Joshua Perry got his first job at a grocery store which lasted 3 months, he then started busking in the streets but didn't get much money or praise because he played loud rock music which passers by didn't like. Jenny Hudson was born on 17th June 1991 in Mountain View, Arkansas which is a small town with around 3,000 population. Her mother was an events organizer and her father was a farmer, which led to Jenny’s love of animals. She spent most of her free time walking around the quiet streets and she spent a lot of her teen years down at the river bank. She is also a singer-songwriter and plans to become a solo artist in the future.

INTERVIEW WITH JENNY HUDSON

UserPostedImage

Q: Good morning Jenny, How are you feeling?
Jenny: Really good, I’m always happy first thing in a morning and plus it’s a really beautiful day.

Q: It sure is, You’ve been announced as a new member of 4th Street Band, how does that feel?
Jenny: It’s really a huge honour, I’ve heard a lot of good things about them, so I can’t wait to meet up with everyone in rehearsals.

Q: How did you get to become a touring member of the band?
Jenny: I moved to New York in October 2009 and I was really struggling, I couldn’t afford to stay at my apartment and I was really worried. I heard that Junction Records were holding open auditions at 4th Street Studio’s, so I thought I’d give it a go because that’s why I moved to New York. I auditioned for Lucy Tyrell and Greg Walls but they didn’t sign me but just after I left the audition room, Lucy caught up with me and we just started talking, She found out that I was about to lose my apartment and offered me the chance to stay with her at her apartment, we’re similar in age so it worked and she helped me develop my playing ability, we became really good friends and when she spoke to Max about maybe having me on tour I met Max and played a couple of his songs which he liked and about a week later he called me and said that he wanted me to tour with 4th Street Band.

Q: So you became close friends with Max and Lucy quite quickly, how would you describe them?
Jenny: Lucy is fantastic fun, she always makes me laugh, She’s achieved so much at a young age and I’m always learning from her, I’m not really used to partying but she’s taken me to a couple of party’s and it was really great. Max is a really kind person, you’d think that because he’s a rock front man he’d be some wild part animal but he’s a really great person and a fantastic family man, I’ve spent time with Katie (Sister) and Juliette (Fiancée) and they’re both really nice people. They’ve all helped me out when I needed it.

Q: What do you hope for in your future?
Jenny: Hopefully I’ll make a good impression with 4th Street Band and I’d love to become a fulltime member for years to come, but I do want to do some solo stuff in the future, I’ve got a lot of songs and hopefully people will get to hear them sometime.

Q: How would you describe your youth?
Jenny: I love the place I grew up in even though it was a pretty small town, but I had to move to a bigger city to have the kind of success I’m looking for. I spent a lot of time on my own between like 12 - 16. I had a couple of friends but I wasn’t the most popular at school.

Q: Are you the kind of person who is photographed leaving clubs in the early hours of the morning?
Jenny: If your asking if I’m a wild party girl then no. I’ve partied a little bit since moving to New York but I’m not crazy wild. I’m not a perfect person though, I do have my wild moments. I’m single right now so that’s something I’m hoping to change, I don’t like being single but I haven’t found anyone in New York who I’m attracted to. I’m going on Holiday for two weeks on Friday on my own, I’m going to San Sebastian so hopefully I’ll meet someone there.

Q: Have you been on holiday before?
Jenny: Of course, I went to Barbados for a week with Lucy in January which was fun, that’s probably the only time when I’ve just decided to go a bit crazy and have fun. I went to Florida with my family when I was 14 but we couldn’t really afford to holiday often.

Memories Of You By Jenny Hudson

When you say, I love you
But I’ve gotta go away
I’m gonna fight
For freedom Baby, For love tonight

You went to war
Fought for our land, Alone I stand

Memories of you
Are with me when I sleep
I hope for everything
A sense of pure relief

Your in my heart
Your in my mind
I got the letter
It said you’ve left this world behind

Memories of you
Are with me when I sleep
I hope for everything
A sense of hope and pure relief

I wake alone
Sweating in my room
The place where we belong
I dreamt you were here

Now all I’ve got in my life is the fear
I understand you loved your country
And fought for our land

So what am I
Supposed to do with myself now
Give me a sign, please let me know how just when to smile

Memories of you
Are with me when I sleep
I hope for everything
A sense of hope and pure relief

Memories of you
Are with me when I cry
I hope for everything
I want you by my side

Memories of you are fresh
In my mind
You left me and this world behind

Max: For the past couple of week we've been rehearsing and preparing for our tour, we've been recording a couple of new songs which could feature on our 1st studio album, the Live Anthology Vol 2 is pretty much complete, a few tweaks here and there and then it will be ready for release. On a side note myself and Lucy recently visited Chicago, Illinois to visit the site which will become the second 4th Street Studio's, The plans are really good and It won't be long before work starts on the building so we're looking forward to that.

Max: Thanks, We're really looking forward to it, the only issue we've ever had with that was, Can we recreate the same feeling on a studio record as we did on the Live Anthology Vol 1? and after recording a couple of demo tracks in the studio together I have to say that the answer is a firm yes.
