Isabela Mar

Born and raised in Lima, Peru, Isabela Mar grew up surrounded by a vibrant collision of worlds. In her household, the soulful, melancholic strumming of the traditional charango and the hypnotic rhythms of Afro-Peruvian cajón blended seamlessly with the booming global sounds of contemporary pop, synth-wave, and electronic dance music.

While studying audio engineering and digital media in Lima, Isabela realized that traditional Peruvian music was often viewed globally as a static museum piece rather than a living, breathing genre. She decided to change that narrative. Armed with a laptop, MIDI controllers, and a deep reverence for her roots, she began fusing ancient Andean folk melodies and Amazonian rhythms with heavy 808s, hyperpop production, and futuristic hyper-gloss aesthetics.

Ambitious, innovative, and unapologetically proud of her heritage, Isabela Mar is on a mission to bring the soul of Peru to the global stage.
