NME
Three of the four faces composing Milo! are no strangers to the public eye especially to true alternative rock fans. Carl Morisson, JPC, and Tristan Fuller were all famous for their roles in the alternative rock act Reckoner, winning Best Newcomer and Best Live Act in the previous IMAs and spawning three of the greatest alternative rock albums in history, Invisible, Backstabber, and Everything X. The only stranger of the group is their 18 year old vocalist Darren Barnett, a young musician hailing from Manchester. People all over the world have been sending us emails requesting for more information on the young frontman and after only a few hours, we have gathered all the information you guys need. Let us all get to know better, the voice of Milo!

NME: Good day Darren! So ho...
DB: Hi, I'm Liam Darren Barnett, born August 14, 1992 and I come from Manchester England. Is that enough to make you guys leave?
NME: The interview hasn't even started!
DB: Just kiddin mate, go on with the questions.
NME: Good one. So can you tell us how your childhood was like?
DB: Well I grew up in Manchester with my mom who was a musician, my dad who was a teacher, grandparents, a few uncles and aunts, plus some more cousins. We lived in this huge house somewhere in the suburbs.
NME: Wow! How many were you in that household?
DB: We were all 19 in the house, but amazingly we were able to fit in there since it did have 10 rooms.
NME: So does that make you a rich kid?
DB: Well not really. The house had been built sometime in the early 20th century and after the 2nd world war, my great great grandpa was able to buy it for just 2000 pounds. I'd have to say we are working class. I actually had to work at the age of 14 in the market to be able to buy my very first guitar.
NME: Were you the goody goody good boy or the problem child?
DB: I'd have to say a little bit of both. i was responsible and hardworking as a child, but I often got into brawls in school and in football. I'd like to say I keep myself balanced
NME: What made you interested in pursuing a musical career?
DB: Most motivation came from my mom who was a pianist. She taught me how to play the piano at the age of 7 and it was really the first instrument I learned. Then at the age of 10 I joined a marching band and played the drums. Then at the age of 14, I was invited to join a local band but they required me to play the guitar so I quickly bought one and started to learn.
DB: Who are your major influences when it comes to music?
NME: Jakey Comatose all the way. That guy seriously has amazing talent and I would have loved to work with him if I only joined the industry earlier. I also listen to bands like Quarantine, The Bards, and The Voyd.
NME: If you had the chance to work with a female artist, who would you chose and why?
DB: Stacey Walton. She's hot, talented, and so badass. Definitely my type of woman.
NME: I agree. So what were your early experiences as a musician?
DB: I started off as an acoustic guy, I played in pubs with only my acoustic and that's where Iw as able to save up some money to be able to buy electrics and amplifiers. As soon as I got my electric guitar, I joined several bands as either rhythm or lead guitarist. Genre didn't matter at first since I could play jazz, blues, metal, nearly anything. I was in a permanent band sometime before the Reckoner break up thing. We played alternative rock but mostly covers. I got fed up with the vocalist since he kept on bossing me around on what to do gig after gig after gig so I quit the band and started working in a music store. Then suddenly I heard of the news of the auditions for a new vocalist so I tried out and luckily I won.
NME: So how does it feel to be working with musical geniuses?
DB: It feels great. Carl, JPC, and Tristan are all great guys. Fun when it comes to play but serious when it comes to work. Can't wait to officially start working with them on records and stuff.
NME: Last Question. Describe yourself in one word.
DB: Sexy?
NME: Great answer!

I've said it before, and I'll say it again; I'm very, very excited about Milo! Carl, JPC, and Tristan are all close friends of mine, and they've done a terrific job picking out a singer. If you guys need a producer for your upcoming releases, then let me know!

-Eric Quillington
Kid Anything- Indie/Britpop/Shoegaze; influenced by Sigur Ros, XXYYXX, Kanye West, Blur, Oasis

(Bringing together an eclectic group of influences, Ulysses' songs are sung with carefree abandon by Nick Junk)

Kurt Ulysses - Songwriter, Guitarist, Backup Vocalist
Nick Junk - Vocals, Mojo

Infinite- Alternative/Experimental Rock; influenced by Muse, Radiohead, and The Beatles

(Known best for their experimental music and their frontman's eccentric behavior, the band disbanded after Eric Quillington's death to pursue solo careers or, in Matt Robert's case, peace of mind. Infinite released four albums over the course of their career; Blue Nebula, Midnight Skies, Insomnia, and Dancing about Architecture.)

Eric Quillington (Deceased) - Lead Vocals, Lead Guitar, Piano, Primary Lyricist
Matt Roberts - Bass
Greg Oldson - Drums, Backup Vocals, Secondary Lyricist
Amelia Florentine - Keyboards, Piano, Lyricist, Backup Vocals

"When asked 'how do you write?' I invariably answer, 'one word at a time', and this answer is invariably dismissed. But that's all it is. It sounds too simple to be true, but consider the Great Wall of China, if you will: one stone at a time, man. That's all. One stone at a time. But I've read you can see that motherfucker from space without a telescope."
