Things blew up when superstar "Matty" released the following statement after "Leaving" Hot Eye Records:
"MattY has left because he felt that he wasn't getting what he wanted to out of it, so he will now be looking for a new label" the teen's team posted on his website.
After many angry messages from fans and supporters of Matty. Hot Eye Records has finally responded with the following:
"It seems that Matty has made it seem that we "Hot Eye Record" haven't provided the support or the attention Matty needs. Within this months time frame there is only so much you can do, and we were open about pretty much anything our artists had requested. One thing we never do is completely take over someone's career. The freedom in our label is pretty much hard to find elsewhere and Matty chose not take advantage of that.
If you're young in this business, I feel that you should appreciate and work with what you have. Part of being successful, is appreciating what you have and what MAtty had is what many young kids and adults would die for. We were actually looking forward to what MAtty had to release, and we did not expect Matty to fire us back with the message. We definiftly respect his wishes, and we wish alll the luck in this tough business. With that attitude especially.
But this is just part of our progress in becoming a more stronger and independent label. We will be more specific on what we want next time we sign an act. "

Greg Walls (Studio60Records): That seems like a rather disrespectful comment from Matty, I think artistic freedom is important and the fact that you give him a record deal and artistic freedom is incredible for someone so young, I think he should feel pretty guilty about those comments, but good luck to him I guess. |
