About Masterplan in their own words
The group formed when guitarist Erik Lindqvist and bassist Marcus Weber walked away from a world-renowned European metal group due to creative differences over the band's direction. Wanting to create a grander, more calculated blend of aggressive riffs and sweeping classical arrangements, they recruited opera vocalist Victor Vance and synthesized sound pioneer Dr. Claire Novak. They named the band Masterplan to reflect their meticulous, multi-album story arc: a trilogy exploring a near-future earth where humanity uses complex strategies and temporal technology to prevent its own extinction. Their debut album, Architects of Destiny, shot straight to the top of the European rock charts, solidifying them as modern heavy metal titans.
