Tasogare Kinema

Formed in Kichijōji, Tokyo — a neighborhood famous for its historic Jazz Kissa — Twilight Kinema began as a late-night jams project inside a subterranean listening bar called Someday. There music is best discribed as a hybrid of traditional Showa-era Japanese jazz club melancholia, fast-paced Tokyo street grooves, and cinematic, atmospheric soundscapes. They blend grand acoustic grand pianos and upright bass with lush synthesizers and field recordings of Tokyo ambient noise.
