Roots & Routes

Roots & Routes formed entirely by accident after five strangers all got off at the wrong train station on the way to a reggae festival in 2026. Instead of turning back, they found a pub, started chatting, and agreed that it was “basically a spiritual experience.” Hours later they’d written their first song, missed the festival completely, and decided that was actually better. Their tours are famously unpredictable: they occasionally turn up in the wrong city but insist on playing anyway. “Roots” – lead vocals Claims every song is “about the journey” even when it’s obv about missing a train. “SatNav” – guitar Always says he has a quicker way and has never once been correct. “Detour” – bass Has been to 42 countries, remembers about 6 of them clearly. “Flip Flop” – keys & melodica Has not worn proper shoes since 2011. “Big Kev” – percussion Plays bongos, tambourine, a saucepan… whatever’s nearby. Mystery Dave - vibes No one knows what he does. He’s just always there. Nods a lot.
