It's completly written by Stephanie. The beginning is pretty raw, which is inspired by the 80's Music. After the first chorus, when the first Verse starts, the real Melody begins to play. Stephanie's Voice is pretty dark and almost like whispering, on the record. The Song has elements of Indie Rock, Indie Pop and Bubble Goth. It's confirmed that this Track is about her Ex-Boyfriend, who cheated on her. Doll on 'Dead', "I don't have much to say about this Track. Let's say this ; I fucking hate my ex-boyfriend and I wish him, from the bottom of my heart, death. That's end of the story." CRITICS "Dead" was well received by most critics. In a positive review of the song, Robert Copsey of Digital Spy gave it four out of five stars and praised Barbie Doll's direction towards a "Mysterious and like-able sound". Brittany Lewis of GlobalGrind called "Dead" a Hit song and felt that it had the potential to be another hit for Stephanie, after the success of 'Lost In a Big World'. Rolling Stone gave it 5 out of 5 stars , and praised the uniqueness and unusual sound of the Track. They also praised the production of the Sound, next to the brilliant Songwriting. MTV praised "Dead" and called it a perfect but creepy song, after a break-up. But that's not really a bad thing, all the best people are actually out of their minds. It's surprising though because you look small and cute and then you're like 'Oh no, I'm actually totally fcking crazy' haha I love that sense of unexpectedness! But I gotta say, this song is pretty awesome, I haven't heard anything of your music before, but I'll no doubt be giving more of your music a listen, I always like seeing people embrace darker lyrical themes so kudos to you on that! Great job!

I mean it is a good song I just hope this isn't like catcher in the rye where people listen to this and then start killing off people. Then again that made the book more famous than it would have.
