David: Our first guest is a film maker and an all round nice guy. Ladies and Gentlemen … Jake Wilson

The crowd cheer as Jake enters the studio, he raises his hand in acknowledgement of the crowd. He then walks over to David and shakes his hand before taking his seat. The crowd continue to cheer as he sits down. He then starts cheering for himself along with the audience before suddenly stopping and putting his finger to his lips, silencing the audience in the process.

David: Welcome, it’s great to finally have you on the show.

Jake: Thanks for having me.

David: Well it’s always a pleasure to see you, how’s your new year going so far?

Jake: It’s going in-credible. I’m feeling really good about it.

David: Well that’s great, any new years resolutions?

Jake: Not really, sadly. I was gonna have my new years resolution to be less lazy but then I thought, “Urrghh I can’t be bothered.” So no new years resolutions for me. How about you?

David: (smiles) Oh no. (pauses) So your from New Jersey right?

Jake: Uh, yeah. Well I was born in New Jersey but my parents moved us to New York when we were 5, so I honestly don’t remember very much of Jersey. Usually when people ask where I was born I always generally say New York but yeah originally Jersey.

David: Oh and are you still living in New York.

Jake: Not at the moment, I’m currently based in Los Angeles but New York is definitely were I feel most at home.

David: I see and why Los Angeles.

Jake: Well David, (he smiles) I’m in a business called the entertainment industry and I think Los Angeles is really the hub of the entertainment industry,
whereas New York. I always see New York as the place where the deep artsy type of people live.

David: And what is about LA that keeps you there?

Jake: I do like the laid back spirit of LA. In New York it’s always a very busy city, you’ve gotta be somewhere all of the time in New York but in LA you can just feel a little more free, you can also go out for a drive and it’s a much more pleasurable experience, in New York it takes you almost 30 minutes to get out of Manhattan.

David: Yeah that seems like a fair enough reason.

Jake: Well you know it’s not like I’m constantly in LA, I move around a lot which is what I have to do in my job so at the moment I’m very much back and forth.

David: And does that get tiring?

Jake: Yeah it gets pretty tiring, I‘m very much a man of the people Dave so I try to make time for everyone.

David: I wouldn’t know about that, Uh and being a man of the people entails what exactly?

Jake: Oh you know. Just generally merriment.

David: Sounds like you have your hands full?

Jake: That I do Dave, thank I do (nod’s his head)

David: Now then, 2010 was a pretty big year for you.

Jake: Yeah

David: But not in the way anyone would have expected.

Jake: Yeah, well I didn’t expect it either, so I’d be surprised if anyone else expected it.

David: And at the start of 2010 you had a big year planned but it was all movie based?

Jake: Yeah, it was weird. At the start of 2010, I wasn’t hugely well known. I was a sort of Indie actor/writer/director and no one paid attention. I finished a film called Revelations: Grace & Dreams.

David: And that was a follow up to a previous film right?

Jake: Right yeah. And it had like a small following with a certain type of teenager but it wasn’t like Twilight big. And then I thought to myself, I’m gonna spend the whole year writing an epic filming, like very big production, set in a pretty different time, big battle scenes and love triangles and everything that would make it a success and then Max called me up and said you know, “I want you to help out at the label.” and I’ve always loved music and I thought, “this could be pretty cool.” so I met up with him at his home in New Jersey and I was hooked on this idea. I couldn’t have accepted the role any quicker and of course that put my big movie plans straight in the trash and I was part of this label, and it wasn’t a big name label when I joined, I think they had just signed Alicia Lena as one of their first ever signings but then it just sort of blew up. And then following on from that I was offered the chance to be host at the hall of fame awards, I hesitated and almost said no because I hadn’t done anything like that before.

David: And it was a pretty big deal, first ever show also.

Jake: Yeah and I was so nervous about what I’m gonna say and will the show run smoothly and most importantly how am I gonna open the show.

David: And is that where the joke came in?

Jake: Yeah, if you look at the video of that joke, you can see the fear all over my face. I can’t begin to explain how happy I was when I heard the audience laughing and everything just ran so smoothly after that opening.

David: And will you be back for the 2011 Hall Of Fame.

Jake: I hope so. I had a meeting with the organisers in November to discuss what to improve on and how to make the 2011 show even better and I’ve got a meeting in February with the organisers and that’s when the finer details will be revealed.

David: And surely if you were offered to do it again, you would?

Jake: Oh yeah, I’d do that show every year. I loved it and it’s been great for me, I’ve had success on the back of it and

David: (Interrupts) and you met Brittany.

Jake: Yeah, it’s not the most perfect start to a relationship to make a joke about your future girlfriends breasts on national TV but she was great with it, she came up to me backstage and I was a little bit nervous, I felt really bad about it and she was amazing. She just said, The joke was great and I did a good job at hosting the event and then she disappeared somewhere and it wasn’t until my interview with her when I next spoke to her.

David: And how’s it going?

Jake: It’s going really great. I think we’ve managed to keep the media attention to a pretty minimum standard.

David: And that’s generally a tough thing to do.

Jake: Definitely. When one famous person starts dating, the media is always interested but when two famous people starts dating, that’s when it gets crazy. But we’ve managed to keep our relationship pretty private and I think that’s important for both of us. We don’t mind talking about because it’s a question that keeps creeping up in interviews and we’re both happy enough to talk about it but I think it’s important for us to both be known for our careers rather than the fact that we’re in a relationship.

David: And is Brittany the one?

Jake: I’ve never met anyone like Brittany before. I honestly don’t think she gets enough credit because she’s an incredibly intelligent person, with her music she’s always been in charge and a lot of artists struggle to stay in control of their own music but Brittany has never done anything she doesn‘t feel comfortable with. I really do believe that she’s the one for me, I think she could maybe do a little bit better but I couldn’t be happier.

David: And now your going to be working with Brittany quite a bit this year.

Jake: Yeah, I’m gonna be doing a little bit of production on her new album and I’m going to be working with her on a new film called On The Road To Joy so it’s going to be great to work alongside her and she can show the world that she can indeed do a bit of everything.

David: And will you guys have a lot of scenes together?

Jake: Yeah we’re the two main characters, the movie is based around my character, he’s recently suffered a big break up and his friends persuade him to return to the lake house where they used to hang out when they were teenagers, and while there, my character re-ignites a relationship with his former girlfriend and they embark on this epic love story, it’s all very romantic, not exactly one for the guys but no doubt their girlfriends will be dragging them to the cinema to see it.

David: His new film will be out in the summer (shakes hands with Jake) have a great year, thank you very much. [to the audience] Jake Wilson ladies and gentlemen.
