Pre-Show Blues:
Everything moves slowly in the eyes of Troy. He feels his cold, cold sweat drip down his forehead, his hands are shaking rapidly, he starts to drink some more alcohol to keep him calm and ready. The band are currently in Teignmouth for the first show of their World Tour, and what better place to start it off than in their own land. Thousands of fans wait in line as they present their tickets to get admission, the show would start off in about two hours and people are already preparing themselves for the show. Troy gets even more nervous as he looks into the open field and see the people entering the gates, JC offers Troy a smoke as he too looks at the people slowly growing in number.

"I know how you feel, I feel the same way too." says JC.

"I'm getting quite nervous, they said tickets were sold out." says Troy as he smokes his cigarette.

"Don't worry, we'll do fine."

"Yeah, I think so." says Troy as he goes backstage to the band's room.

He sees Tristan, JPC, and Carl drinking some more beer and he grabs a bottle. He opens it and drinks almost half of its content. The rest of the band are shocked with the amount of alcohol Troy had just consumed.

"Troy, don't drink too much, you know what happens when you get drunk." says Tristan, drummer and Troy's older cousin.

"Yeah, I just need to cool down a bit, getting pretty nervous right now." says Troy as he drinks what's left of the beer.

Troy walks out again and sees even more people enter the gates. He felt happy and nervous at the same time, but he remembered the days back when Reckoner used to perform in small clubs and remembered how awesome of a frontman he was when he gets drunk, Troy grabs another bottle...

OOC: Watch out for the show later on!

Pre-Show Interview (with Eric Quillington and Greg Oldson)

Interviewer: You two are reportedly huge Reckoner fans. How does it feel to be touring with them?
Eric Quillington: Very, very surreal.
Greg Oldson: It's kind of proof that we've made it in the musical industry, y'know? I mean, we were idolizing them a couple of years ago, and now our name is on the same tour poster as them. It's fucking amazing.

Interviewer: What can the audience expect from Infinite's show tonight?
Eric Quillington: We'll be playing about six songs tonight... we kind of want to get off the stage as soon as we can, because I don't feel like stealing the stage from the main attraction tonight.
Greg Oldson: By no means will it be rushed, though. Infinite fans are in for a treat, because we're opening with a new song. It's a bit of a gamble, because we usually open with Fusion Paranoia.
Eric Quillington: We aren't even playing that song tonight. It might piss off some of the more casual fans... but, it's not a big deal, it's not an actual Infinite concert.

Interviewer: Have you talked to the members of Reckoner at all outside of the business arrangements of the tour?
Eric Quillington: Little bit. JC's a pretty badass guy, I talked to him for a couple of minutes today. Troy seemed a little on-edge today, so I tried not to bother him.
Greg Oldson: If there's an after-party following this gig, we'll probably use the opportunity to get to know them a little better.

Interviewer: How would you say the reaction to you being on this tour has been so far?
Eric Quillington: Troy Mascenon has told us how he admires the work we put into our music, so we've been given a pretty warm welcome by Reckoner.
Greg Oldson: It's amazing to see the amount of people in the crowd who are wearing Infinite shirts. We'd better get going, though, we're going to be performing in half an hour.
Eric Quillington: I just hope it goes alright, y'know?

INFINITE

The driving drumbeat of ‘Teardrops’ by Massive Attack could be heard over the soundsystem. While most in the crowd just figured it to be the next song playing during the wait for the next band, several people in the audience began to have hope that the next band was just about to take the stage. Several of the hardcore Infinite fans in the audience even began to cheer; the band usually walked onstage to this song, so why should tonight be any different?

All the cheers were justified when the lights slowly began to dim, and the rest of the crowd finally joined in. A blonde and impossibly skinny man started to take the stage, and was immediately recognized as Infinite’s front man, Eric Quillington. From Eric’s point of view, he was used to this view… a large crowd of people, waiting to hear music. There was one big difference, though; the people he was staring at weren’t Infinite fans, they were Reckoner fans. He could proudly call himself one of them.

“Hello Teignmouth! Oh, it’s good to be home.” Eric said to the crowd as he wrapped his guitar strap around his neck, “Some of you guys might remember me from my high school days. If it helps to recognize me, I was this conceited asshole. A lot has changed; now I’m an asshole with a band.” As if on cue, Matt Roberts (bassist) and Greg Oldson (drummer) walked onstage. “We’re called Infinite, and you’re going to have to listen to our shitty music for the next half hour.”

As the other two members set up their instruments, Eric played a simple chord melody on the guitar to keep the crowd entertained during the wait. As soon as the two were ready, the band began it’s first song of the night; Falling from the Sky. The song was one of Infinite’s newest songs, and showcased the new direction their music was taking. As the band played, the crowd was transfixed and mesmerized by the dream-like quality of the song. Eric seemed just as hypnotized as the audience in front of him… instead of his usual energetic persona, he was as still as humanly possible. It was obvious that he was pouring all his effort into his voice, and his falsetto singing was benefiting enormously from it.
Greg and Matt followed his example, and were playing as reserved and soft-sounding as him.

The song won over any doubters of the band, and the end of the song made most people desperate to see what Infinite would do next. “Alright people,” Eric said while taking off his guitar, “I’m about to do something I promised myself I would never do when I first started this band.” As
Eric leaped from the stage and to the audience, Matt and Greg began to play the drum-and-bass solo 0.9 Pelnav. The fast and heavy-metal sounding song (completely different from Falling from the Sky) drove the crowd into a frenzy. The two of them had to extend the solo a little bit longer to wait for Eric to get back to the stage, but the crowd loved every minute of it. By the time Eric got back to the stage, he was breathless, having the time of his life, and (oddly enough) wearing a different shirt.

“You would not… believe… what I’ve been through to get back to this stage,” Eric said, extremely amused but still gasping for air, “Anyways, I can’t sing in this condition, so we’re going to play a tune from a sci-fi show. Enjoy!!” After Eric adjusted his guitar settings to fit the tone of the song, the band began to play their own version of the Doctor Who Theme. While they couldn’t perfectly match the sound of the theme with a guitar, bass, and drums, they played it close enough that many people in the audience sang along to the famous tune.

“As I said earlier, it’s good to be home!” Eric said to the crowd after the song was over. “Of course, we aren’t as well known as that other band who’s also from here…” The audience cheered loudly, realizing that he was referring to the main band of the night; Reckoner. “Ahhh, you know who I’m talking about, don’t you?” Eric further teased the crowd, prompting even louder cheers.

“Who’s ready for Reckoner?!” Eric yelled, which caused the loudest reaction of the show so far.

“Well, we won’t keep you waiting much longer,” Eric said, in an almost humble tone of voice, “Here’s our final song; a little ditty known as Supernova.” Since this was Infinite’s most well known song (aside from Fusion Paranoia), this caused a cheer almost as loud as the one before it. Throughout the song, the crowd’s singing was just as loud as Eric’s, and he even backed away from the microphone to let them sing the chorus.

As the band began playing the guitar solo outro to Supernova, the band began its actual final ‘song’ of the night. While Eric began by playing the ending guitar solo to Supernova, he soon changed and began to play the solo to Reckoner’s Daydream. For several more minutes, the guitarist played several more of his favorite guitar solos; Muse’s Uprising, Nirvana’s Smells Like Teen Spirit, Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Californication, etc. Infinite finally ended the melody as Eric played several highly distorted palm mutes reminiscent of Radiohead’s Creep. “Thank you all, you’ve been amazing!” said Greg, saying his first and final words to the audience, “Don’t go anywhere, the best is yet to come!” Infinite walked off the stage amongst cheers of approval from the audience.

OOC: This was one heck of a Live RP, great job Infinite!

Thank you, Stacey! I was slightly nervous of playing that night, because of the fact that Reckoner would be on later that night. It's kind of why I only sung two songs that night... in addition to me wanting to do things a bit differently. I'm amazed at how well we were recieved. I also can't wait to begin producing your album, it's going to be amazing!

OOC: Holy shit, I'm amazed at the comments Infinite's live show has gotten, thank you all so much! I've always thought I was really bad at live RPs; I stopped three times while making this and had to push myself to finish it. I'm not trying to sound modest, but I just don't think I'm very good at writing them. Thanks again, guys, it means alot!

Reckoner Live at Teignmouth!
UserPostedImage

"Those Infinite dudes did a pretty awesome job" Carl says with a smile as he and JC watched from backstage.

"They sure did, that was one epic performance" says JC. One of the crew members signaled JC that they were on in ten minutes.

"We're on in ten minutes dude, better call Troy quick!" said JC as Carl ran into the band's room.

Carl found Troy lying down on the floor, obviously very drunk, with a bottle of beer on his hand. Carl quickly called for JPC as they pulled Troy up and laid him down on the sofa. Troy woke up after a few seconds, but he was not himself. Carl and JPC called for a medic who quickly attended to Troy. After a three minutes, the medic told the rest of the band that Troy was seriously drunk and had to rest for at least five minutes, the band agreed and to waste no time, went to their posts on the main stage without Troy.

Everybody started to cheer as Reckoner walked across the stage to their positions. Teignmouth was their hometown and they have been hugely supported through the years by their friends, families, and fellow townsmen, all of which attended this huge event. Carl quickly tried to divert the attention of the crowd from Troy's absence.

"GOOD EVENING TEEEEIIIGNNNNMOUUUTH!!!" Carl cried loud enough for everyone to cheer in reply.

"Wasn't Infinite great?" Carl received a positive response.

"Well this is the first day of our tour so we'll make sure we'd give you guys one fucking awesome show!" the crowd cheered as Troy suddenly staggered from behind. He had some control, but he was just very drunk that he couldn't walk properly. He then positioned himself to the microphone stand with his Telecaster. Carl and JC worriedly looked at him as he smiled at the two.

"I'm fine guys" said Troy while covering the microphone.

JC and Carl nodded as they started to play Blur. The mesmerizing and dreamy riff began to play as everybody started to sing with Troy. Troy's voice was pretty moody, he played around with the song with different styles of singing, an effect of the alcohol he consumed. The song goes on with Troy shifting from chest voice to falsetto, an aspect that made this song a fan favorite. The song's second section became more lively and wild with Troy adding some ad lib screams in the outro.

"Thank you Teignmouth, this next song is from our new album Everything X, its called She! Screams! Bullets!" screams Troy.

She Screams Bullets is one of the more guitar driven songs from the new album. It begins with this heavy riff played by JC and Carl while JPC plays distorted bass and Tristan plays some cymbal crashing drums. The song begins with Troy singing in a low voice, almost unaudible and uneasy. The song progresses with even heavier distortion as Troy's voice ascends into two an octave higher. The song begins to get interesting as the song's tempo becomes faster and the beats grow heavier. Troy's voice ascends one more octave higher for the outro of the song where things get even heavier and noisier, JC and Carl play separate riffs that sound as one when played, a trademark style by the band. The song ends with a bang as Tristan, JPC, JC, and Carl do some freestyle jams.

The next song was played with no verbal introduction. Tristan cued the others with his drumsticks as they exploded into the next song, Grudge. Troy played his clean guitar riff as the others joined in with heavy distortion. Everybody sang along with Troy as the rest of the band stopped, leaving Troy to sing a capella. No instrumentation occurred until the pre-chorus where everything just exploded like a bomb. The heavy distortion continued to play as Troy sang in an aggressive manner. He started swaying his guitar around as the solo began and unexpectedly, slammed it on the floor before doing a huge stage dive. he was caught by the people near the front row as they moved him all around the audience, he was brought back quickly after the end of the solo at the request of Carl, who was worried that Troy was still drunk.

To Be Continued...
(OOC: I'm so disappointed with this RP, it's not what I expected it to be..)
