As Matt sits backstage of the Hard Rock Cafe in Dallas Texas waiting for Suburban Sunrise to go on stage and play their 16 song set when a lady in a red dress named Melissa came over to Matt and asked if she could ask him a few questions.Melissa: Hey Matt I'm a big fan of your music so would it be ok if I asked you some questions?
Matt: Ya of course I love doing these things.
Melissa: Ok so Suburban Sunrise just released a new acoustic single called Missing You which I just love and it shows a whole other side to your music. Can you tell me what that song is about?
Matt: Sure. Well as you know I used to be dating Stacy Walton and things were really passionate and running good and when she wanted to break up because of the long distance it just crushed me. So what I did is I went to my little home studio wrote some lyrics and recorded a dry demo of it with my acoustic guitar and gave it to Nicole and Nick to see if they wanted to try it. Nick automatically loved it but Nicole didnt want to sing it so I told her I would sing it and there it is. But the song was just written about Stacy.
Melissa: That's sweet. Um Nicole recently posted on the bands website that she is looking for a man. Why would she post it on the bands website?
Matt: Because she has been really really really lonely. She hasn't had a boyfriend since her Junior year and she just really wants someone to call her own. And she is like really insecure about herself because in High School girls would make fun of her and call her ugly. But you know if any guys are interested in meeting her I think they would be surprised with how cool she is.
Melissa: Your hit single Vulture premiered at number 3 on the top 20 charts and after two weeks its not even on the charts. What do you think happened?
Matt: I think people just lost interest like they always do. It happened with us when we released our debut album Doesn't Mean Its Legal. People started taking notice of us then they all lost interest in us. We all thought we were going to make it big but people obviously only like one or two songs that we release. And I have a feeling we probably wont have a song reach the top 10 again.
Melissa: I'm sure you will have plenty hits in the future. Now on this massive 7 band tour who are you most excited to see play?
Matt: Well I haven't listened to much of Jenny Hudson's music so I'm definitely going to be watching her set along with Daniel's.
Melissa: What is your favorite song to play live?
Matt: Currently its two of our songs. I love playing one of our older songs "Lines" and our new song that we close with "Vulture." All the kids know the words to those two songs and its really amazing to see the kids dancing and singing along.
Melissa: Are you guys going to be releasing a new album or CD anytime soon?
Matt: We just released the new album and you already want new music! Damn! Well to answer that we are going to be putting alot of tracks that didnt make the album onto a 5 song EP that should be out next year. We are not going to release anything to soon because we just released the new LP.
Melissa: Who are your favorite artists right now?
Matt: Well I don't listen to alot of modern music. I listen to mostly classical music like Bach and Mozart. But the artist I do listen to are Infinite, Daniel, Stacy Walton, Vulker and The Millions, and even a little bit of Glamazon every now and then.
Melissa: Now tomorrow night you are playing an acoustic set at the find Miss Vanity concert. What songs will you be playing?
Matt: I'm going to be playing 5 songs. I'm not going to tell you all of them because I want you to watch but I'm going to be playing "Lines" and "Cancer Song" those are two of the five I'm going to play.
Melissa: Are you looking for a new girl?
Matt: Um ya I kinda am. Its not the number one thing on my mind but ya I am looking for a girl.
Melissa: Well that does it! Thank you so much for doing this! Go and kick ass tonite!
Matt: Your welcome and ill try!
