Following the weeks and months of media scrutiny, Brittany Knox steps to center stage again, this time demanding respect with her all new E.P which features 8 freshly (+ a bonus track) recorded and written tracks for everyone's ears. After appointing Danny Allen as her head Producer, Brittany has acquired a new sound and a new outlook on music after learning something new after the fire she received after her pop "filled" debut album Mannequin which is now gold in the U.S. After taking a recording getaway in Europe where she recorded her most of her E.P material, Brittany is looking to make a blast in the industry, the right way.

Quote:
I cant wait for this E.P to come out, I really think people are going to enjoy my new sound and I absolutely love it, a point really needs to be made. My music sounds so much better and the inspiration is all there. In my voice its a story I'm telling, I could relate to this material more than anything that I've ever recorded, including Mannequin because I was recording as I was going through a very tough time in my life , the media troubles, my personal life and just search for myself, its completely different from Mannequin not only sound because of the rock , new wave and Alternative influence but the mood as well, this material is more dark and edgy and just plain great! Halfway There, is a story I'm telling and that's what I love most about it. New Wave and a new Alternative sound stands out the most on the E.P and it really sounds beautiful, I never knew I had the pipes to pull this off!

Yep, the E.P will be called Halfway There confirmed by the star herself

Quote:
The E.P was named Halway There because people yearn to be perfect, try so hard to be the most perfect little things ever but no matter how hard you try to be perfect you'll only get halfway there because no one is perfect, basically. I thought the title actually meant something and I could relate to it. People expect me to be perfect and I try so hard, and one day I realized that I'm only gonna get Halfway There, I'll never be perfect. That stuck with me and I just wanted it to be the title.

Song Synopsis

1. Truce
My single is called Truce and its a mid temp New Wave song that debuts my new sound, soon as you pop on Halfway There. The song explains how everyone should be forgiven and I'm calling a truce with the industry, my fans and myself for all the wrong doings I have done. Its an inspirational but angry song at the same time and I love this song because its a very natural and real song that took me a while to write just because I was going off of personal events. It was produced by Danny Allen and was written by the both of us. It also has one of my all new touring members Tommy, working the guitar and an amazing electric guitar solo coming toward the end!

2. Halfway There
Halfway there was actually the last track I wrote from the E.P and I figured it would be best to put it on the E.P to explain what 'Halfway There' meant. It has an alternative origin to the song with slowed down rock. I'd like to call the song a captivating Rock ballad. I like the song because it sounds depressing and sad while sustaining a stand strong attitude to it. The song is about people who always try to make themselves perfect, try to make themselves the best they can ever be, but no matter how hard they try to be perfect, their only get Halfway There because no one in this world is perfect, you can try but you won't get there. And I like the track and is one of my favorites because I can relate deeply to the meaning behind the song.

3. Underwater
Underwater is a track I wrote, which was produced by the European producing machine - Milan Musiic. I like the song because I know many people could relate to the song because the feeling of sadness is terrible, not only physically, but mentally as well but only you can get So in the track I sing about drowning in a pool of tears but by the end of the song I sang "every girl swims over an ocean". I had a blast writing the song because a lot of metaphors, similes and symbolism is used in the song and it could take some time to really master what the song is about. I love the sound though because I can't exactly put my finger on the exact Genre, what stands out is the blaring electric guitar chords every time the chorus comes up following every 3 words I sing. Milan is a musical genius.

4. My Own Enemy
My Own Enemy was a song that I was writing in the middle of my heavy controversy stage. I was completely torn n half and pissed off to another level. Although I wanted to curse I kept it to myself and made My Own Enemy such a great song. It is a New Wave song with a strong Rock element to it and the song is about hating yourself because of what other people are saying about you, and I felt like this topic needed to be covered because around the world this is happening. Little girls crying at home because they're getting called fat, or homosexuals killing themselves for different reasons. Listening to what other people have to say only leads you to become your own enemy, for you to start hating yourself and this song clearly shows the angry state of mind I was in. I sang "I'm just becoming my own enemy" - my favorite line in the song.

5. Me Against the World
Me Against The World is about the feeling of you being against the world. As if you have no one and your just alone. In the song I'm singing "frantically" as if I'm under pressured or just nervous and I loved that because it gets the point of the song across better instead of just getting on the track, singing and your done. It took me a while recording Me Against the World because I wanted the emotions to really show. The song is another New Wave beauty with elements of rock and pop rock. The beat is kickass and goes about 110 beats per minute.

6. Nobody's Girl
Nobody's Girl is one of the hardest songs I sang in a long time, and its talking about not needing a damn soul, but yourself and especially not a man. The song is very inspirational and has the classic build up to the emotional chorus. Which is always good to include in an album. This song has a lot of guitar usage and drums and is a nice Alternative Rock/Pop song.

7. Speak

Since much of the album is serious I had to incorporate a fun song while still maintaining a serious subject. Speak is a New Wave song with a heavy element of Euro or Dance music. What the song is about is being able to speak your mind without someone else speaking for you or holding you back from speaking your mind. I like this song because its not generic and introduced me to a dance genre that I really like and it mixes well with the instruments of New Wave, not to mention my vocal chords.

8. Confessions (From The Bad Girl)
Confessions (From The Bad Girl) is the last song off the E.P and I'm ending it off very well. I love this song probably one of my favorite songs I've ever made because I'm talking about everything that has been spoken about me and calling myself the bad girl, but everyone makes mistakes. I like the call it Truce Part 2, but that's not why I love it, I love it because its such a beautiful song and the chorus even better and I think people will agree after hearing it

Itunes Bonus Track - Running Up That Hill (Placebo Cover/Kate Bush Cover)
I think Running up that hill is so different to do on my part and I had a great time covering this song because it has a nice Alternative Rock element to it and my voice sounded great on the song. Its also a beautiful time that I had an amazing time singin. This E.Phad no boundaries for me so I took a chance with this song and it really turned out well.

EVERYONE BE SURE TO PICK UP BRITTANY KNOX' E.P - HALFWAY THERE. IN STORES AND ITUNES TOMORROW! SHE WILL ALSO BE LAUNCHING HER PROMO TOUR TOMORROW.

Jake: Incredible work Brit, I like track 6 as a song but I also dislike it for other obvious reasons but other than that it's incredible.
