little girl sits down and then I had to leave. SHIT! It was getting good. I'm now at an modern toned house, very urban neighboorhood, in downtown LA. Hira stands there, laughing with the camera crew as they film here, looking at the window and the sun reflects on her natural beauty with no beauty. Later, the location with Lyrica was in an flat field as she lays there in an black dress and gold sandles, she sits there playing the guitar. Stefani and this little girl starts to walk as the creative directors flash this light on them, more like walking into destiny. An couple of actors- two adults, male and female, act as if they was argueing, as an little blonde girl starts to scream and cry. She run upstairs and Brittany is upstairs, as she lays in her bed with the covers over her. The makeup is messed up as her face is wet and blood is applyed on the side of her face- NO NO NO! I wont leave. They kicked me out. I actually heard it was an week shoot, but I only had an three day exclustive ANYWAY. I know this video is going to be amazing. All the scenes I havent saw, I did make it late to the September 25 shoot so the video I heard will premiere tomorrow worldwide, so I will see then(I didnt want to give too much away- so tell me what you think) |
