 She talks about her child hood & life....
So how exactly was growing up? Did you have a tough upbringing? Surprisingly, I had a great upbringing, aside from my mothers death. Everything other than that was in place, I was a straight A student in elementary school and I guess everything was in order, thank god. Because I look at other peoples stories and wonder just how hard it may have been for them. But then again, people think the same thing about me when I tell them what happened with my mother.When did you feel like music was what you wanted to do growing up?Am I allowed to say when I came out the womb? *laughs*. But no, what happened was there was a talent show in my school and I sang "Unchained Melody" by the Righteous Brothers and I got a standing ovation. People in the auditorium were crying and just smiling. My parents were also crazy as well and at that moment I said, wow, this is for me. I really loved that when you sang, you have people in awe and you kind of control them in a way. When you make a slow and depressing ballad - the listener would get a sense of sadness when they listen to it. And when you make an uptempo dance track, people feel happy and feel like dancing. And I wanted more of that, since that very night, I always wanted to make music. Did a lot of people believe in you or were you the underdog?I had people who believed in me and I also had the little snobs at school who didn't believe I was going to become a recording artist. But I didn't care about what they had to say, I let it go because letting them get to me would only waste my time, but when they see my name in bright lights, how would they feel, you know?What is the best memory you had growing up?There a lot. Many memories with my family as one. There's memories of Christmas that never gets old and I'll just ALWAYS remember that talent show. That's just implanted into my brain... never gonna go away.
The Worst?....Probably the news I got when my mother passing away...
How do you cope with not having a mother around, and does the passing ever bring out the emotion in you when you record an emotional song?OH YES! I mean, having her around always sucks really bad but you cant sit around for years to come grieving and grieving. I don't want to live my life sad so I try not to even think about it. I was very young when it happened and sometimes it bothers me but I try so hard not to let it get to me or trust me, I'll be an emotional wreck. But I'm definitely coping, my father makes a good mom and pap! When it comes to emotion on a song, yes, the emotion really does come out if I'm singing and I think about my mother, people always ask why I sound so emotional in my songs and I almost never tell them that's the reason why.
Very sorry about the loss. Anyway, how has your father contributed to what you've become today?He contributed to everything, without him, there would be no Michelle Green of today... She talks about boys & relationships What is your ideal guy? What do you look for? "I hope my dad isn't watching!" But my ideal guy is a guy who can stay true and not get with a girl just for one thing. I do not believe in that type of stuff. A guy who can treat their girlfriend correctly and just shows her the respect she needs.What is your type? Looks wise?He has to be clean cut, nice eyes, nice style. I cant really put my finger on it but yeah....Many rumors have been circulating that you are dating pop/rap artist Matty, please settle the rumors and let it out now, if you don't mind, however. Matty and I have very busy schedules, I mean we have spoken for sometime but nothing ever went more then that. I guess he has his own thing going and if that's him I'll do the same. He's a very nice guy but if we were to be going out and for me to just think of all the girls all over him, I'd get arrested! *Laughs* but seriously, I'm really not sure at this point....So is that a yes or a no?I really couldn't say.. because I don't know at this point. She talks about her music & Success Your first single Fifteen, shot to #2 on the Top Airplay chart, why do you think it became so successful so fast?I don't know... I really don't know to tell you the truth. I was in utter shock when I got the news because Folk Music is very underrated and I guess what really made the song popular is that we made it very loud and a lot of drums were incorporated. The song was fun, so we pretty much made mainstream Folk Music and it was worked very well.How did you react, and how did everyone on your label feel?I jumped for joy let me tell you! I was so happy but so shocked. And I cried also! I was just afraid about what was going to happen and I wasn't ready. My label on the other hand were on cloud 9....Was your father proud of you? Since I know he obviously was, how did he begin to act?Pap, he was beyond proud of me and he began to act sooo nice to me. "Hm.. I wonder why". No, he stayed pretty much the same
and kept his composure so I don't lose it. Its a lot of pressure.Your next single, Dark Days, even became more successful, this time becoming a #1 hit not only in the U.K but on the Top 20 Airplay chart as well, how did you react after hearing this news? I didn't believe it, at all. The head man of the old Junction records came to me and said "YOU HIT NUMBER ONE!" I didn't believe him and he showed me the paper and I was even more shocked than I was before. This time he had a celebration and I really had fun, I was getting used to the fame. It became fun more, then scary. Once you get used to the paparazzi - nothing can defeat you! *Laughs*You are one of the only females in the music industry to have both your debut single and second singles debut in the 2nd and top spot in less than 3 months, how does that make you feel?Makes me feel pretty freaking successful. That's a nice milestone to accomplish and I'm very grateful for that. How would you explain your music? Is it just Folk or does it have elements of other genre's incorporated?Its Folk Music with elements of some Pop and Rock. I make Jazz music, and Alternative music as well. How do you cope with all the success and fame?I'm coping! *Laughs* Its fun now, I just tell myself this is my way of life now and there's no going back... its the truth, so why not just live with it!Does it ever become a burden on you? In the beginning it did. I began missing everything I was before but now, I love everything that I have and god wants this for me and I want it too....I think this is the life. Its takes a lot to decide to wanna do this and what it has to offer but, I'm very grateful for all that's happened when it comes to my success.  She talks about performing What is usually your attitude when performing? Is it edgy, rock chick or..?It depends on the song, when I sing Fifteen, I'm very smiley since its a very excited and happy song. When I sing Dark Days, its more dark. It varies on the song.How do you like to dress for live performances?Whatever I'm feeling most of the time. I think being comfortable plays a big part in it, especially if your running around the stage.How do you recover from slips and falls when performing? Don't worry, it happens to everyone.I just get up and keep it moving. Never crash and burn! NEVER!What area has the craziest crowd to you? I think us Brits are the craziest! We are never dead! And if your from the U,K and your performing here, especially in your home town, the crowd will go bonkers!
She talks about the music industry How do you feel like the music industry currently?I think its female dominated, which is nothing wrong with that. And dominated by pop artists.What artists of today can you see still making music 5 to ten years from nowMiss Vanity - still running strong! Ryan Ross Hernandez, Stacey Walton and some others.. Do you ever get offended when someone calls you a pop act?It doesn't bother me because I am "pop"ular, not to sound conceited or anything and even if your not a pop act and is popular I'm sure someone has called you a pop something! *laughs*What artists of today stand out to you? Who do you like?Ryan Ross Hernandez - love his originality and hard work. Stacey Walton - she can jump on any track whether it be death metal or power pop, she'll do her thing.. which brings me to Chloe who is very versatile, Brittany Knox, Christina Lake, Alicia Lena, Vanity and more..Who's CD's do you currently have?I have Ryan's second album, Brittany's Mannequin and Halfway There, I have Stacey's album, Cristina's - Nola, and pretty much everyone I stated above. I'll be picking up Chloe's album too. *Laughs*
She talks about her future plans Is there a rough release date for your 2nd studio album?I'd say Spring of 2011.... yeah.. then.What are you planning on doing in the next few months?I think I'll be releasing some stuff.. dont wanna give it away. hehe..Yes, in fact I did hear you were releasing an E.P, when can the fans expect that?Fine..... soon. I dont wanna spill the beans. Very soon though.Since your growing up, is there ever a push for you to be sexy?Ugh... at times. I'm 16, in the a world where sex sells. Obviously there's a push for it in some fields but I never push my self too low to look like some sex kitten, I don't think that's too attractive. Sexy is sexy... but sexy as in being sl*tty isn't cool. Are you going to be going on tour any time soon?Yes I will be actually, all my beautiful fans, be ready for that... Any last words Ms. Green?I love my fans! And keep voting for Red Symphony on the Top 20 charts! Its currently at # 15 !  |
