Atlanta rapper Rel has been working hard for the past two year, trying to break into the music industry. Now he's doing just that. With a string of succesful mixtapes that were critically acclaim by fans and the underground music scene. At 19 years old he's considered hip-hop’s hottest unsigned artist, there is seemingly nothing in Rel’s way.

We recently caught up with in an New York studio. Rel sat down with XXL Magazine and answered a few questions for us.
XXL: Explain to us your label situation.
Rel: I don't have an record label. If the right offer comes along its a done deal. Ya feel me?
XXL:What are you currently working on?
Rel: I just started working on my debut album.
Are there any artist features you want to have on the album?
Rel: Yeah but this is my first solo album so im going to limit the features. Its going to be a classic tho.
Do you have a name for the album?
Rel: Nah. Not yet its too early to name it.
Do you have a release date set?
Rel: Nope. I don't even know when the album will be done. I won't make the streets wait to long.
How often do you record?
Rel: Everyday. You gotta stay on point or you will fall off in this game.
Do you work with any less popular or up and coming artists?
Rel: It really doesn't matter. If you real and you make good music then we can work together and get this paper.
How would a artist be able to hook up with you for a project?
Rel:My manager Wiz Khalifa he handles all that. If the check clears then we can go into the studio.
Do you have anything you'd like to talk about that we haven't discussed?
Rel: I'm not just another rapper thats here one mintue then gone the next. I make songs about the streets and real shit. If you ever done been thur the struggle you can relate. Just hear it out first.
Rel let us hear a few bars of one of his new tracks.
