Millie Little opens the door of the cafe and goes to the counter. She looks up at the board on the wall to see what she should buy. She puts her hand in her pocket and feels around for some money. She pulls out a five pound note. Millie looks up at the board again as the person behind the counter asks what she wants.
"Oh... Hi... Erm... Can i have a hot chocolate please?" Millie asks, smiling at the boy behind the counter. He is probably a year or two younger than her, and he has short dark hair, with dark brown eyes.
He smiles back and prepares the drink. "Marshmallows and cream?"
Millie nods, "Yes please"
He adds the Marshmallows and cream and places the drink on the counter, "£4.69 please". Millie places the note on the counter and collects her drink. She collects her change and goes and sits at a table, warming her hands on the warm drink..... |

Since the break-up of Mind was announced yesterday, Eric Quillington has been seen by music fans as the reason for the split. This, obviously, has had a very negative impact on his life; Mind fans have been heckling him on the streets, and even the faithful Infinite fans are questioning the frontman's loyalties now that Project; Prometheus has become so infamous. With these recent events fresh in his mind, Quillington decided to take a quick walk around the city under a heavy disguise. Fresh air is good for the mind, right? (No pun intended)
Dressed in a beanie cap, sunglasses, and three layers of jackets in an attempt to hide his slim figure, Quillington sits down next to Millie Little;
"Hey there, Millie. Saw your face through the outside window, and figured I'd drop in to say hi. If we're due to be collaborating on your single or album in a bit, there's no better chance then now."
Upon saying this, Eric quickly realized that Millie might not recognize him, and hastily added;

Millie looks up as this strange man sits down next to her. Millie looks starts to collect her things and get ready to run until he tells her who he is.
"Oh;" Millie sighs and relaxes, "I see, im loving the disguise. No offence, but i always thought you looked slimmer on the TV, sorry." Millie laughs and then turns away as she realises she has just insulted Eric Quillington.
"So yeah, hello, its nice to meet you Eric. I have always loved your work. Anyway, yeah, for my album, have you got any ideas for songs that we could do? I have been writing, but i am just clueless as to what you would want to do" ... |

Instead of being offended by the unintentional insult, Eric simply laughs and replies, "Well, I kind of am thinner than I look at the moment. Just wearing three coats. I put a lot of work into this disguise thing, and it seems to be working like a charm."
After ordering a coffee, he continues to talk to Millie, "It's nice to be talking to a fan of my work, people haven't really been treating me too kindly these past couple days. But, it's completely up to you on what type of song we'd make. I don't know much about your particular style, but my songs have always been a bit dark and twisted. Still, I've worked with people from the Bards to Jason Smith, so it'd be fairly easy for me to adjust to anything you throw at me."
Eric takes a sip of his delivered coffee, and promptly starts choking. His quiet mumbles of how disgusting it tastes are overheard by the waitress, who looks incredibly insulted. |

Millie giggles a little as the waitress gives Eric a very dirty look.
"This is some really great stuff Eric, isnt it?" Millie says sarcasticly, and then giggles again.
Millie turns to look at Eric again, "Okay then, so i know you are very good at writing music, and you are multi-talented in terms of instruments so would you be alright to write a piano instrumental?"
Millie picks her bag up from the floor and starts searching around inside it. She pulls out a little note book and slaps it onto the table. Millie places her bag back on the floor and as she starts leafing through the book she looks up at Eric again; "Okay Eric, well i have several songs that i have written - like when i have been on the bus or something, not that that is important or anything;" Millie giggles again, "Here it is!" She lays the book down and points to the left hand page, "I think this one would work well. Have a read through and see if you like the lyrics."
She leaves him to read through it for a minute, but before he can say anything she cuts back in again; "It goes a bit like this;" Millie sings the first few lines quietly to Eric. "What do you think?" Millie takes another sip of her drink and giggles as she remembers Eric choking on his a few minutes earlier... |

Eric smiles at Millie's compliment and says, "Oh, I'm nothing special when it comes to music, just kinda got lucky with media exposure. Most Infinite songs are really just kinda shit. Project; Prometheus will be special, though, all due to Jason being part of it."
Realizing that he's ranting, Eric quickly shuts up and looks at the papers.
"Hmm, I like this, I could definitely write a piano accompaniment for it. I kinda what the lyrics to be reflecting how I'm feeling at the moment, so I could write something out for you."
Eric hums the tune for several minutes before improvising the lyrics 'You're the same as me/All I'll never be'. Upon hearing his singing voice, the waitress instantly realizes that he's Eric Quillington. Rushing over, she says to him, "Oh my god, oh my god! It's really you, isn't it?"
"Uhm, yeah, it's You...", Eric sarcastically replies, slightly annoyed.
"No, I mean... you're Eric Quillington!" the waitress replies ecstatically, all earlier annoyances at his rudeness long since vanished.
"Am I really? I haven't noticed. Thank you for pointing out that fact to me, it should be most useful in future conversations." After saying this to the stunned waitress, Eric quickly turns back to Millie to continue talking about the song.Edited by user 05 January 2011 06:14:40(UTC)

Millie smiles as she sees Eric trying to help with her song. It really makes her feel good in side to know that she is getting an opinion from Eric Quillington on her music.
Eric starts singing and Millie's heart skips a beat, he is really handsome and she is just staring at him. The waitress comes over and starts talking to him, and at this point Millie realises that she is staring at him and goes bright red. He looks back at her after talking to the waitress and Millie doesnt know where to look...
She turns and looks at the waitress, "Excuse me? Please could i have another Hot Chocolate? Thank you."
With that Millie turns back around and looks into Eric's eyes; "So... erm... yeah. You can make a piano piece for you, which is good - and you can write something out." Millie looks at her watch and then realises she is supposed to be meeting her cousin in about 10 minutes, and it will take her at least 25 minutes to get where she needs to be.
"Oh, i am so sorry Eric, but i have to be going now. I promised my cousin that i would meet up with him, and im gonna be late, i'm always late." Millie sighs and starts collecting her stuff together. She rips the page out of her book that has the lyrics on and writes her mobile number on the back; "I have another copy, so you can keep this. And my number is on the back if you need me. So i will see you soon Eric." She gets up from the table and kisses him on the cheeck and quickly rushes out of the cafe... |

"Oh, erm..." Eric started, slightly shocked at this abrupt leaving, "I'll talk to you later then, have a nice day!"
Being awkwardly left in the pub, and caught under the glares of people realizing just who he is, Eric turns his thoughts to several things;
Does Millie have feelings for him?
How long is the public going to hate him for unintentionally splitting up Mind?
What possible motive did that meteor have for wiping out the Dinosaurs?
Did the government just travel back in time to create the meteor in the first place, hence ensuring our species survival?
Wouldn't that just create some huge, Universe-bending paradox?
Eventually, Eric decided these questions weren't going to be answered anytime soon. In the meantime, he might as well have some fun. Removing his glasses, hat, and two of his coats, he stands on top of the table with hopes that it won't fall over and says;
"It is I, Eric Quillington! Rock God of the 21st Century. Modern day Yoko Ono. Revolutionary of Alternative Music. Now, somebody toss me an acoustic guitar, I want to play 'Across the Universe' and give you motherfuckers an unforgettable night..." |

John York, guitarist of The Band, a group that has earned a cult following despite not having accomplished anything of note, turns from his hard liquor to stare at Quillington through his retro, Lennon-style sunglasses. Being detached from popular culture, York had never heard of many of the pop acts hovering about, but he knew Quillington. He was contemplating whether the night really would be unforgettable, before walking by Eric and saying........
"Just play it on the comb and wax paper, no one will forget that......." |
