“Hostile Takeover: World Tour” is a concert tour from American rock band “Riot! In The Boulevard” in support of their fifth studio album “Boycott Love” which was released on October 18, 2015 and the remixed version of that album titled “The Hostile Takeover Edition” which is set to be released in January 2016 and featured alternative versions of the original songs from “Boycott Love” featuring rap and hip-hop stars on each of the fourteen tracks. The announcement of this world tour, sees the pop-punk trio embark on their third official world tour since their debut in 2011. Traditionally the bands world tours have stretched out of two year periods, but it’s expected that the “Hostile Takeover” world tour is likely to be shorted than their previous world tour with the band stating that they expect to put out their sixth studio album later in 2016 and also due to the fact that the band took time off after their previous world tour burned them out somewhat, leading to the band scheduling less shows than previous tours.
The world tour see’s the band begin in North America playing stadiums and arenas across the country with another two legs announced for Latin America and Europe. It’s been confirmed that all dates for the tour have not been finalised and that it’s likely that additional dates will be added to the tour on a regular basis as well as an additional two legs likely to be added to the tour at some point in later 2016. However the confirmed dates so far, see the band committed from January through to June 2016 and the tour has also seen the band confirm their place on the summer festival circuit, performing at Rock AM Ring in Germany in June and four UK festival dates between July and August with more likely to be added in the near future.
Support acts for the tour have yet to be fully announced, with upcoming and still relatively unknown rapper “Jaymay” set to open for the band on the opening North American leg of the tour and the British based rock trio “Oh Captain | My Captain” announced for the European leg of the tour, however the main support acts have yet to be announced for the tour and are likely to be announced over the next couple of weeks.
