Celeste Monet
About Celeste Monet in their own words
Born in Harlem and raised in Memphis, Tennessee, Celeste’s musical foundation was laid early through traditional gospel arrangements in her grandfather’s neighborhood sanctuary. Absorbing the brass-heavy soul of Stax Records alongside the lush 1990s arrangements of Minnie Riperton and Anita Baker, she spent her formative years writing lyrics in school notebooks and arranging self-taught guitar voicings.
After relocating to Brooklyn to complete a degree in sound engineering, Celeste spent two years working late-night studio shifts—engineering tracking sessions for established artists by day and recording her own compositions in the off-hours.
