Arctic Void
About Arctic Void in their own words
The band traces its origin to Pyramiden, a ghostly, semi-abandoned Soviet coal-mining settlement frozen high above the Arctic Circle. Deep in the polar night—where the sun vanishes from October to February—a handful of permanent caretakers, climate researchers, and eccentric recluses gather in the canteen of the town’s decommissioned cultural center.
In 2018, during a blizzard that knocked out the main satellite link for three weeks, four residents dragged an old Upright Piano and discarded radio gear down to the boiler room. To combat cabin fever and Seasonal Affective Disorder, they began improvising raw, slow-burning blues grooves. Their sound blends Mississippi Delta slide guitar with haunting Scandinavian minor harmonies, echoing off industrial steel and tundra ice. Their blues is born not from humid southern swamps, but from sub-zero isolation, endless darkness, and heavy wool sweaters.
The record nothing out yet
Arctic Void has not put a record out. When they do, every single, EP and album lands here with what it peaked at and what it sold.
Honours nothing yet
