Singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Sally Stevenson was born and raised in California, where she spent most of her days at the beach enjoying the sunshine. Born into a musical family, she took piano lessons starting at a very young age and as she grew older picked up the guitar, flute and any other instrument she could get her hands on. She wrote her first song at the age of 16, drawing inspiration from her parents’ record collection. Now, six years later, she continues to write songs that draw inspiration from the music of the 50s and 60s, as well as modern-day pop, to create her own unique blend of styles. “I want to make music that’s never been heard before,” she says. “Today’s music industry is filled with too many bands that sound the same. I want to be different.”

You draw inspiration from music in the 50's and 60's as in...........well because there is country, pop, rock and roll, blues, rock, r&b..... But I'm guessing Pop? Jazz? Maybe? No?
And the part where you say too many bands sound the same. Maybe you are not hearing close enough ;)
