EXCLUSIVE FAN Q&A Chloe 22, Boston, Massachusetts Which do you prefer California or New York and why? I guess I’d have to say New York, The way I see California and New York are completely different, I guess I see California as the party place and New York is the work place and I like the work place, yeah New York easily my favourite place, you can feel pretty lonely at times but I adore everything about New York City, no place I’d rather be.
Emily 17, Washington What can we expect from your sophomore album? Well the recording process hasn’t begun yet, I have a lot of songs finished for the album and I have a rough idea of the Tracklisting and to be totally honest, I think it’s some of my best writing so far, it’s got more of my RnB/Soul/Blues feel to it, certainly when I wrote the songs that was my first thoughts on what kind of thread it fit into, where my first album was more pop oriented this is more me. I’m really excited about it and I can’t wait to start recording it.
Jason 26, New York When can we expect your second album to be released? Providing everything goes to plan, I’d say around April/May time. I’ll take a two week break after the tour finishes in February and then go straight into the studio and get down to working on it. I’ve got most of the songs writing completed and it’s just the recording that’s needed so hopefully not too far away from it being released.
Pablo 32, Mexico Your only 22 years old and have only released one album but it feels like you’ve been around longer and you’ve sort of already took on a mothering role with some young acts like G2L and Hayley Hudson, what’s your opinion on the current state of music? I’m actually very excited to see how it works out for some. I think it’s as exciting now as it’s been in a very long time, to address the mothering role, I get what your saying because I’ve not even been a professional musician for over a year yet so it’s bizarre, but I’ve had some great success this year and a lot of new artist seem to look to me for advice and support which is beautiful and I’ll help anyway I can, G2L and Hayley Hudson are very promising. Right now I’m most excited about Chloe and it’s good to see RNB-esque music back in the forefront of music right now, Cherise also has done incredibly well recently and I’m very excited to see where she goes from there, of course Matty is a pretty big name, there’s pop acts like Michelle Green who have all done brilliantly and the reccuring theme is of course the fact that they’re all so young. I was 22 when I got a record deal and some of these are 15,16,17,18 and they blow me away with their talent and ambition, so yeah I‘m so excited and I‘m happy to help out anyway I can.
Johnny 25, Utah Would you ever consider a judging role on a talent show? It would depend on various different things really, I really like around the world but I find it quite inconsistent at times but it’s a great platform. If a new music talent show was to come around and they wanted me to judge, I’d certainly consider it but there’s too many variables, if you look at some shows they focus more on the back stories too much, I think if it was just about vocal ability then I’d probably be more interested but for me it would have to be the right kind of talent show.
Francis 27, London How are you going to be spending Christmas? I’ll be back at home in New York for Christmas. I’ll see my parents maybe on the 28th December because they travel all through the year, but yeah I’ll be spending Christmas day at my apartment in New York with my two dogs. I’ll maybe see a couple of friends in the afternoon or on the day after Christmas.
Mark 29, Jersey Are you single? Yeah, It’s been a pretty hectic couple of months what with the touring and stuff so I haven‘t had time to find love. It’s not a case of just finding someone but finding the right person, he’ll turn up eventually, I’m sure.
Emma 17, Dublin How tough was it to deal with Stephanie’s passing? It was one of the hardest things for me to deal with in a very long time, I remember auditioning for Junction Records in 2009 and I sang Kill The Runaways. She’s always been at the top of my list of favourite artists and to get the chance to not only meet her but to record a song with her and even become friends with her was an experience I’ll cherish forever. She kinda took me under her wing and made things so much easier for me coming into the music industry because I found it tough at first but she helped me out with dealing with press and other little things to keep me sane. She had a major impact on my life and became almost like a big sister kind of presence in my life, she was there whenever I needed to talk about anything and I miss her everyday. She was just one of a kind. |
