[Opening Monologue]So there’s this Purger serial killer tracking music’s superstars, I had a serial killer tracking me once, yeah I’d come home from work and he’d leave these little O shape things on the floor as a sort of clue and to try and scare me a little bit. We caught him eventually, turned out to be a box of Cheerio’s.
Tonight’s guest is a person who rose to fame as a drummer with Firecracker 47 and is a well renowned actress, ladies and gentlemen please welcome, the beautiful, Mikki Moo.Jake: So Mikki, you’ve been around for a little while now and you seem to be building yourself quite an open ended career, of course you’re an accomplished drummer, vocalist and general all round music star, you’ve ventured into the acting world to great praise and you’ve even tried your hand at production, is there anywhere else for you to go?Mikki : I don't know, really. I'm hoping to concentrate on my music for the moment. I wouldn't say no to doing movies again - or TV shows, like this of course! - but I've got an upcoming side-project with Jimmy Bishop, and of course Firecracker 47 will be back for a second album after Joshy's legs and eye are better.
Jake: Your maybe just as well known for your relationships than maybe the music, You’ve famously been involved with all three of the Comatose brothers, you had a one night stand with Ryan Ross Hernandez and of course your relationship with the incredible Chris Pratt, but there has been a lack of media speculation about your personal life recently and is that something you’ve consciously decided to do, keep your private life private?Mikki : Chris .... ah, memories. I really regret cheating on him, but I was so sure Chris liked Gemma Maddison, they were soulmates. Sorry, I went off on one. Anyway, yes, I plan to keep things more secret now. it was mainly because everyone's privates were out in the open, everyone trying - and failing - to keep up with the Maddisons and Ryan Ross Hernandez - oh, and by the way, how did I know his name would turn up?
Jake: Well it's the way the world is now, we'll maybe not remember the names of all of someone's songs but as soon as they have sex with a fellow celebrity it's never forgotton. Of course you’ll prefer to be known for you achievements as a musician and actress and we’ll get to that part of your life shortly, but is there anyone else out there in the music industry who you’ve got your eyes on?Mikki : Sexy Star? *laughs* About the only one I haven't done. Well, Lukey Comatose and I have an on-and-off thing going, he's turned to me since Sophy died, though we've kind of split, I got a little TOO angry about getting 'Sophylis' off him. For now I'm playing the field. Are you available, Jake? *winks*
Jake: I'm available but even I know I'd be punching way above my weight, Your career and achievements has always been dwarfed by your looks. Does it annoy you that people focus on your beauty maybe more than they should?Mikki : Well, I am pretty beautiful. *blows kiss to audience* Sometimes, but .... not that often, I can deal with being called pretty!
Jake: So your first band wasn’t massively successful was it, in comparison with your later work but what did you take from being in The Nightside Bikithan Cat Collective, and was it a happy period?Mikki : I learnt something very important from that. Never work with children, animals or Lewis Mason.
Jake: You became a huge name in 2009 when you joined Firecracker 47, that band in particular has been considered your more carefree/fun band, did you enjoy your time in F47 more than any other period?Mikki : Yes. Roxy's the best girlie mate I've ever had, though I do put her down a lot, I love her to bits really. And Joshy and James - what can I say? They're like a comedy double act, Joshy used to depend on James for everything, especially back when they were both single.
Jake: And In The Cold You Look So Fierce, broke up far too prematurely in my view, of course the reasoning was understandable, it was a tough time I’d imagine to break the band up. What was it like to make that kind of decision and who made it?Mikki : Su Spears made it. She was a fantastic lady, kept us all grounded. Molly and Colin were all good to go, and Chris and I pretended that it would work, but it wasn't going to. It was tough breaking up, but in the grave we were digging ourselves, there wasn't room for five. After splitting with Chris and then splitting what could have been really good, I've learnt never to take my work home with me. You won't find me in the holy bed of Father Joshy! *laughs*
Jake: You’re an incredible actress with a massive career ahead of you in that field, is acting something you’d look to focus on more in the near future or is that on hold for other projects.?Mikki : Like I said, I would be happy to do a movie again, especially a Delta Tau one. 'Fierce', what a concept. I think I got the best character, Bree was such a backstabber, unlike 47,21X-FIERCE who at least admitted to what she was. Plus Bree got the sex scene. *winks* Anyway, it depends what Delta Tau and any other companies are up to. If I get an offer, I'll look it over, but I'm putting most of my energy into my music now.
Jake: And production, I would imagine was a very unexpected string to your bow. Is it something your gonna look at more now?Mikki : That's about the strangest offer I'd had! We'd always relied on Katie as a producer, and she had to oversee me in case I made any mistakes! But still, Jenny Hudson, great girl, very patient with me. Possibly I might do, but being as my current projects are with Katie Kairiri and Jimmy Bishop, little chance being as they've been in the business for years.
Jake: I don’t know about comparisons, but I’ve always seen you as somewhat similar to Nadia Berry of GirlSpice is that something you agree with?Mikki : Ah, Nadia. What a character. She always stood out from the crowd, made big publicity stunts, she was kind of like Stephanie Fierce before Stephanie Fierce. I'm kind of like that I think, people do notice me, though I don't think I'm quite as crazy! As for comparisons - there are so few in the girl drummer business apart from the Moronics' Nick Biggs, and NOBODY compares to her, so I'm safe for being - ahem, mediocre.
Jake: And right now female solo artists are dominating the music industry. Who do you admire out of the recent influx of young female musicians?Mikki : I'm really into Glamazon at the moment, she's very .... unique, to say the least! I also like Stacey Walton and little Yasmin Storme, both of them are real spunky girls which I admire - and as for Brittany Knox, isn't she just the breast? *laughs*
Jake: Ha, that joke has become more succesfull than me, I'd be suprised if it wasn't offered it's own sitcom, hopefully I won't be remembered for only that joke. Any major rivalries in the music industry, I’d imagine there’s a few?Erm .... Roxy!? No, not really since I've been laying back, but being as I've returned to a female-dominated society, there's bound to be a few cat claws out!
Ladies and Gentlemen, please show your appreciation to this stunning superstar.
