Ronny: I would rather have seen a "=" than a "and" before Experimental, since that's most likelly what you get from mixing all those styles. Keep the information flowing.

Daniel: Not really. It's actually very funny to me, how artists/bands go around and throw the word experimental around like it's some superhero's catchphrase. Mixing genres and the power of fusion does not give you a golden ticket in the experimental genre. Big misconception there. For example, Green Leaf's "Insomnia" single off their album "Spectrum Overflow" that was released last year; features instrumentation equipment made from water and steel. That's experimental.

On my Antisocial album, the instrument I made MYSELF was influenced by tubular rocks, thick aluminum and power drills.

That's experimental. Mixing a few genres with a "already made" computers/machines/instruments is not.

Ronny: That's one way to put it. For me experimental has always been the process you go through before you know if it's a success or just fucked up. And probably the last thing I'd probably call it is a genre, since I think the whole process could be a part of just any genre. One day 'll have to look up the defination of it as a genre.

Daniel: I get what you mean. But 'Experimental MUSIC' IS a genre and there are specifics to it. It does have a structure. You can do whatever you please with it, but my point really was that mixing metal and country or mixing alternative rock with regggae (for example) isn't Experimental, in the terms of the genre itself.

Most REAL Experimental acts do not see a light in the day. I have had my luck because I mimic the structure of pop, which is why people who are ignorant about the music industry think I'm a pop artist, when indeed I'm not. But I really don't care either way. If success comes to me, I'm more than happy to accept it. I'm not trying to play the victim like many acts do so people could feel for them. That gimmick strategy works for some people though. It is what it is.

Daniel: It Hasn't really been released yet, but glad you showed interest. On the latin bit, I think you should go for it. Latin music has a a lot of varieties and is unique in its own way, I think it will work for you. If you're into electro, you might like "Dance with Monster" off the album. It's not electro but that song is "Gabber" influenced.

Message from Daniel:

This time, my performances are 'experimental' as well. Make sure to tune in to The Ellen Degeneres Show tomorrow where I will be performing in addition to doing an interview.
Since I'll be premiering my single through a televised performance, I have to make it really special.... right ;)

Magie: It is very experimental though, we made something very cool too, I looked for diferent strands in electronic music, and I found "dubstep" and "synthpop", we used a lot these two strands mixing with the usual melodies we already worked. But this sound "Grabbe", it is very undergroung and somehow cool, guess you are a great musician boy! I never heard about this and now that you told me, I searched for it, and it is amazing, very strange and hardcore in a electric form. can't wait to hear your album and maybe work with you in a future.. who knows.

Daniel: Cool Magie and thanks for the compliment, I would def love to do something. The genre generally obviously isn't meant for mainstream appeal, and it's highly respected by the underground scene. I just freaking love it.

OOC: Your reply "dubstep" "Synthpop" screamed out Britney Spears lol

I actually found out about the genre through M.I.A. (the artist), you see some sort influence in her "Born Free" song.

OOC: no, I was not thinking about Britney, despite I like her new song, I'm a DJ and I know dubstep for some two years ago, Magnetic man are a tripleLondon DJs who are recognized as the first mainstream project in the genre, Britney did a "pop" dubstep it is kind of diferent from the real dubstep, actually I guess she only put dubstep on hers ong in a single bridge the song has.And the synthpop I was talking is presented in one of the BEST POP songs a singer could ever make, which is Dance In The Dark from GAGA, but I like Synthpop since Depache Mode, actually this album from my character is based in the last album by depache mode, sounds of the Universe

Magie: I know you don't do mainstream music, and I like that, electronic music don't need to be mainstream, actually first it has to be experimental, it will only be mainstream if people like it.

Daniel: Who said? I love mainstream music. From the 30's, 40's 50's, 60's 70;s, 80's......

OOC: I know that, never really said that, trust me I know about this, but she did popularize it and made it more familiar. Which is the typical power of Britney Spears. As a Britney listener, I'm mad she didn't make the whole song dubstep. I'm not really impressed with her new direction, or should I say...... her label's new direction. Hopefully there's much more than just an album full of this dance pop stuff.

"Dance in the Dark" by Lady Gaga is def amazing and is the only song aside from "Bad Romance", "Teeth" that I love from Lady Gaga. Synthpop gets annoying after a while though.

"Toxic" and "Gimme More" by Britney Spears was def something different and innovative. I would consider it the best "mainstream" electro pop songs of the past ten years.

Wanna listen to some good quality electropop. Listen to Gina X Performance. That's a legend right there

Anywho, because now that Britney Spears has basically put dubstep under a microscope for the whole world to see, I now see members putting dubstep on their RP's. It's kinda funny actually.

Missed the live U-stream? We got you covered on some important questions that were answered:

When is the album available in the US?
February 1, 2011. That's like 16 days away......

When is the album being released in Australia?
February 25, 2011. Available for download as early as February 7, 2011.

When is the album coming out in the UK?
February 7, 2011, instead of Jan 31st due to packaging delays. More specifics on UK shows coming soon as well!

What was the most challenging thing about “Rio?
The most challenging…….I’m not sure. But I do think it was writing “Off to Eris”. I was very sick and my bones were hurting and I was paralyzed in a hospital bed, but I took a pen and made it happen. I was really proud of myself for that too. Other than that, everything just seemed to fall in to place, even though it might of taken a while.

What’s different about this new album than the last, in terms of overall sound and lyrics?
The difference is that the songs are a bit longer, simply because there was no limit and we didn’t focus on how long the songs were. Also, Anti-social touched more on personal concepts such as Insomnia, Immigration, Society/Integration, freak expression and fame. This one is more about love and spirit.

Any singles being released anytime soon?
All singles will be released for free download. "Off to Eris" will be available for download January 15, 2011. Rio Piedras with the Rockers will be available for download January 31, 2011.

Any music video being shot?
A music video is def needed. A music video was shot yesterday.

I'm a Britney listener too. actually as a Dj and palying in some parties here in Brazil and specially to a gay audience, I'm obliged to play Britney, they can pass without GAGA, but BRITNEY, I'll be dead if I did not play her at least once, I remember when she released "3", Gosh, in One night I played this five times... it is the power of Britney Spears

Song Title: Rio Piedras feat. The Rockers (Lyrics)
Genre: Soul-Rock, Gabber

The song will premiere on Danielmusic.com January 31, 2011.

Daniel:
"I have walked a thousand miles by now (wrah wrah wrah)
Yet I still own my leap (wrah...... wrah)
My conscience says…
what are you saying?
Is there any hope left in me?
But Is hope, hope really worth it?
When everything means nothing
Is hope, really worth it?
WRAH!

All it takes is adaptation
All it takes is just a smile
To give me the piece of fortune
I’ve been waiting for a while
I don’t want to be forgotten
But I wanna keep in guard
I don’t want a pot of gold
I don’t wanna own a port
We’ve been sailing all our lives
From the youngsters to the old

Rio, Rio Piedras aha
Rio, oh , Rio Piedras aha(x2)

HEY!
All it takes is just a rainbow
To turn da day upside down
I don’t wanna come and shake you
I just want to turn the frown
If there’s still ‘change’ in your pocket (Line Spoken)
I know you will survive (Line Sung)
If there’s a finger in your hand (Line Spoken)
I know that you’ll survive (Line Sung)
In Rio, Rio Piedras
Rio, oh , Rio Piedras(x3)

You can’t break me
You can’t change
Wrah wrah wrah!
(Wrah..... Wrah)
Rio……..Rio………
Rio……. Rio Piedra aha

I pledge allegiance to the moon,
that I see from the lagoon
Puerto Rico represent
(noise) eeeeeeeeeeeehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

The Rockers:
All it takes is adaptation
Wanna see that honey smile -Whoo! (Daniel)
To give me the piece of fortune
I’ve been searching for a while
We don’t want to be forgotten
But we wanna keep in guard
I don’t want a pot of gold
I don’t wanna own a fort

Daniel & the Rockers:
We’ve been sailing all our lives
From the youngsters to the old

We owe. Rio Piedras aha
We owe, Rio Piedras aha(x2)

Daniel:
Wrah wrah wrah wrah Wrah wrah wrah wrah Wrah wrah wrah wrah

Daniel & the Rockers:
Wrah Wrah Wrah!! (laughter)"

Message from Daniel:

"Recording this album was the most challenging thing to do, because I've been going through so much. From a health standpoint, I haven't been so healthy lately but 7 Months since my first album was released, that's not bad. It takes people years to make an album, but I love what I do way too much to wait that long. My heart really just spilled. This is it.

"Rio Piedras" witht he Rockers is overwhelming. Good overwhelming, and just wait until you hear the actual song. As you can see, these lyrics seem to go more into the inspirational side. I wrote the song in the spirit of just being home and it reminded me how hard life was in Rio Piedras. When I gave the place I grew up a visit, a sense of joy and confidence took over me and I felt like the pueblo needed some sort of anthem. This place I grew up in wasn't the safest, but I'm not ashamed of where I came from. I realized that all it takes is adaption. all it takes is just a simple smile. I WALK EVERYDAY for miles and miles, as if I was actually trying to find something and somehow I still own my leap. I start to think...is hope really worth it? But I don't want to be forgotten. I don't want to be the richest man in the world. I don't want to be on top of the food chain. I'm happy where I am. All it takes is adaptation. I'm slaying them in my own way. I really hope the lyrics speak to you.

And of course getting The Rockers to do this record with me, I just feel fortunate.

On the other hand, "Off To Eris" is basically a dark escape and features instrumentation that I recorded inside a cave. The "Rio Camuy Cave". Recording inside a cave by myself was an amazing experience. It really allowed me to just scream at the top of my lungs. Hearing the echo of my scream allowed me to hear my own voice. Off to Eris is about escaping to the father place you can go. Planet Eris represents who I am in so many ways.

I really put my soul into this album and February 1, 2011 is not so far away. I'm counting every minute. I really think you won't be disappointed with this. Since this is my last album with Junction Records, I wanted to make it special. I really hope you enjoy it."

Edward: I like the look of this album, of course I haven't heard it yet but it's certainly caught my attention so I'll be looking forward to it.
