Just completed my first game, a Cultural Victory. With 3 cities, as Gandhi. Sorted!

Yeah, the Huge maps are kind of a grind, and I've got 6GB of RAM and a reasonable enough CPU

jesus.....

damnit do i play through the sacrifice for L4D or wait for it to download for L4D2 which will take another 8 hours.....
not sure if i can wait... and i do frikkin love the characters from the first game..

Edit.......

Steam have also slashed the price of left for dead and left for dead 2 by 66% so i really really really recomend buying two fantastic games at what i consider to be an amazing price!! well £7.81 is quite cheap

Got NBA 2K11 and it is the best (realistic) basketball game I have ever played. Having Michael Jordan certainly doesn't hurt the game either.

Also, if you haven't played Borderlands yet and need yet another reason to pick up the GotY edition it will be coming with exclusive early access to the Duke Nukem Forever demo.

Just got Oblivion after being pleased with Fallout 3, and I think I prefer it over Fallout. The genre and setting of the game fit me more. However, I am very much looking forward to Fallout:New Vegas and I hope its updated graphics and new features will be enough to take the win.

I think I might have to get Borderlands now. There is a great topic. What does everyone think of Duke Nukem Forever? Should they have given up? Can it possibly live up to half the hype?

Honestly I don't think there is any hype left for Duke Nukem Forever. The game became such a joke that it will live up to the hype if it actually gets released. I still think until we see it on shelves we should not believe it exists. For all we know next week Gearbox could go bankrupt and be another piece of the legend and curse of Duke.

That's extremely unlikely because Gearbox are coming off the back of their highly successful new IP Borderlands. Those guys have the money and the drive to take Duke to the finish line. I can't imagine it'll be a groundbreaking game, but it would really surprise me if they didn't manage to finish it at this stage.

The reason Duke Nukem Forever has to come out is simple: Duke Nukem is a big name, even after all these years. It may become a bankable franchise once again, but in order to do that, they need to get Forever out of their system. They can't really make new Duke Nukem's in the shadow of a forever-unfinished Forever. That and the fact that many many people spent their entire professional careers working on a game that never came out and were left with no finished projects to their name... If nothing else, it'll be vindication for those poor saps who slogged away at 3D Realms fruitlessly for a decade.

But thats a problem as well, if Forever profits just because of the hype and the long wait, is it really worth it if its a sub-par game?

So far, as much as I'm not fussed about it, it doesn't seem like it'll be anything worse than an OK shooter. Which frankly is more than most people expected 12 months ago.

Man oh man, have I been Minecrafting recently. Built a four-storey tower on a very high hill that reaches the maximum height of the world, up in the clouds. Then, dug a mine out under it which eventually leads all the way to the very bottom of the world where I finally found some diamond. Course, it was only two blocks, but I'm sure there's more. Also, loads of redstone, which I've not really played with yet. Also found a dungeon room down there this evening, so I've gotta go claim that. Also, built a bridge to the next hill, where I had set a major lava flow going - but after falling in it, I ran some water over it and turned it to stone. Then built another bridge to the next hill, and built a crazy ass waterfall.

I should probably get some screenshots...

EDIT:

There it is there, my tower.

At some point while I watching a friend play Fallout 3 I learned that I cannot play the game with the Radio on. Some of the songs on the game creep me out for some reason...like Lets Go Sunning.

Recently, I've been playing Medal of Honor:Vanguard. I'm stuck on the last operation, Varsity. Does anyone have any ideas or hints to help out?

Just got Formula 1 for my birthday and it is sooo good, probably best racing game I've ever played simply for the fact that by the end of one race im drenched in sweat - it seriously is that nerve wracking if you get propery into it.

Also got FIFA 11, quite impressed, probably best football game yet but not massively different.

Been playing NBA 2K11 and I have to say I am extremely impressed. This is probably the best basketball simulation game ever, and I am not speaking in hyperbole, it really is that good. It is weird, but so far NBA 2K11 is up there as one of my GotY contenders. It is just that well designed and detailed.

Been playing a lot of Super Meat Boy and Costume Quest recently. Super Meat Boy is awesome, old school, and frustratingly hard (but in a good way). Costume Quest is cute, has some decent writing, but is ultimately mediocre and repetitive and not something I would recommend unless you really like turn based RPGs and want a light hearted one to waste a few hours on.
