Life
Johnny Carter was born in Houston, Texas (June 22, 1998). His father a sales manager and his mother a woman with strong will raised him with love and dedication. Johnny's passion always was music that's why he took many music instrument classes etc. The first instrument he played was the piano but after 2 years he decided that it wasn't for him. After many attempts his attention was captured by dancing. He took Latin lessons for 6 years but his favorite dance style was Hip Hop. Hip Hop became a part of his daily life and it led him to win many prizes in several competitions. All of these things helped him discover his true and biggest love of all, singing. He started taking lessons with a good teacher that helped him improve and realize his vocal abilities. The only obstacle was his one self because he was a really shy kid but with his mother's help he succeeded.


Early Career
Johnny Carter's career began with him performing at many local shows with other talented kids. Every year they had almost 20+ shows. He's first cover was Night Changes by One Direction which he performed together with 4 more guys. After a while he decided that he wanted to try to do something bigger, that's why he posted his first Vine performing Thinking Out Loud by Ed Sheeran. His covers were more popular by the day, so he understood that he was ready to post his covers on YouTube. Surprisingly, Johnny's covers had more than 3 million views. After seeing his covers a famous producer was willing to help him launch his career.

When did you first start singing?
I first started singing when I was almost 8 years old.. in my school choir.

Who are your musical inspirations?
My main inspiration is Beyoncé.. like you can't not love her (haha)
My other inspirations are Shawn Mendes and Alec Cole because they both started from YouTube just like me and they're themselves and I love their music.



What kind of music do you listen to today?
I actually listen my genres.. like I love R&B, Hip Hop, Pop and Soul.. but I like almost every kind of music.. if the song is good it doesn't really matter.

Where would you most like to perform?
My dream is to perform at the Grammy's that'd be amazing.. or a world tour with Beyoncé but we all know that isn't going to happen.



If you weren't singing, what would you be doing?
I don't know.. that's a tough question and I haven't thought about it.. Music is my life.. so it would probably have to do something with music.

What hidden talents do you have?
Wow to be honest I haven't find something that you all don't know.. Y'all know I dance, sing, write and that's it for now.



Do you enjoy writing lyrics?
Actually I just started writing lyrics.. my debut single "Deadly Love" was my writing debut as well.. and I can say that it was incredible.. you sit down and express your feelings and thoughts.

What is your favourite song of the moment?
That's hard.. I'd probably go with Restraints by Alec Cole.. I love its lyrics and the message it's really important.



Do you have any plans for the future?
Yeah I have some plans but I won't say anything.. the only thing you should know is that great things are coming.

Is there someone special in your life?
Haha.. no I'm not in a relationship right now..

What would you like to say to your fans?
I'm working really hard for you guys and I want you to know that I'll give everything that I have to entertain you. Don't forget to buy my debut single "Deadly Love" (:P).

The lights turned down as the screens showed a black and white video with Johnny striking different poses and everyone heard his recorded voice saying "The single best thing about coming out of the closet is that nobody can insult you by telling you what you've just told them." While the video was still on the screens the instrumental kicked in and the two background singers started singing the intro of the song and then Johnny's recorded voice was heard saying "I don’t want anyone to hold back who they are. It’s not okay… it’s not a good thing." while Johnny was going in the middle of the stage and white and blue lights started flashing to the beat of the drums. Then Johnny started singing the first verse of the song, he definitely looked kinda nervous but he was gaining confidence with every single lyric he sang. For the prehook the lights stopped flashing and when the chorus kicked in he started jumping while still being in the center of the stage.

When the second verse started Johnny approached the audience and sang it to his male and female fans, he didn't care if they were LGBT because they could relate to the lyrics even if they had other issues. Then he started singing the prehook and for the "let it out" and "live your life" parts he let the crowd sing. When the hook started he went crazy and started jumping, he was thrilled that the fans knew the lyrics and seem to be enjoying the song. He was getting tired because of the intense jumping and wanted to catch his breath and that's why he let the audience sing "Do what you wanna".

When the hook was over and the bridge started the lights simmered down and there were only dark blue lights. Johnny was standing in the middle of the stage again, he was singing this part passionately and pointed at the crowd. When the bridge ended and the hook started he run towards the crowd and waved and held their hands while they were singing the last hook. As soon as the song ended the lights turned off and the black and white video of Johnny came back on the screens and we heard his recorded voice say "When you finally come out, there’s a pain that stops, and you know it will never hurt like that again, no matter how much you lose or how bad you die." while Johnny was standing with his eyes shut. The background singers sang the intro one last time and then Johnny said "The beauty of standing up for your rights is others will see you standing and stand up as well." When he finished, Johnny smiled happily and shouted "I love y'all".
