Handz ★

Handz is an innovative American jazz outfit that bridges the gap between traditional mid-century bebop and modern electronic-infused fusion. Hailing from Philadelphia, the ensemble emerged in 2021 out of late-night jam sessions at local underground venues, quickly earning a reputation for blistering improvisation and hypnotic rhythms. Their distinctive sound relies on tactile, organic textures—hence the name—blending acoustic upright bass and smoky saxophone with ethereal synth pads and intricate polyrhythms. Handz released their debut album, Tactile Impressions, to critical acclaim in 2024, cementing their place as a vital, forward-thinking force in the contemporary American jazz landscape.
