The Armchair Detectives

Quietly intense, book-soaked, and unmistakably from the south of England, Abigail Roberts (left) and Georgia Cooke (right) radiate a timeless warmth. Since meeting in music school, the duo has built an acclaimed live presence marked by easy camaraderie, light humour, and a knack for turning every day observations into great tunes.

Skilfully blending indie folk with chamber pop, their music pairs catchy melodies with soft, yet commanding, harmonies that feel genuinely handcrafted. Behind the gentle playfulness and whimsical streak that runs through everything they do lies an emotional maturity and seriousness to their writing. You can hear the countryside in their tone, the libraries in their imagery, and the closeness of their friendship in the way their voices lock together. Expect conversational songwriting, performances that feel like gatherings, and plenty of tangents about art, books, tea and cake.
