Formed in in the bustling arts district of Osu, Accra, Highlife was brought together by a group of conservatory graduates and underground street musicians. They wanted to honor the golden age of West African funk while pushing the envelope with 2026 production styles. Their name reflects the rich history of Ghanaian weaving—stitching different cultural threads, rhythms, and modern electronic elements together into one vibrant sonic pattern. They caught international attention with their viral live-session EP, Accra Sunset, which blended hypnotic saxophone riffs with rich pidgin and Twi vocals.
