Jack Dunn (born in North Shields, Newcastle, UK) is a British singer-songwriter and alternative rock musician. Emerging from the formerly vibrant North East music scene, Dunn is an artist that is on course to be the regions biggest export in the music industry, initially gaining prominence in 2024 for his nostalgia driven, emotionally charged songwriting and raw vocal delivery. He is signed to Head South Records and has achieved a couple of chart-topping singles since his debut and remains one of the most highly rated young performers in the industry.

Born and raised in North Shields, a coastal town near Newcastle upon Tyne, England. Growing up in the North East, Dunn was influenced by the area’s rich musical heritage, drawing inspiration from British rock, indie, and alternative acts as well as taking inspiration from classic American singer-songwriters and bands of the 60’s and 70’s. His early work as a performer and songwriter has reflected themes of working-class life, introspection, nostalgia and personal struggle, which would go on to define his songwriting style throughout the early periods of his debut years.
Having learnt to play Piano and Guitar during his teenage years, Dunn only officially began his music career in 2022, performing in small venues across Newcastle before gaining traction online for his soulful, introspective approach to modern rock. His breakthrough came as he was signed to Head South Records following an open mic audition for the label, which eventually led to the release of his debut single, “Lowlife” on January 20, 2024, which unexpectedly debuted at number one, earning him critical acclaim for its gritty, honesty and atmospheric production. This was then followed up later in that same year with the release of “Silence So Loud” on October 23, 2024 and “Sleeping Rough” on December 28, 2024, both of which were dedicated to charitable causes and became number one hits for the burgeoning singer-songwriter.

Each of those releases further cemented Dunn’s reputation as one of the UK’s most promising artists. Despite the successes of 2024, Dunn has opted to maintain a relatively low personal profile, choosing to focus solely on the recording of his debut album throughout the majority of 2025 with the exception of a high-profile supporting slot for Weekend’s “One Night Only” performance at Wembley, London in February 2025 where he debuted a couple of previously unheard tracks likely to make the cut on his debut album.
Later in 2025 he appeared on his first feature track alongside Mercedes titled “The Horse You Rode In On” which was released on September 10, 2025, the track took aim at the current political landscape within the United Kingdom and has been seen as a game-changing rallying cry, with many praising the track as one that gave voice to the wider disenchanted population but also a voice to the younger generation. The track became a number one hit for Mercedes as the pairs chemistry was unanimously praised as well as the honest and direct nature of the track.

With the debut album complete and a 2026 release date all but confirmed, it’s likely that these next few months will see a handful of announcements for fans of this emerging UK talent, with the weight of expectations firmly on his shoulders, only time will tell whether he is able to live up to the hype.
