About the game

The Rockstar Game is a band-management game that runs in your browser. You start a band, write songs, hit the studio, release singles, EPs and albums, promote them, tour the world and try to climb the charts - against every other band in the game, all playing in the same persistent world. The world ticks every night whether you're logged in or not: records sell, charts move, popularity rises and fades. It's free, and there's nothing to download.

◆ Est. 2000 · died twice · came back twice ◆ The Full Story Honestly, it's not boring. Viral off one IRC link. Pay-by-cheque. A plea to Bill Gates. Launches delayed for Blackpool away days. Two deaths, one very avoidable database wipe (mine), and the comeback. Read the story →

How it works

Write. Your band earns points every hour, around the clock. Spend them writing songs and practising your craft.

Release. Pick your best songs, book a producer, and put out a single, an EP or an album. It goes on sale wherever you're popular enough - and it can climb the charts, go Gold, even go Diamond.

Conquer. Promote your records, tour the world's venues, unlock new markets, declare rivalries, team up on collabs - and fight for Artist of the Year at the season's award ceremony.

Free, honestly

The whole game is free. No subscription, no keycodes, no pop-ups - server bills in 2026 are mercifully not what they were in 2001. If you want to support it there's a Patreon with a small in-game perk, but nothing that plays the game for you - the charts are earned, not bought.
